ObjectiveTo observe the effect of stimulating “Zhiyang” (DU 9) with electric acupuncture apparatus on contents of cAMP and cGMP in plasma of experimental acute myocardial ischemic rabbits.Methods40 rabbits were randomly divided into four groups: the normal control group (A), model group (B), model plus electric acupuncture on “Neiguan” (P 6) group (C) and model plus electric acupuncture on DU 9 group (D). The acute myocardial ischemic model was established by pituitrin (2 U/kg) injected into the vein of rabbit. Electrocardiogram (ECG) of Ⅱ leads was observed and contents of cAMP and cGMP in plasma were tested after electric acupuncture by radio immunoassay.ResultsThe cAMP contents of the group C and group D were lower than that of the group B significantly ( P<0.01), but not different from that of the group A ( P>0.05), and there was no difference between the group C and group D. The contents of cGMP were not different among four groups ( P>0.05).ConclusionPuncturing DU 9 can raise the myocardial endurance to the insufficiency of blood and oxygen. The effects of electric acupuncture on DU 9 and P 6 are the same.

BACKGROUND:The emergence of a large number of hidden blood loss during perioperative period of intertrochanteric fracture in the elderly not only increases the risk of perioperative period and complications, but also affects the postoperative recovery of joint function. At present, there is no relevant report about nutritional status and the hidden blood loss before surgery in and outside China.
OBJECTIVE:To identify the effect of nutritional status on preoperative hidden blood loss in elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture.
METHODS:183 elderly patients with fresh and initial femoral intertrochanteric fracture were included. Laboratory serological examinations on admission and preoperation were completed. By mini nutritional assessment, patients were randomly divided into normal-nourishment group, malnourishment at risk group, and malnourishment group. The original blood volume and preoperative hidden blood loss were calculated depending on height, weight, hematocrit on admission and preoperation. According to the proportion of mean preoperative hidden blood loss on the original blood volume, patients were divided into low and high hidden blood loss groups. We compared preoperative hidden blood loss, and their proportion on the original blood volume and the preoperative incidence of high hidden blood loss, and analyzed the correlations between preoperative high hidden blood loss and preoperative nutritional status.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) The nutritional status of elderly intertrochanteric fracture patients measured by mini nutritional assessment score was that the number of patients was 48 cases (26%) in normal-nourishment group, 64 cases (35%) in the malnourishment at risk group, and 71 cases (39%) in the malnourishment group. There were no obvious differences in the preoperative complications between any two groups (P>0.05). (2) Thirty-eight cases affected high hidden blood loss. The mean preoperative hidden blood loss was 260.43 mL. The proportion of preoperative hidden blood loss to the original blood volume was 6%. (3) The preoperative hidden blood loss, their proportion on the original blood volume and the incidence of high hidden blood loss were significantly higher in the malnourishment at risk group and malnourishment group than in the normal-nourishment group. Paired comparison showed significant differences (P<0.05). (4) Results confirmed that preoperative hidden blood loss, their proportion on the original blood volume and the incidence of high hidden blood loss gradual y increased with deterioration of nutritional status. The nutritional status is an important factor influencing the occurrence of preoperative hidden blood loss, and can be used as an important index for judging the high hidden blood loss and prognosis in elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture.

Objective to investigate the feasibility and outcomes of different surgical treatments for adrenal metastasis after previous radical ne-phrectomy for patients with renal cell carcinoma. Methods A total of 18 adrenal solitary metastasis of renal cell carcinoma were identified from da-tabase of two institutions between 2003 and 2013. Clinical and pathologic data were collected and analyzed. Results Of 9 patients who had ipsilater-al metastasis of the renal tumor, the estimated blood loss were obviously fewer in the transperitoneal LA group. Of 9 cases who had contralateral me-tastasis of the renal tumor, the fasting time[(1.4±0.8)h vs(4.0±1.4)h,P = 0.036]and length of hospital stay[(4.5±1.2)d vs(7.0±4.5)d,P =0.041]were obviously fewer in the retroperitoneal LA group. the averages of the fasting time and length of hospital stay in the retroperitoneal LA group were obviously smaller than in the transperitoneal LA group. Conclusion LA for treatment of renal cell carcinoma metastasis is technically feasible in selected patients. transperitoneal and retroperitoneal LA can be respectively recommended as an appropriate approach for isolated adrenal metastases of ipsilateral and contralateral renal cell carcinoma after nephrectomy.

Aim To screen peptides binding specifically to anti-human PTA1mAbs from a random twelve-peptide phage-disp-layed library. Methods Series of PTA1mAbs(LeoA1、 1B11、 C9、 2D1、 2E9、 2G8、 2H2 and E8)were purified using protein-A affinity column. PTA1mAbs which could bind PTA1-Fc fusion protein binding to its ligand were confirmed by flow cytometry, and then used as target to screen phage library. After three rounds of affinity screening, the peptide sequences of positive phage clones were determined and analyzed. Results LeoA1 could block PTA1-Fc fusion protein binding to its ligand. 13 phages which could bind specifically to LeoA1 were isolated from phage library and further confirmed by ELISA. Conserved motifs were found among the sequences of the peptides. Conclusion It was shown that the conserved motifs were candidafe regions binding to PTA1 ligand, which is important to identify functional epitopes for seeking ligand of PTA1 and further investigation of biological function of PTA1.
