National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(4):342-344
OBJECTIVETo analyze the efficacy and medication principles of Professor Xu Fu-songs traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) protocols for male diseases.
METHODSWe reviewed and descriptively analyzed the unpublished complete medical records of 100 male cases treated by Professor Xu Fu-song with his TCM protocols from 1978 to 1992.
RESULTSThe 100 cases involved 32 male diseases, most of which were difficult and complicated cases. The drug compliance was 95%. Each prescription was made up of 14 traditional Chinese drugs on average. The cure rate was 32% , and the effective rate was 85%. Professor Xu Fu-song advanced and proved some new theories and therapeutic methods.
CONCLUSIONProfessor Xu Fu-song's TCM protocols can be applied to a wide range of male diseases, mostly complicated, and are characterized by accurate differentiation of symptoms and signs, high drug compliance, and excellent therapeutic efficacy.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of thyroid surgical emergency related disease and prognosis, provide the basis to improve treatment. Methods Retrospective analysis of 24 cases of thyroid surgical emergency patients in Peking Union Medical College Hospital,Chinese Academy of Medical between 2004 and 2014who was performed, and the Fisher analytic method was used. Results According to the condition of diseases, conservative treatment for 1 case, surgical treatment for 23 cases, interventional therapy for 2 cases were performed. The overall preoperative diagnosis rate was 45.8%.The overall perioperative death were 5 cases (20.8%),total death were 7 cases(29.2%).8 cases preoperative diagnosed or highly suspected thyroid lymphoma patients were received oral or intravenous corticosteroid treatment, with the use of corticosteroids perioperative survival rate increased from 50% to 100%.Conclusions (1) Thyroid surgical emergency with different causes should quickly make a clinical diagnosis based.on the patient's history and examination, select rational treatments.(2) Thyroid lymphoma patients that preoperative highly suspected or diagnosed, immediate received glucocorticoid treatment can reduce airway obstruction and decrease mortality, should be promoted.
5.Professor Yu Hai-bo's clinical experience in treating acute attack of hemorrhoids with acupuncture-moxibustion
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2018;16(1):28-32
Hemorrhoid refers to soft vein mass formed by varicosity of submucosal veins around the end of the rectum and subcutanceous veins of the anal canal. It is the most common anorectal disease. This article summarized the regular patterns, features and advantages of Professor Yu Hai-Bo's acupuncture-moxibustion therapy for hemorrhoids, in order to guide the acupuncture treatment for hemorrhoids.

Recently, the progress in employing transplanting stem cells to cure injured retina is very fast and has been continuously yielding exciting results.Various sources are used in the studies, including retina-derived cells such as M?ller cells and ciliary body cells, and non-retina-derived cells such as embryonic stem cells and brain-derived stem cells. This review briefly discusses the recent progress of these studies.

Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture at lumbar Jiaji (EX-B 2) points plus botulinum toxin injection on the seated function of patients with spastic cerebral palsy.Method Sixty patients aged 1-4 years old with spastic cerebral palsy were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 30 in each group. The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture at lumbar Jiaji (EX-B 2) points plus botulinum toxin injection, while the control group was by conventional acupuncture plus botulinum toxin injection. After 3 treatment courses, the seated function zone (zone B) of Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) was used for evaluation, and the clinical efficacies were compared.Result Respectively after 1, 2, and 3 treatment courses, the total effective rates were 46.7%, 73.3% and 83.3% in the treatment group, versus 33.3%, 46.7% and 60.0%. There were significant differences in comparing the total effective rate between the two groups after 2 and 3 courses (P<0.05). After the first treatment course, the seated function score of GMFM was significantly changed in both groups (P<0.01). After the second course, the seated function score was significantly different from that after the first course in both groups (P<0.01). After the third course, the seated function score was significantly different from that after the second course in both groups (P<0.01). There was a significant between-group difference in comparing the changes of the seated function score during the second treatment course (P<0.01). There was a significant between-group difference in comparing the changes of the seated function score during the second treatment course (P<0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture at lumbar Jiaji (EX-B 2) points plus botulinum toxin injection can produce a more significant efficacy in improving the seated function of patients with spastic cerebral palsy.

objective To observe whether the killing effect on HCC SMMC-7721 cell of the antihepatocellular carcinoma scFv reconstructed by pharmacy was enhanced or not. Methods Prokarycytic expression vector containing PET32a-RC-RNase was induced to express by IPTG.The inclusion body purified and Western-blotting was used.PC.CHOL and CHS was added in chloroform.Dry membrane was formed after chloroform was removed.RC-RNase protein solution was added to dissolute the membrane. Then pass the solution over a Sephadex G-50 column after ultrasound and filtrated to detect the encapsulation efficiency of the liposome. The solution reacted in EDC.SSNHS and MES for 30 minutes. Then add hdscFv to the solution in 4 ℃ over night.MTT method was used to detect the killing effect on HCC cell of immunoliposome RC-RNase,immunotoxin RC-RNase and liposome RC-RNase in vitro.Resuits The killing effect on HCC cell of immunoliposome RC-RNase is the best.but that of Iiposome RC-RNase is the worst. The respective JC50 are:3.28μg/ml,22.44μg/ml and 98.26μg/ml.Conclusion The anti-hepatocellular carcinoma scFv relomtructed by pharmacy can promote the killing effect on HCC cell and may have potential in the treatment of hepatocarcinoma.

Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2008;17(5):487-490
Objective To investigate the effect of xenon intervention on delayed neuropsychologic sequelae (DNS)in acute carbon monoxide(CO)poisoning.Method Adult Wistar rats were randomly divided into sustained group, early intervention group, and control group.CO(150 ml/kg)was infused by intraperitoneal injection to produce DNS model. In sustained intervention group(S-group),xenon(150 ml/kg/d)was infilsed by intraperitoneal injection for 2 weeks;in control group(C-group),xenon was replaced by equal volume air;and in early intervention group(E-tvoup),xenon(150 ml/kg/d)was,employed in the first 3 days and air(150 ml/kg/d)was substituted for xenon in the following days until 2 weeks after CO poisoning.Morris maze test was used to evaluate the intelligence of rats. The long-term potentiation(LTP)of hippocampus Was detected by neuroelectricity recording. The apoptosis rates in brain was detected by TUNEL staining. The data were expressed as(x±s)and analyzed with student's test and analysis of variance.A P value less than 0.05 indicated statisfical significance. Results After exposure to CO,poisoned rats showed intelligence decline, demyeliation ofwater matler and cell apoptosis increased, which were consistent with DNS.In S-group and E-group,the rates of DNS and apoptosis were significantly lower than those in C-group,whereas the rote of LTP in S-group and E-group Was significantly higher than those in C-group.Conclusions Early xenon intervention can effectively decrease the rates of DNS occurred after acute CO poisoning.
