4.Reiter's syndrome: A case report
The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1977;12(4):827-831
Reiters syndrome is a clinical triad of arthritis, urethritis and conjunctivitis, but the characteristic mucocutaneous lesions occur frequently enough to be included in this syndrome. This applies to the initial stage of the disease, in which the arthritis usually, but by no means invariably, comes triad, i.e. after the urethritis and conjunctivitis have made their apperance. In most instances the arthritisis is of subacute onset, reaching its full intensity within a few weeks. Some 50% of the patients suffer from recurrences of the arthritis. The chronic progressive polyarthritis occuring in Reiters syndrome has severe functional and anatomical repercussions. Here we report a case of Reiters syndrome in a 14 year old middle school boy. He had classical characteristic triad of arthritis, nonspecific urethritis and conjunctivitis. He had pyuria in first fewdays after onset and the arthritis of acute onset, reaching its full intensity within two weeks and then followed by conjunctivits. A review of literature was included.

7.Multiple Dermatofibromas in a Patient with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
Hyun Cheol LEE ; Kae Yong HWANG
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1994;32(1):193-197
We are reporting a case of multiple dermatofibromas which occuired during the treatment of systemic lupus erythematous with prednisolone for 3 years in a 30-yenr-old woman, All of the 26 lesions were 0.5-2cm sized. and had the same appearanes ad usual dermatofibromas coccurring singly. Histopathologic examination showed typical findings of dermatofibroma which were characterized hy proliferation of fibroblasts intermingled with collagen in irregular arrangement and proliferation of small vessels and endothelial cells.

8.Clinical Observation on Female Urethral Injury.
Young Jai LEE ; Yong Hyun PARK
Korean Journal of Urology 1983;24(1):79-82
Female urethral injury are very uncommon and encountered during traffic accident, trauma, instrumentation, operation and delivery. Treatment modalities are determined by the level of urethral injury. The result was better in the cases of rapid operative treatment than delayed one. In this report the clinical findings, patterns of injury and surgical managementof 4 cases were reviewed.

9.Effect of High-Dose Steroid Treatment on Adipogenesis and Secretion of PAI-1 in Rats.
Journal of Korean Orthopaedic Research Society 1999;2(2):117-124
This study was conducted to invetigate the effect of high-dose steroid administration on adipogenesis and secretion of PAI-1 in rat. Sixty healthy Wistar rats were divided into three groups. Group A consisted of 20 control animals received 5 ml/kg isotonic saline for 1 weeks. Group B consisted of 20 animals received 10 ml/kg of methylprednisolone intraperitoeally for 1 week. Group C comprized 20 animals received 10 ml/kg of methylprednisolone intraperitoneally for 1 week. After the completionof treatment, blood sampling was performed for measurenement of PAI-1 and the animale were sacrificed for histopathologic examination and immunohistochemical study. The PAI-1 protein expressin of femoral heads were evaluated with Western-blotting. Blood level of PAI-1 increased significantly in high-dose steroid treated group(Group B and C) compared to control group. In histopathologic examination, significant fat morrow conversion, fat cell hypertrophy and fat cyst formation were observed in high-dose steroid treated group. Immunohistochemically, PAi-1 expression was sprominent in the fat cells. Protein expression of PAI-1 of femoral heads increased significantly in highdose steroid treated group compared to control group. In lights of above results, it is postulated that increased secretion of PAI-1 from fat cells could play a major role in the pathogenesis of osteonecrosis of the femoral head in rats treated with high-dose steroid.
