Hemoglobinopathy is a kind of hereditary hematonosis caused by the disproportion among normal hemoglobins or formation of abnormal hemoglobins.Hemoglobin analysis plays an important role in screening and diagnosing hemoglobinopathy.Emerging methods have been applied continuously to hemoglobinometry since the early 20th century.Nowadays,agarose gel electrophoresis,high performance liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis are widely used with mass spectrometry as the latest applied method.All these methods have their own features.Appropriate combination of these methods will lead to more scientific and reliable results.

The quality of life(QOL) in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma ( NPC ) has attracted people' s attention increasingly. Most of the studies focus on measuring scale and influential factor. Both the disease itself and many non-somatic factors can affect the patients' quality of life. In this review, we summarize these research advancements on measuring scales and influential factors, considering that it need more studies regard to quality of life in NPC patients, and it is very urgent and important to work out the special measuring scale of NPCQOL that suits Chinese culture and value system.

China is one of the countries with the highest incidence of esophageal cancer, which is still increasing year by year in recent years. Surgical treatment is the first choice for early and middle esophageal cancer. Surgeons have been exploring how to remove the tumor as completely as possible and reduce the trauma as far as possible. In recent years, with the rapid development of minimally invasive surgery and endoscopic technology, minimally invasive esophagectomy(MIE)has led the trend of radical surgery for esophageal cancer. At present, the mainstream minimally invasive surgery is thoracoscopic thoracoscopic(VATS)resection of esophageal cancer, which requires thoracotomy and anesthesia, resulting in large surgical trauma and more complications of postoperative circulatory respiratory system. Mediastinose-assisted esophagectomy(MAE), which eliminates a thoracotomy, is also an important part of MIE. Overseas MAE application started early, but the domestic development is relatively slow. This article summarizes the experience of different MAE surgical methods in China, and provides the basis for its promotion in China.

Objective To discuss the value of amnionic fluid lamellar body count(LBC) as a predictor of fetal lung maturity. Methods Amnionic fluid was obtained during the cesarean section of 41 normal term pregnancies. LBC was performed on each specimen, and lecithin-sphingomyelin(L/S) ratio was detected simultaneously. Results (1)Amnionic fluid LBC was (86?43)?10 3 (72.5?10 3~99.4?10 3) in normal term pregnancy. (2) Positive correlation was shown between the amnionic fluid LBC and L/S ratio(r=0.66,P=0.001). Conclusion The LBC is a rapid and accurate method to determine the fetal lung maturity.

Objective To analyse the microvascular density(MVD) and CD44v6 expression in uterine cervical squamous carcinoma to evaluate their clinical significance. Methods Immunohistochemical staining (LSAB method) by using antibodies against CD 34 and CD44v6 was performed on archival specimens of 50 cases of human uterine cervical squamous carcinoma and 10 cases of normal cervical tissue. Results MVD was greater in metastatic tumors than that in nonmetastatic tumors and normal control. Objective:To explore feature of clinic and coronary angiography (CAG)of acute myocardial infarction (AMI)for young adults less than 30 years old.Methods:A total of 41 AMI patients,who were under 30 years old and hospitalzed in our hospital from 2004 to 2012,were enrolled as young group.Another 360 AMI patients >50 years were randomly selected as middle-aged group during the same time.Clinical features and CAG results were compared between two groups.Results:Compared with middle-aged group,there were significant rise in percenta-ges of male (68.1% vs.97.6%),smokers (50.6% vs.80.5%)and hypercholesterolemia (59.2% vs.65.9%)and body mass index [(22.3±6.6)kg/m2 vs.(26.3±9.6)kg/m2 ],and significant reduction in percentages of hyper-tension (63.1% vs.24.4%)and diabetes mellitus (30.6% vs.4.9%)in young group,P<0.05 or <0.01;for ex-citing cause,percentages of psychological factors such as tension and anxiety (29.3% vs.3.6%),staying up late (39.0% vs.2.8%)and heavy drinking (14.6% vs.4.7%)in young group were significantly higher than those of middle-aged group,while percentages of agitation (8.3% vs.0)in middle-aged group was significantly higher than that of young group (P<0.05 or <0.01).For CAG results,young group was mainly single vessel coronary disease (56.1%),which were mainly type A (53.7%)and type B1 (29.3%)lesions,while middle-aged group was mainly multi-vessel coronary disease (48.1%),which were mainly type B2 (29.7%)and type C (33.9%)lesions,and there were significant difference between two groups (P<0.05 or <0.01).Conclusion:Smoking,obesity and hy-perlipidemia are the most important risk factors for acute myocardial infarction;the major exciting causes are sta-ying up late,alcohol drinking and high mental stress etc.in young AMI patients;their coronary lesions are mainly single vessel coronary disease,and of type A and type B1 .

Although heterologous biosynthesis of polyketide erythromycin has been successfully achieved in Escherichia coli, the titer remains at a very low level (-10 mg/L). In this study, based on genome-scale metabolic model of E. coli, in silico method flux distribution comparison analysis was used to discover novel potential targets for heterologous 6-dEB biosynthesis. Synthetic small regulatory RNAs (sRNAs) was used to experimentally test 12 down-regulated targets. The results showed that repression of each of these target genes e.g. lsrC and ackA led to significantly improve heterologous 6-dEB biosynthesis. Using co-repression of lsrC and ackA, 6-dEB titer was improved by 59.9% in shake-flask with a maximum yield of 22.8 mg/L. This study indicates that combined flux distribution comparison analysis and synthetic small regulatory RNAs is an effective strategy to improve 6-dEB production in E. coli.
