4.Involvement of PI3K/Akt signaling in transforming growth factor-?_1 promoted epithelial-mesenchymal transdifferentiation of human kidney tubular epithelial cell
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(04):-
Objective: To investigate whether the signaling of PI3K/Akt is involved in epithelial-mesenchymal transdifferentiation (EMT) of human kidney tubular epithelial cell (HKC) promoted by transforming growth factor (TGF)-?_1. Methods: the HKC was cultured on plastic plates in the presence or absence of recombinant human TGF-?_1 and PI3K inhibitor wortmannin. The expression of total- and phosphor-Akt and ?-SMA was assessed at different time point by Western blot. Results: In HKC, basic level of p-Akt, ?-SMA expression was found in the normal condition. Profound increase of p-Akt was seen at 0.5 h after induction of 10 ng/ml TGF-?_1 in HKC.?-SMA increased markedly at 48 h after the treatment of TGF-?_1. Adding PI3K inhibitor wortmannin (10 nmol/L) largely abrogated the effect of TGF-?_1. Wortmannin was shown to down-regulate ?-SMA and p-Akt expression in response to TGF-?_1. Conlusion: PI3K/Akt is a downstream mediator in EMT of HKC promoted by TGF-?_1, and PI3K inhibitor wortmannin can significantly inhibit EMT induced by TGF-?_1.
5.Effect of activated PI3-K on epithelial-mesenchymal trans-differentiation of HK cells induced by TGF-?_1 in vitro
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(06):-
Objective To investigate the effect of activated PI3-K on epithelial-mesenchymal transdifferentiation of HKCs induced by transforming growth factor?1 (TGF-?1). Methods The human kidney proximal tubular epithelial cells (HKCs) cultured on plastic plates were divided into following groups: cultured with free serum medium (FSM); culture in the different concentrations of TGF-?1; cultured in the presence of recombinant human TGF-?1 and PI3-K inhibitor Wortmannin. The expression of total and phosphor-Akt (t-Akt and p-Akt) was assessed at different time points by Western blot,? smooth muscle actin(?-SMA) and E-cadherin were detected by Western blot. Results A marked increase in p-Akt was seen in HKC at 1h after being induced by TGF-?1, and its protein level was enhanced in a TGF-?1 concentration-dependent manner. Protein level of ?-SMA was increased markedly at 48 hours after the treatment of TGF-?1, but protein level of E-cadherin was decreased 48 hours after treatment of TGF-?1. Addition of PI3-K inhibitor Wortmannin (10nmol/L) largely abrogated the effect of TGF-?1. Wortmannin was showed to down-regulate ?-SMA and p-Akt expression and in response to TGF-?1 and up-regulate E-cadherin expression. Conclusion PI3-K was activated in epithelial-mesenchymal trans-differentiation of HKCs promoted by TGF-?1, and PI3-K inhibitor Wortmannin can significantly inhibit TGF-?1 induction of EMT.
6.Inspiration to hospital property right system reform from the legal person management structure of corporations
Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 1996;0(10):-
The authors first expound the connotations and origin of the legal person management structure and then discuss the following issues: the dual relation of agency by agreement characteristic of medical institutions, the need to take management structure as the priority of hospital reform in delegating powers to lower levels, the primary strategies and major means of the legal person management structure of corporations, and questions related to the management structure of the medical industry abroad: who should become the agent of the patient, how to unify the interests of the agent and the consignor by means of reasonable remuneration designs, etc. Finally the authors give an account of the inspiration that can be drawn from the legal person management structure to the public hospital property right system reform in China.

