Objective To observe the expression of SGK in decidua in patients with unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion(URSA) and to investigate its role in the course of apoptosis.Methods The expression of SGK was detected by immunohistochemistry in decidua of URSA(abortion group,n =50) and normal first trimester pregnant women(control group,n =30).The apoptotic index was detected by TUNEL.Results Compared with the control group,the positive expression of SGK decreased significantly in the abortion group,and the difference was statistically significant(x2 =6.78,P ＜ 0.05).The average apoptotic index of the abortion group was (8.19 ± 3.58) ％,which was significantly higher than (2.87 ±1.07)％ of the control group(t =7.94,P＜0.05).Conclusion Intensive apoptosis,the decreasing positive expression rate of SGK in decidua cells may play critical roles in URSA.

AIM:To set up a method for determining epimedin C and icariin in Xianling Guobao Capsules(Herba Epimedii,Radix et Rhizoma Salviae miltiorrhizae,Fructus Psoraleae,Radix Rehmanniae,etc.). METHODS:The chromatographic conditions included the column of Spherisorb C 18 (4.6 mm?250 mm,5 ?m),the mobile phase was acetonitrice and water as gradient eluent was at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min,the detection wavelength was set at 270 nm and the column temperature was at 25 ℃. RESULTS:The linear range of epimedin C was 0.22-2.20 ?g and icariin was 0.04-0.40 ?g,respectively. The average recovery of epimedin C and icariin were 103.2% (RSD=3.1%) and 97.8% (RSD=3.2%),respectively. CONCLUSION:The method is reliable,stable and well reproducible,and can control the quality of Xianling Guobao Capsules.

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and the imaging features of patients with hemichorea associated with hyperglycemia in primary diabetes mellitus (DM). Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical manifestations and the neuroimaging features of 2 patients with hemichorea induced by hyperglycemia in primary DM, admitted to our hospital on 9 and 29 October 2010; the related literatures about this disease were reviewed. Results These 2 patiewnts were both old female diabetics with acute onset of symptomatic hemichorea. One had an outbreak during using insulin to control blood glucose and the other did without using insulin; at first,case 2 symptom of one side chorea was showed,and then both sides were noted.CT findings indicated T1-high-density shadow in the contralateral caudate nucleus, putamen and globus pallidus (CT values in 50 Hu or so); MR imaging indicated that T1WI showed high-signal in the contralateral caudate nucleus,putamen and globus pallidus,while T2WI showed low-signal; partial light atrophy but no strengthening phenomenon in lesion location were noted. These patients were treated effectively with haloperidol and clonazepam.Conclusion Hemichorea induced by hyperglycemia often involves diabetic patients with poor glucose control. Characteristic imaging changes in the contralateral basal ganglia; blood glucose control is the foundation of treatment; haloperidol and clonazepam are helpful in controling hemichorea.

Objective CT angiography (CTA) of the portal vein system by 16 detector spiral CT was performed to determine etiopathogenisis, collateral and gastro-renal shunt in the patients with portal hypertension. MethodsThirty-two patients suspected of portal hypertension were examined and reconstructed by arterial-venous double-phase scan. Results Twenty-seven patients with portal hypertension were revealed by CT scan and reconstruction, with spleen vein thrombosis in 4 cases, congenital cavernous transformation of portal vein in 3 cases, gastro-renal shunt in 9 cases, and simply liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension in 11 cases. Conclusion Portal CTA is a significantly important and useful examination method for portal hypertension patients, it could help to determine not only the range, degree and variation of esophageal and gastric varices, but also the etiopathogenisis of non-cirrhotic portal hypertension.

