Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2007;5(1):21-26
Objective: To observe the effects of needling Baihui (GV 20), Shuigou (GV 26) and Shenmen (HT 7) on cerebral glucose metabolism in patients with vascular dementia (VD) by cerebral functional imaging technique. Methods: Twenty-five patients with VD were divided into 5 groups (Group A, B, C, D and E) randomly. Patients in the Group A were treated by needling routine acupoints for hemiplegia (Acupoints of the three yang meridians of hand and foot), and besides the routine acupoints, patients in the Group B were treated by needling Baihui(GV 20), the Group C by Shuigou(GV 26), the Group D by Shenmen(HT 7), and the Group E by Baihui(GV 20), Shuigou(GV 26), and Shenmen(HT 7). All the patients were examined by Positron Emission Tomography (PET) to detect the cerebral glucose metabolism in the bilateral frontal lobes(orbital gyri), parietal lobes, temporal lobes(hippocampus and hippocampal gyrus), occipital lobes, thalamus, lentiform nucleus, caudate nuclei, cingulate gyms and cerebellum before treatments and after treatments. Results: After needling the routine acupoints for hemiplegia, glucose metabolism increased in lentiform nucleus and temporal lobe;needling Baihui(GV 20), increased in frontal lobe, temporal lobe and lentiform nucleus;needling Shuigou(GV 26), increased in frontal lobe, thalamus and lentiform nucleus; needling Shenmen(HT 7), increased in parietal lobe and lentiform nucleus; and needling these three acupoints, increased in frontal lobe, temporal lobe, thalamus and lentiform nucleus. Conclusion:Needling Baihui(GV 20), Shuigou(GV 26) and Shenmen(HT 7) affect glucose metabolism in different functional regions of the brain, and Baihui(GV 20), Shuigou(GV26) and Shenmen(HT 7) relate to different functional regions of the brain.
2.Research advances in the identification of clinical biomarkers for liver diseases using metabolomics based on ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry
Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2017;33(5):979-984
The biomarkers currently known for the early diagnosis of liver diseases often have poor sensitivities and specificities, and thus it is very important to find new biomarkers with high sensitivities and specificities for the early diagnosis of liver diseases. The emerging metabolomics technology has been widely used and may help to achieve this goal. This article reviewsthe research advances in the role of metabolomics based on ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry in the identification of biomarkers for liver diseases and emphasizes its significance in the early diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis evaluation of liver diseases.
3.Protective Effects of Quercetin on Daunorubicin-Induced Cardiomyocyte Injury
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(13):-
Objective To investigate the protective effects of quercetin on primary cultured SD neonate rats cardiomyocyte injury induced by daunorubicin. Methods Cultured cardiomyocytes were divided into blank groups,DNR groups,DNR+QUE groups,QUE groups. After preincubation of cardiomyocytes for 24 hours, cytoprotection effect was assessed by cell morphous, and cell apoptotic rates determined by flow cytometry, extracellular lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),superoxide dismutase(SOD) and malondialdehyde(MDA).Results Compared with DNR groups, the shedded cardiomyocytes and the cell debris of DNR+QUE groups decreased;the cardiomyocyte apoptosis rates decreased;the content of LDH and MDA decreased(P

China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2006;0(09):-
Specialists in the south of the five Ridges LUO Zhi-yuan think that upper-jiao syndrome of bubonic plague appears in the second and third days,middle-jiao syndrome in the period of the third to the sixth days, and lower-jiao syndrome appears at the seventh day.Upper-jiao syndrome of bubonic plague is the most complicated, including the severe syndrome, the critical syndrome, the deadly syndrome. They summarize the six symptoms and signs in middle-jiao of bubonic plague, including "extreme heat and thirst, black and prickly tongue, abdominal distention and pain, stercoroma and delirium, heat accumulation with watery diarrhea, cold feeling of the whole body and hidden pulse",and the four symptoms and signs in middle-jiao,including "pain, distention, stercoroma, heat accumulation with watery diarrhea".They also pointed out that preserving body fluid is key for treating lower-jiao syndrome of bubonic plague.

Objective To discuss the clinical characteristics and therapeutic strategy of contrecoup contusion and laceration in frontal lobe. Methods 48 cases with contrecoup contusion and laceration in frontal lobe were analysed retrospectively with their imaging feature. Results In accordance with the GOS,36 cases survived well, 8 suffered from moderate disability. One keept in persistent vegetative state and one was dead. Conclusion Contrecoup contusion and laceration in frontal lobe merged with occipital extradural hematoma and diffuse brain swelling. Early diagnosis and treatment for the delayed occipital extradural hematoma, and standard large trauma craniotomy in treatment of heavy contrecoup contusion and laceration with diffuse brain swelling in frontal lobe were the key measures to improve the rate of success rescue.

[Objective]To observe the cerebral activating effects of needling in Yanglingquan(GB34) vs a sham point of healthy volunteers based on the technique of fMRI.[Methods]Sixteen healthy volunteers were randomly divided into GB34 group and sham point group, and received needling in the different points on the right side respectfully.Super nuclear magnetic resonance(1.5T,GE Co.) was used to scan the brain and the obtained experimental data of the regional brain were processed and analyzed by method of Region of Interest(ROI).[Results]There was not any difference between needling in GB34 and the sham point in the cerebral activating rate. While the activating number of needling in the sham point was more than that of needling in GB34 in bilateral parietal lobes and right occipital lobe(P

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and therapeutic strategy of acute subdural hematoma. Methods A restrospective study was carried out with a total of 94 consecutive ASDH patients who were confirmed through computed tomographic scan and obtained the clinical characteristics by experienced neurosurgeons.15 cases werepure acute subdural hematoma and the other 79 cases were acute compound subdural hematoma according to CT scan. Results In accordance with the GOS,36 cases had good recovery,19 cases had moderate disability,17 cases had severe disability and 22 cases dead. Conclusion The most important treatment for pure acute subdural hematom was to diagnose the source of bleeding, and acute compound subdural hematoma had poor prognosis than pure acute subdural hematoma since the traumatic severity. Early decraniuim by large bone flap to treat acute compound subdural hematoma could improve survival rate, reduce the fatality rate and decrease postoperative complications.
