The Journal of Practical Medicine 2015;(7):1120-1122
Objective To compare the early efficacy of two different ways of rehabilitation exercises in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patients. Method From January 2011 to January 2014,136 patients having undergone TKA were randomly divided into two groups. In group A , patients exercised under the guidance with doctor. In group B, patients exercised by using continuous passive movement (CPM) machine. Compared the data from the two groups including range of motion (ROM) of the knee joint, knee function score (KFS) and circumference of the knee joint, t test of independent sample was utilized in the research. Results All patientswere followed up in 4 weeks. The ROM and KFS of Group A was significantly better than Group B (P < 0.05). The knee circumference had no statistically significant difference between two groups (P> 0.05).Conclusion Group A and B are effective methods in TKA patients in early rehabilitation training. But training under the guidance of doctor has greater advantages than CPM.
5.Binding capacity of nano-hydroxyapatite/polyamide composite material on the interface of artificial humeral head
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;19(30):4764-4768
BACKGROUND:Nano-hydroxyapatite/polyamide 66 is a new nanobionic composite material and has good biocompatibility and bone conduction, but after implantation, whether the composite material can bind to vertebral bone interface and whether it is safe in clinical use stil need further studies. OBJECTIVE: To observe the ability of nano-hydroxyapatite/polyamide composite binding to the interface of artificial humeral head. METHODS: The rabbits were randomly divided into two groups: composite group was implanted with nano-hydroxyapatite/polyamide composites; control group implanted with autologous bone. After the replacement, rabbit bone marrow mesenchymal stem cels were subjected to primary culture, and then the cels were co-cultured with the composite material. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 24 hours after culture, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cels grew wel on the composite materials. The cel adhesion rate was significantly higher in the composite group than the control group at 1 and 4 hours after culture (P < 0.05). After co-culture 4.5, 5.5, 6.5 hours, the absorbance value of cels in the composite group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). At 24 weeks after replacement, changing ranges in the proportions of bone tissue and fibrous layers on the implant surface as wel as coverage rate in the composite group were the highest (P < 0.05). These findings indicate that the nano-hydroxyapatite/ polyamide composite implant has a certain binding capacity, which can make a good interface osseointegration.
6.Specific Effects of Needling Different Acupoints of Patients with Vascular Dementia
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2007;5(1):21-26
Objective: To observe the effects of needling Baihui (GV 20), Shuigou (GV 26) and Shenmen (HT 7) on cerebral glucose metabolism in patients with vascular dementia (VD) by cerebral functional imaging technique. Methods: Twenty-five patients with VD were divided into 5 groups (Group A, B, C, D and E) randomly. Patients in the Group A were treated by needling routine acupoints for hemiplegia (Acupoints of the three yang meridians of hand and foot), and besides the routine acupoints, patients in the Group B were treated by needling Baihui(GV 20), the Group C by Shuigou(GV 26), the Group D by Shenmen(HT 7), and the Group E by Baihui(GV 20), Shuigou(GV 26), and Shenmen(HT 7). All the patients were examined by Positron Emission Tomography (PET) to detect the cerebral glucose metabolism in the bilateral frontal lobes(orbital gyri), parietal lobes, temporal lobes(hippocampus and hippocampal gyrus), occipital lobes, thalamus, lentiform nucleus, caudate nuclei, cingulate gyms and cerebellum before treatments and after treatments. Results: After needling the routine acupoints for hemiplegia, glucose metabolism increased in lentiform nucleus and temporal lobe;needling Baihui(GV 20), increased in frontal lobe, temporal lobe and lentiform nucleus;needling Shuigou(GV 26), increased in frontal lobe, thalamus and lentiform nucleus; needling Shenmen(HT 7), increased in parietal lobe and lentiform nucleus; and needling these three acupoints, increased in frontal lobe, temporal lobe, thalamus and lentiform nucleus. Conclusion:Needling Baihui(GV 20), Shuigou(GV 26) and Shenmen(HT 7) affect glucose metabolism in different functional regions of the brain, and Baihui(GV 20), Shuigou(GV26) and Shenmen(HT 7) relate to different functional regions of the brain.
8.Correlation between microtubule damage and mitochondria damage in hypoxic cardiomyocytes
Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(15):-
Objective To investigate the relationship between microtubule damage and mitochondria damage in hypoxic cardiomyocytes. Methods Cardiomyocytes from neonatal Wistar rat were isolated and cultured for 3-5 d,then divided into three groups: normal control, hypoxia(cultured in hermetic container containing 1%O_(2),5%CO_(2),95%N_(2)),hypoxia with microtubule depolymerization(by adding 4 ?mol/L colchicine). The fluorescence intensity of ?-microtubule was determined by flow cytometry, the morph and distribution of ?-microtubule and mitochondria were checked by confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM) at 30 min,1 h after the cadiomyocytes being oxygen deficit. Results As compared with the normal control cells, the fluorescence intensity of ?-microtubule decreased and the microtubule ruptured and distributed confusedly, and the mitochondria changed into disorder in hypoxic cells. As compared with the hypoxic cells, the distribution of mitochondria confused and the fluorescence intensity decreased in the cells of hypoxia with microtubule depolymerization. Conclusion Microtubule damage occurred at the early stage of hypoxia(30 min).Microtubule damage may lead to mitochondria damage in hypoxic cardiomyocytes.
9.Research progress on target therapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer
China Oncology 1998;0(04):-
As the efficacies of chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) have reached a plateau, the molecularly targeted therapy becomes a new method to improve curative effects. The molecular targeted drugs include epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors, anti-angiogenesis drugs, etc.As one of the representative drugs of EGFR inhibitors, Gefitinib, has a low clinical benefit index.Erlotinib, the first EGFRTK inhibitor, can enhance the survival of patients, and may serve as a potential choice for the first-line treatment of advanced NSCLC.Bevacizumab combined with chemotherapy has shown a favorable clinical effect in the first-line treatment, and it is also the first anti-angiogenesis drug approved by the FDA that can be used in cancer treatment. These drugs, together with clinical and experimental progress in many other targeted drugs, have shown a favorable prospect for targeted drugs in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