BACKGROUND: The renal transplanted recipients were in poor immunosuppressive state. Compared to common person, the bladder transitional carcinoma in recipients was aggressive and easy to recurrence. Looking for a more effective therapy method to decrease the recurrence of recipients' bladder transitional carcinoma is the hot and difficult problem in clinical study.OBJECTIVE: To analyze the efficacy and safety of submucosal injection epirubicin following transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TUR-Bt) to treat the recurrence of bladder transitional cell carcinoma in renal transplantation recipients.METHODS: Totally 9 renal transplantation recipients with transitional cell carcinoma of bladder were retrospectively studied. The patients' periods without cancer, the frequency of recurrence within one year, the rates of side effect, the changes of tumor grading following recurrence and allograff function were recorded when the routine method and submucosal injection epirubicin following TUR-Bt were used in different period respectively.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Submucosal injection epirubicin following transurethral resection of bladder tumor was safe and effective to treat bladder transitional cell carcinoma recurrence in renal transplantation recipients. Compared to the routine perfusion, periods without cancer and the frequency of recurrence within 1 year were significantly decreased, which can elevate recipients life quality and long-term survival rates.
8.Strain and Suicide:an Analysis of 155 Suicide Cases
Chinese Mental Health Journal 2009;23(11):784-789
Objective:To explore the strain experiences by suicides and to test the strain theory of suicide. Methods:A consecutive sample of 155 suicides(91 males and 64 females)aged from 15 to 34 years was studied with the psychological autopsy method.Informants consisted of family members and close friends of the suicides.Suicide stories were composed based on the background information of the suicides and what happened at the suicide site and then content-analyzed and rated by independent judges. Results:All of the victims had experienced at least one type of strain before suicide took place. The sequence of the 4 types of strains beginning with the most frequent one was coping strain,100%;aspiration strain,81%,deprivation strain,72% and value strain,45%.Generally,males experienced more coping strains, especially loss of money or investment than females [(8.85±3.64)vs.(7.72±3.77),(0.35±0.92)vs.(0.09±0.52);Ps<0.05],except for the traditionalism and modernity for status of women, religion and atheism [(0.08±0.37)vs.(0.53±0.97),(0.00±0.00)vs.(0.06±0.30);Ps<0.05].As age increased, value strain tended to increase(r= 0.16,P=0.048),whereas aspiration strain tended to decrease(r= -0.30,P<0.001).Conclusion:With the prevalence of dissonant stresses among suicide victims,it is suggested that crisis intervention and suicide prevention should begin with strain reduction through psychological counseling and therapy.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(12):228-229
BACKGROUND: Adolescent Intemet addition disorder(IAD) gradually appears with the rapid popularization of Internet in China. National researches are rare at present.OBJECTIVE: To analyze the status quo of Internet use and on-line behavior characters of college students and to provide scientific data for the prevention of adolescent IAD.DESIGN: A status quo survey by employing college students as subjects SETTING: Department of psychiatrics of a medical university-affiliated hospitalPARTICIPANTS: Totally 510 college students were selected from three different type universities of Shanxi province including Shanxi Medical University, Taiyuan University of Technology, Shanxi University of Finance and Economics between November 2003 and February 2004.METHODS: Totally 510 college students from three universities of Shanxi Province were assessed by IAD test and self-compiled questionnaire for on-line college students.and non-IAD students.RESULTS: The detectable rate of IAD in college students of Shanxi province was 6.2%. More male students( n =29) had IAD than female students ( n = 3 ). Weekly on-line time of IAD students was (18.59 ± 16. 12)hours, which was significantly longer than (5.61 ± 5.64) hours of non-IAD student( P < 0. 001 ) . There were significant differences of monthly on-line expenses, usual on-line place, opinions of whether intemet had negative impacts, understanding of their parents on internet functions they used, and the objective of on-line between IAD students and non-IAD students(P<0.05 -0. 001 ), while there were no significant differences of on-line history and the utilization of internet function between two groups of students ( P > 0. 05).CONCLUSION: The detectable rate of IAD in college students is relatively high and there is significant difference of on-line behavior characters between IAD students and non-IAD students, which should arouse attentions from the related department to prevent the occurrence of IAD.