[Objective] To investigate the clinical characteristics and blood transfusion status of patients of liver cirrhosis and analyze its rationality.[Methods] We designed questionnaires to collect the data of patients admitted with liver cirrhosis including clinical features,blood transfusion,smoking,drinking and other living habits.We follow up the patients and analyze the blood transfusion rationality.[Results] Data on 198 patients was collected.34.8％ (69/198) of all patients were transfused at least one blood component.Total blood transfusion was 371 times,of which 52.2％ of the blood transfusion cases (36/69) were transfused with two or more blood during hospitalization.Among the 69 cases of blood transfusion,11 cases were treated with the first blood transfusion for the purpose of treatment and 58 cases for prevention.18 of those cases were infused with red blood cells of 90.5 units.54.55 ％ (60/110) and 60.91％ (67/110) of patients who had a pre-transfusion INR＞1.3 did not receive plasma.2.27％ (2/88) of patients who had a pre-transfusion INR≤1.3 received plasma.29.41％ (5/17)who had a pre-transfusion fib≤1.0 received cryoprecipitate.3.87％(7/181) who had a pre-transfusion fib＞1.0 received cryoprecipitate.[Conclusions] Blood transfusion is common in patients with liver cirrhosis.Empirical and preventive blood transfusion is common also.We should take a more scientific restrictive blood transfusion strategy.

Objective To optimize a W/O microemulsion formulation of troxerutin and evaluate its physical properties such as morphology, droplet size, stability and content of troxerutin. Methods The W/O microemulsion was optimized using a pseudoternary phase diagram and the area of the microemulsion region was used to screen and determine microemulsion components.HPLC assay was used for determination of the loading content. Results The optimal formulation contained lecithin, ethanol, isopropyl myristate and water (23.30:11.67:52.45:12.59).The microemulsion was physicochemically stable with round shape and uniform size, and the mean droplet size was about 50. 20 nm. Conclusion Microemulsion was developed successfully.It will expect to be the new preparation for troxerutin.

Objective To study the application of multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT) portography in diagnonsis of pancreatic portal hypertension. Methods Forty-seven patients with lesion in body or tail of pancrease,47 normal subjects and 126 patients with portal hypertension underwent MSCT portography with LightSpeed 16 CT scanner. The inner diameter of portal system and the main collateral veins were measured in maximun intensity projection (MIP) image. The volume of liver and spleen were also measured in volume rendering (VR) image. The liver parenchyma and main portal vein enhancement in portal vein phase were also taken. The endoscopy examination was made in 57 patiens with portal hypertension. Results In 47 patiens with lesion in body or tail of pancreas , stenosis or occlusion of spleen vein were found in 38 patients(pancreatic portal hypertension in 27 patients, chronic and acute pancreatitis in 11 patients). In 38 patients with pancreatic portal hypertension, esophageal varices was found in 5 patients(13.2%), gastric fundus varix in 25 patients (65.8%), gastric body variees in 22 patients (57.9%), short-gastric vein/post-gastric vein(SGV/PGV) in 26 patients (68.4%), coronal gastric vein in 26 patients (68.4%),dilated gasto-omenta vein in 24 patients(63.2%), mesenterica varicesin 1 patient, splenic vein occlusion in 14 patients (36.8%), splenic vein stenosis in 23 patinets(63.2%). Conclusions The patients with pancreatic portal hypertension were demonstrate characteristic changes in MSCT portography. The MSCT portography is helpful in etiological diagnosis of pancreatic portal hypertension by supplying images in vessel morphology.

Objective To evaluate the histologic changes in the dermis and the changes of the rate of type Ⅲ and type Ⅰ collagen by the radiofrequency device. Methods The effects of radiofrequency current on the dermis were observed. Ten rabbits were treated by radiofrequency, and the histologic change in the dermis were observed by H-E staining and Sirius red staining. Results After RF treatment, the fibers in the dermis appeared more compact and the quantity of the type Ⅲ (red) and type Ⅰ (green) collagen were both increased. The fibers in the dermis appeared more compact and the rate of type Ⅲ and type Ⅰ collagen was increased. It was also found that a significant proliferation of dermal collagen was observed in 8 days after treatment. As time went by, the proliferation of dermal collagen was more pronounced, and the rate of type Ⅲ was increased. Conclusion The radiofrequency current can increase the quantity of collagen in the dermis and increase the rate of type Ⅲ and type Ⅰ collagen, which may be one of the key mechanisms of facial rejuvenation by RF.
