Objective To study the influence of hemodialysis on inflammatory state and immune function by analyzing the change of serum protein components in uremic patients before and after hemodialysis.Methods 75 cases of uremic patients confirmed by the Nephrology from October 2013 to May 2014 were selected as the observation group,and 15 healthy volun-teers at the same time as the control group.Then the serum protein electrophoresis pattern of observation group beford the first hemodialysis,after the first hemodialysis,after one month’s treatment and control group were compared with each oth-er.Results In the observation group before and after the first hemodialysis,the ALB levels were lower,α1 and α2 globulin levels were higher than those in control group.There was a statistically significant between the observation group before and after the first hemodialysis and control group (P <0.001).After the first hemodialysis,there were differences inα1 globulin levels compared with before the first hemodialysis (P <0.01).ALB was no significant difference after one month’s hemodi-alysis compared with before the first hemodialysis,andα1,α2 globulin were significantly reduced and the difference was sta-tistically significant (P <0.001),ALB was lower than the control group and was statistically significant (P <0.001).After one month’s hemodialysis,the levels ofγglobulin were higher than those in control group,before the first hemodialysis and after the first hemodialysis.There were significant differences (P <0.001 or P <0.01).Conclusion Regular and effective hemodialysis can improve inflammatory state and immune function of uremic patients.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of radiosynovectomy with 32P colloid in haemophilic synovitis of adolescents. MethodsRadiosynovectomy with 32P colloid was primary performed on 26 male haemophilic patients(26 joints),whose average age was 16 years(11 to 21 years).The average dose of 32P colloid was 2.1 mCi(1.0 to 3.0 mCi). Objective To observe the influence of following-up care on lifestyle and blood lipid levels of hyperLipidemia patients discharged from hospital. Methods 110 cases of hyperlipaemia patients were randomly divided into two groups when discharged from hospital. The experimental group is to be followed up, and the other group is for comparison. Two groups in the hospital are given the same health education and medicine treatment, and should be worked out the diet, life-style and medicine treatment interference measures. The experimental group were followed up after discharged from hospital in four months, which were carded out by the nurses through telephone or home visiting once a month, the contents include learning the patients' implementation of interference measures, provide guidance and training for the patients who deviate from the meastures or passively cooperate, and guide the patients to follow the interference measures to keep a balanced diet, good life-style and medicine treatment. The comparison group just were offered guidance when discharged from the hospital, but no followed up by the nurses. Results The group of being followed up obviously had a better improvement than the comparison group beth in balanced diet and healthy lifestyle as well as the effect of controlling blood lipid, P < 0.01 and P < 0.05 respectively. There was a statistical difference. Conclusions The interference care after the discharge can significantly improve the compliance in treatment of patients with hyperlipaemia, help to establish a balanced diet and life-style, and redhce lipid levels.

Aim To explore whether sea-buckthorn slows down-regulation of hepatic cytochrome P450 2C(CYP 2C)in mice with liver injury by BCG vaccine(BCG)-induced via PXR/NF-κB pathway.Methods The mouse model of liver injury was induced by a single tail vein injection of BCG 125 mg·kg-1 for hepatitis B research,and the mice were randomly di-vided into control group,BCG group,BCG+sea-buckthorn granules(SG)group(gavage 50,100,200 mg·kg-1,twice a day),BCG+PCN group(intraper-itoneal injection 100 mg·kg-1,once a day).The levels of serum transaminase and TNF-α and IL-1β in liver tissue were detected by ELISA.The nuclear pro-tein expression NF-κB p65 and the total protein expres-sion of pregnane X receptor(PXR),CYP2C in liver were detected by Western blot.Liver pathological changes were observed by HE staining.Results Sea-buckthorn inhibited overexpression of TNF-α,IL-1βand NF-κB p65,alleviated the down-regulation of CYP2C and PXR protein expression,and improved liv-er pathology and serum transaminase in a dose-depend-ent manner.After intervention with PCN,a mouse specific agonist of PXR,it was similar to the high dose group of SG.Conclusion Sea-buckthorn slows down-regulation of CYP2C in mice with liver injury by BCG-induced via PXR/NF-κB pathway.

OBJECTIVETo study the potential protective effect of melatonin on the oxidative damage induced by deltamethrin in cerebral cortex, hippocampus and cerebellum of rats.

METHODS35 male wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups(seven rats per group): olive oil control, deltamethrin-treated (12.5 mg/kg), melatonin(25.0 mg/kg) and deltamethrin plus melatonin (25.0 mg/kg , 2.5 mg/kg respectively) group. Levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), glutathione (GSH) in cerebral cortex, hippocampus and cerebellum were determined after 5 days of DM treatments.

