1.Expression of p16 and CDK4 in human lung carcinoma
China Oncology 2001;11(2):123-124
Purpose:To study the expressions of p16 and CDK4 in human lung carcinoma. Methods:By using S-P immunohistochemical methods, the expressions of p16 and CDK4 in 62 cases of human lung carcnoma were studied. Results:The postive expressions for p16 and CDK4 protein were 58.1% and 48.4% respectively. A significant correlation was found between CDK4 overexpression and lymph node metastasis (P<0.01). A significant correlation between the under expression of p16 and overexpression of CDK4 was found. Conclusions:The results suggested that CDK4 overexpression plays an important role in metastasis of lung carcinoma.
2.Listeria monocytogenes meningitis in a child:a case report
Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2014;(4):352-354
Objective The clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes of Listeria monocytogenes (LM) meningitis were reviewed. Methods The clinical data of a case of LM meningitis were retrospectively analyzed and a literature review was performed. Results The child initially presenting with fever, headache and vomit was treated with amoxicillin/clavulanic acid and ceftriaxone and the treatment effect was obvious. Cerebrospinal fluid and blood cultures were LM positive. In 17 related arti-cles, a total of 24 children with LM meningitis were reviewed. Among them, 4 patients died and 10 had hydrocephalus. The treatment with either ampicillin alone or in combination with aminoglycoside was effective. Conclusions LM meningitis was rare in immunocompetent children, but has high rates of mortality and sequelae.
3.On the Concept of Clinical Thinking
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2002;0(01):-
At present the concept of clinical thinking is reviewed at the narrow senses and there are many limitations. So it is very necessary to understand the concept of clinical thinking at the broad senses.
4.Effects of Erythromycin on Voltage-dependent Potassium Current in Hippocampal Neurons of Mice
China Pharmacy 2001;0(10):-
OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of erythromycin on the voltage-dependent K~+ current in hippocampal neurons of mice.METHODS:Isolation of mice's hippocammal neurons cells and whole-cell patch-clamp techniques were applied to study the change of voltage-dependent K~+ current of hippocampal neurons and the current-voltage curves in mice before and after treatment with erythromycin.RESULTS:Erythromycin inhibited the voltage-dependent K~+ current of mice's hippocampal neurons, and it down-regulated the peak current from(810.67?250.86)pA to(529.96?171.83)pA(P

7. Study on apoptosis-inducing effect for mouse mammary cancer cells transfected with IL-23 gene in vitro and in vivo
Tumor 2008;28(10):842-846
Objective: To investigate the changes in apoptosis of mouse mammary cancer cells (MA-891) after transfection with IL-23 gene in vitro and in vivo and explore the anti-tumor mechanism of IL-23. Methods: IL-23 gene was transferred into two packing cell lines (ectotrophic ψ2 and amphotrophic PA317) in sequence by a retrovirus vector (LXSN), and the positive cellular clones that can produce retroviruses carrying IL-23 gene were screened by G418. The retroviruses were used to transduce the mIL-23 gene into mouse mammary cancer cells (MA-891). After being screened by G418, IL-23/MA-891 cells expressing IL-23 protein were obtained. The expression of IL-23 protein in IL-23/ MA-891 cells was detected by ELISA method. The proliferations of MA-891, LXSN/MA-891 and IL-23/MA-891 cells were detected by MTT assay in vitro. Mice were subcutaneously inoculated with IL-23/MA-891, LXSN/MA-891 and the parental MA-891 cells and the solid tumor formation was observed in vivo. The apoptosis of tumor cells from mice injected with different MA-891 cells was detected by TUNEL and flow cytometry analysis. The expressions of Fas and survivin were determined by RT-PCR and Western blotting in vivo. Results: IL-23 gene was successfully transfected into MA-891 cells. The stable IL-23/ MA-891 cells with over-expression of IL-23 was obtained. Transfection with IL-23 gene had significant effects on the proliferation and apoptosis of MA-891 cells in vitro (P > 0.05). But the tumor growth in mice was greatly inhibited and apoptosis ratio of tumor tissues was significantly increased in the IL-23 gene-transfected group compared with the control group (P <0.01). The expression of Fas on the surface of cells was up-regulated and the expression of survivin was significantly decreased (P <0.01). Conclusion: Transfection with IL-23 gene has no significant effects on the apoptosis of MA-891 cells in vitro. But IL-23 exerts its anti-tumor effect by up-regulating the expression of Fas and down-regulating the expression of survivin in vivo.
8.Analysis of reproductive performance after loop electrosurgical excision procedure for the management of CIN3
Yong XIE ; Wen-Qiong LU ;
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2006;0(08):-
Objective To investigate the effects of loop electrosurgical excision procedure(LEEP) on preg- nancy and delivery outcome in patients with CIN3.Methods Fifty-eight patients with CIN3 who were considering future pregnancies underwent LEEP from January 2003 to December 2006,and their following reproductive perfor- mances and delivery outcomes were observed. Results The mean time of the follow-up survey was 21 months(range from 6~42 months). There were 34 cases getting intrauterine pregnancies and 4 cases getting ectopic pregnancies. Among the 34 cases of intrauterine pregnancies,4 terminated by induced abortion and 1 by delayed abortion in early stage.21 cases delivered termed baby vaginally and 7 underwent cesarean section. No cervical dystocia had been re- ported. No disease recurrence had been found until the end of follow-up survey. Conclusion Loop electrosurgical ex- cision procedure is a safe and effective treatment for patients with CIN3.It will not effect the pregnancy and delivery outcome after LEEP.
9.Idiopathic intracranial hypertension and eye complications
International Eye Science 2008;8(7):1307-1310
Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is the syndrome of raised intracranial pressure (ICP) without clinical, laboratory or radiological evidence of intracranial pathology. IIH is a relatively rare disease but rapidly increasing incidence is reported due to a global increasing incidence of obesity. Disease course is generally said to be self-limiting within a few months. However, some patients experience a disabling condition of chronic severe headache and visual disturbances for years that limit their capacity to work. Permanent visual defects are serious and not infrequent complications. The pathophysiology of IIH is not fully understood yet. Advances in neuroimaging techniques have facilitated the exclusion of associated conditions that may mimic IIH. No causal treatment is yet known for IIH, and existing treatment is symptomatic and rarely sufficient. The aim of this review is to provide an updated overview of this potentially disabling disease.Theories of pathogenesis, diagnostic criteria and treatment strategies are discussed.
