During the period of 9.5 years from September, 1985 to March, 1995, 32 cases with spontaneous closure in simple ventricular septal defect(VSD) were observed and evaluated at Yeungnam University Hospital, and those were confirmed by 2D-echocardiogram. The results were as follows: 1. Among these 32 cases, there were 23 cases(71.9%) of perimembranous VSD, 8 cases(25.0%) of muscular VSD and 1 case(3.1%) of subarterial VSD. Septal aneurysms appears to be main mechanism of spontaneous closure of VSD because of the presence of septal aneurysm in all cases with spontaneous ',;losure of a perimembranous VSD. 2. The size of the defect was variable in diameter, but 27 cases(81.2%) were less than 5 mm. 3. The mean age was 12.1 months at spontaneous closure with the range from 1 month old to 72 months. 4. The mean weight was 9.0 kg at spontaneous closure. 5.--Among these 32 cases, 3 cases had the clinical evidence of cardimegaly or congestive hert -failure during infancy. 6. Male to female sex ratio was 1.5:1

A 25-year-old female was seen because of rnultiple, asymptornatic papular eruptions on the vulvar area since 1 year ago. She had been suffered from palmar hyperhidrosis for 3 years. A skin biopsy specimen from the vulval lesion revealed characteristic findings of syringoma.

A 72 years old man had an 1 x 1cm sized, solitary glomus tumor on the right knee joint and had suffered from sharp, episodic pain and tenderness, radiating to the right thigh and the buttock for about 20 years. Simple surgical excision was performed for removal of the tumor mass and the subjective symtoms. There is no recurrence until now.

We retrospectively analyzed 22 patients pelvic CT, in whom the acetabular fracture were suspected in plain film. And compared and analyzed the computed tomogram findings and plain radiographic findings. The results were as follows. CT enables better evaluation of shape, extent, and degree of separation of fragment. CT was helpful in detecting the combined fracture and soft tissue injuries. CT showed intraarticular loose bodies, which were invisible on plain film. In patients with pelvic trauma, no necessary changing position during CT examination. CT was useful demonstrates the remnant of intraarticular osseous fragment and adequacy of reduction after surgery.

Although we made a comparision of fingertip dermatoglyphic patterns between R7 patients with atopic dermatitis(Femals: 54, Male: 35) and 73 their families without atopic dermatitis, no significant results were obtained. So, we compared secondly our results of 2 groups with those of two thousand nonatopic, normal Koreans, as control. Results are as follows: ] In comparison with control, a significant increase in the ulnar loop pattern was detected in families(p<0, ()5), not atopic dermatitis. p. No significant differ ence between right hands and left hands in all three g f OUpS. In atopic dermatitis and control groups, 1 st and 4 th digits showed mostly whorl pattern, and 3 rd and 5 th digits had more ulnar loop pattern than others. Rut families had mostly ulnar loop pattern at all digits except 4 th digit, wl..orl pattern. 4. Each of atopic dermatitis, family and control group had 13, 79% (whor1: 8. 05% ulnar loop: 5 75%), 15. 49p; (whorl: 4. 23%, ulnar loop: 11. 27%), 15. 78%(whorl: 8, 52% ulnar loop: 7. 1 %, arch: 0. 05%), of same dermatoglyphic pattern on all ten digits. Especially, ulnar loop pattern in fanilies was detected significantly higher than other two groups(p<0. 05). Average incidences of bilateral symmetry of pattern type between right and left digits were 78.57%, 74. 67% and 78.74% respectively in atopic dermatitis, family and control group.

We report one case of hair follicle nevus, benign highly differentiating appendageal skin tumor of hair follicle. It arises from pluripotential cells that have formed during life. This patient is a 40-year-old woman who had a localized brownish plaque on the leht cheek for three years. Is superselective embolization of the brain AVMs, the possibilities of adjacent normal brain tissue damage necessitates preembolic evaluation. The authors performed the Sodium Amytal test on 15 patients with brain AVMs. In the AVM patients with negative Amytal test(30 cases), all patients showed normal pattern on EEG and neurologic examinations after embolization Among the five patients with positive Amytal test, three cases showed neurologic deficit and the others two didn't. In eleven patients. Repeated embolization without the Amytal test were done. Among them, 5 cases showed neurlogic deficit and the others were quite normal. In conclusion, the Amytal test is a useful method of evaluation of the risk to damage normal brain tissue which are supplied by superselected feeding vessels. Combining the EEG with this test is a sensitive and objective method in evaluating patients following the Amytal test. And it is essential to performed the Amytal test for repeat embolization procedures.