RESULTSMDA content in cerebral cortex, hippocampus and cerebellum tissue of the DM-treated rats were significantly higher than those in control group, and compared with DM-treated group, MDA content in those tissue of MT + DM-treated group have significantly decreased after 5 days of DM exposure (P < 0.05). Activities of GSH-Px in DM-treated group were significantly lower than those in control group, and those in the MT + DM group were significantly higher than DM group(P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONDM can induce the oxidative damage in rat brain and melatonin has protective effects on deltamethrin-induced oxidative damage in hippocampus, cerebral cortex and cerebellum of rats.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the relationship between mortality and HBVDNA and HBeAg expression of severe hepatitis B patients.

METHODSThe mortality rates of different types of severe hepatitis patients in our hospital during the last five years were analysed. HBV DNA was detected using the fluorescence quantitative PCR method and the HBeAg expression of severe hepatitis B was studied using a microparticle method.

RESULTS(1) Hepatitis B morbidity was 83.5% in each type of severe hepatitis, and severe chronic hepatitis B morbidity was 96.77% in each type of severe chronic hepatitis. (2) The mortality rate of those with HBV DNA more than 1 x 10(5) copies/ml was 53.25% and the mortality of those with HBV DNA less than 1 x 10(5) copies/ml was 34.50% (P less than 0.01). The HBeAg expression had no influence on the death rate. (3) The death rate descended to 30.38% from 54.64% (HBV DNA more than 1 x 10(5) copies/ml) when treated with Lamivudine (P less than 0.01).

CONCLUSIONIn severe hepatitis the quantity of virus carried in the patient is one of the key factors of mortality; antivirus treatment can lower mortality.

OBJECTIVESTo detect the cholesterol ester transfer protein (CETP) levels in semen of infertile patients and evaluate the correlation between CETP in semial plasma and infertility.

METHODSOne hundred and sixty-three infertile patients and fifteen fertile males were selected randomly. The routine examination of ejaculates was fulfilled by computer aided semen analysis (CASA). The CETP levels in all seminal plasma samples and fifty-five serum samples were detected by ELISA method.

RESULTSThe CETP levels in infertile patients and fertile males were (2.21 +/- 1.23) microgram/L and (1.40 +/- 0.45) microgram/L, respectively. There were no significant differences between the two groups(P > 0.05). And there were no significant differences of CETP levels in seminal plasma among groups of azoospermia(n = 29), oligoasthenozoospermia (n = 58), oligospermia(n = 15), asthenozoospermia(n = 44) and normozoospermia(n = 17) in the infertile patients(P > 0.05). The CETP in seminal plasma and serum were detected in 55 infertile patients, and there was no correlation between CETP levels in seminal plasma and serum using Spearman analysis(r = 0.009, P > 0.05). The mean CETP level in seminal plasma was almost 1/1,000 of that in serum.

CONCLUSIONSThe CETP level in seminal plasma is extremely low and has no relation with the changes of sperm density or motility. It may ensure the integrity of sperm membrane before the sperm enters into female genital tract.

OBJECTIVETo study the chemical constituents of the roots of Stellera chamaejasme.

METHODThe chemical constituents were separated and purified by chromatographic method after solvent extraction and were identified by spectroscopic analysis.

RESULTTwo phenolic compounds were obtained and determined as stelleranol (1) and umbelliferone-7-O-glucoside (2).

CONCLUSIONCompound 1 was a new compound, and compound 2 was isolated from this plant for the first time.

It was previously found that the efficacy of synaptic transmission between retinal cone systems and luminosity-type horizontal cells (LHCs) was activity-dependent. Repetitive activation of red-cone pathway increased the LHCos hyperpolarizing response to red light, and the response enhancement was reversible. In this study, intracellular recording and pharmacological method were applied to investigate the mechanism(s) underlying red-flickering-induced response enhancement. Lowering intracellular Ca(2+) in the LHC by intracellular injection of Ca(2+) chelator EGTA prevented the development of red-flickering-induced response enhancement, which implicates the importance of postsynaptic calcium signal. The response enhancement could also be eliminated by a potent antagonist of Ca(2+)-permeable AMPA receptor (CP-AMPAR), which suggests the possibility that Ca(2+) influx via glutamate-gated calcium channels is related to the changes of [Ca(2+)](i). Furthermore, the administration of ryanodine or caffeine also attenuated the phenomenon, which gives evidence that the local calcium signal caused by intracellular calcium-induced calcium release (CICR) may be involved. Taken together, our data implicate that postsynaptic CICR and CP-AMPAR are related to the activity-dependent response enhancement.
