Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture at lumbar Jiaji (EX-B 2) points plus botulinum toxin injection on the seated function of patients with spastic cerebral palsy.Method Sixty patients aged 1-4 years old with spastic cerebral palsy were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 30 in each group. The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture at lumbar Jiaji (EX-B 2) points plus botulinum toxin injection, while the control group was by conventional acupuncture plus botulinum toxin injection. After 3 treatment courses, the seated function zone (zone B) of Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) was used for evaluation, and the clinical efficacies were compared.Result Respectively after 1, 2, and 3 treatment courses, the total effective rates were 46.7%, 73.3% and 83.3% in the treatment group, versus 33.3%, 46.7% and 60.0%. There were significant differences in comparing the total effective rate between the two groups after 2 and 3 courses (P<0.05). After the first treatment course, the seated function score of GMFM was significantly changed in both groups (P<0.01). After the second course, the seated function score was significantly different from that after the first course in both groups (P<0.01). After the third course, the seated function score was significantly different from that after the second course in both groups (P<0.01). There was a significant between-group difference in comparing the changes of the seated function score during the second treatment course (P<0.01). There was a significant between-group difference in comparing the changes of the seated function score during the second treatment course (P<0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture at lumbar Jiaji (EX-B 2) points plus botulinum toxin injection can produce a more significant efficacy in improving the seated function of patients with spastic cerebral palsy.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of thyroid surgical emergency related disease and prognosis, provide the basis to improve treatment. Methods Retrospective analysis of 24 cases of thyroid surgical emergency patients in Peking Union Medical College Hospital,Chinese Academy of Medical between 2004 and 2014who was performed, and the Fisher analytic method was used. Results According to the condition of diseases, conservative treatment for 1 case, surgical treatment for 23 cases, interventional therapy for 2 cases were performed. The overall preoperative diagnosis rate was 45.8%.The overall perioperative death were 5 cases (20.8%),total death were 7 cases(29.2%).8 cases preoperative diagnosed or highly suspected thyroid lymphoma patients were received oral or intravenous corticosteroid treatment, with the use of corticosteroids perioperative survival rate increased from 50% to 100%.Conclusions (1) Thyroid surgical emergency with different causes should quickly make a clinical diagnosis based.on the patient's history and examination, select rational treatments.(2) Thyroid lymphoma patients that preoperative highly suspected or diagnosed, immediate received glucocorticoid treatment can reduce airway obstruction and decrease mortality, should be promoted.
5.Professor Yu Hai-bo's clinical experience in treating acute attack of hemorrhoids with acupuncture-moxibustion
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2018;16(1):28-32
Hemorrhoid refers to soft vein mass formed by varicosity of submucosal veins around the end of the rectum and subcutanceous veins of the anal canal. It is the most common anorectal disease. This article summarized the regular patterns, features and advantages of Professor Yu Hai-Bo's acupuncture-moxibustion therapy for hemorrhoids, in order to guide the acupuncture treatment for hemorrhoids.
7.Professor Xu Fu-song's traditional Chinese medicine protocols for male diseases: A descriptive analysis.
National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(4):342-344
OBJECTIVETo analyze the efficacy and medication principles of Professor Xu Fu-songs traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) protocols for male diseases.
METHODSWe reviewed and descriptively analyzed the unpublished complete medical records of 100 male cases treated by Professor Xu Fu-song with his TCM protocols from 1978 to 1992.
RESULTSThe 100 cases involved 32 male diseases, most of which were difficult and complicated cases. The drug compliance was 95%. Each prescription was made up of 14 traditional Chinese drugs on average. The cure rate was 32% , and the effective rate was 85%. Professor Xu Fu-song advanced and proved some new theories and therapeutic methods.
CONCLUSIONProfessor Xu Fu-song's TCM protocols can be applied to a wide range of male diseases, mostly complicated, and are characterized by accurate differentiation of symptoms and signs, high drug compliance, and excellent therapeutic efficacy.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between apoE gene polymorphisms and gallstone. Methods We included all the published studies on the association between apoE gene polymorphisms and gall-stone. A meta-analysis was employed to summarize all these studies, calculate the pooled OR and its 95% confidence interval (95% CI) , and test the overall effects. The Egger's publication bias analysis and sensitivity analysis were carried out to evaluate the reliability and stability of the meta-analysis. Results Eleven association studies between the apoE gene polymorphisms and gallstone fulfilled our inclusion criteria. There were 1248 patients with gallstones and 1660 controls. Remarkable heterogeneities were discovered in the allele ε4 and genotype E3/E4 of apoE between gallstone and control subjects in these studies (P<0. 05). Their ORs and 95%CIs were 1.32 (1.01, 1. 71), 1. 60 (1. 04, 2. 46), respectively (P<0. 05). The results of sensitivity analysis and publication bias analysis showed the reliability and stability of this meta-analysis. Conclusion apoE gene polymorphisms are associated with gallstone. Those with the alleleε4 or genotype E3 /E4 had a higher risk of suffering from gallstone.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2015;(3):150-155
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with low-frequency electric stimulation on scissor gait in children with spastic cerebral palsy. Methods:A total of 60 spastic cerebral palsy kids were allocated into two groups by random number table, 30 in each group. Cases in the control group were treated with physical exercise therapy, massage and hydrotherapy. Based on the therapies given to the control group, cases in the observation group were supplemented with acupuncture combined with low-frequency electric stimulation. Selected points included Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Yanglingquan (GB 34), Jiexi (ST 41), Chengshan (BL 57), Naoqing [Extra, locates at 2 cun directly above Jiexi (ST 41)] and Genping (Extra, locates at the midpoint of the line connecting medial and lateral malleolus). The treatment was done once every other day and 10 d made up a treatment course. The low-frequency electric stimulation was applied to anterior tibia, 6 times a week and 20 times made up a treatment course. Cases were treated for a total of 3 courses and there was a 15-20 d interval between two courses. The low limb functions were assessed before and after treatment using the modified Ashworth scale (MAS) and composite spasticity scale (CSS). In addition, the ankle dorsiflexion angles were measured before and after treatment. Results:After treatment, the ankle dorsiflexion angles and CSS scores in the observation group were better than those in the control group, showing statistical significances (P<0.05); the effective rate in the observation group calculated by MAS and ankle dorsiflexion angle were both higher than that in the control group, showing a statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion:Rehabilitation training combined with acupuncture and low-frequency electric stimulation can achieve better effect than rehabilitation training alone in improving scissor gait in kids with spastic cerebral palsy.
