0.05),but there was a significantly difference in parameters between the nasal obstruction side and the no obstruction side in patients with nose deformities (P0.05). CONCLUSION The results indicate that acoustic rhinometry has great value in evaluation of patients with nasal deformities before operation and can provide clinical value for the evaluation of nasal function and geometrical structure.

Objective To investigate the predictive value of breast cancer susceptibility gene 1 (BRCA1) and class Ⅲβ-tubulin protein expression in tumor tissue for the efficacy of taxol and cisplatin combined chemotherapy (TP) in stage Ⅲβ/Ⅳ non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) patients. Methods A total of 92 stage Ⅲβ/Ⅳ NSCLC patients were recruited with 87 patients evaluated. Bronchoscopy or lung puncture tumor biopsy samples were obtained with BRCA1 and class Ⅲβ-tubulin protein expression examined immunohistochemically before chemotherapy. The patients were randomly assigned to be received 4 to 6 cycles of TP chemotherapy regiments and followed up until death or lost. Response rate (RR) , overall survival (OS) and time to tumor progression (TTP) were assessed. Results Among the 87 evaluated patients, the positive expression rates of BRCA1 and class Ⅲβ-tubulin were 57. 5% (50/87) and 48. 3%(42/87) respectively. There was no significant difference in clinical characteristics among patients with different positive expression rate. According to different expression of BRCA1 and class Ⅲβ-tubulin, the patients were divided into four groups: group A (low expression of both BRCA1 and class 1 p-tubulin) ,group B (high expression of both BRCA1 and class Ⅲβ-tubulin) , group C (high expression of only BRCA1) and group D (high expression of only class Ⅲβ-tubulin). The RR was higher in group A than other three groups (60. 7% , 34. 8% , 9/19 and 6/17 respectively). The OS and TTP were longer in group A than other three groups [OS: (539. 4 ± 17. 6) days, (267. 2 ± 20. 5) days, (325. 6 ± 24. 1) days and (283.7±26.2) days respectively ; TTP: (256. 9 ± 28. 4) days, (143.8±17.6) days, (179. 3 ± 19. 8)days and (152. 6 ±23. 5) days respectively]. There were no significant differences among the other three groups. Conclusions The expression level of BRCA1 and class Ⅲβ-tubulin in tumor tissue is probably a predictor for the efficacy of TP chemotherapy in NSCLC patients. TP chemotherapy is more suitable for the NSCLC patients with lower expression of both BRCA1 and class Ⅲβ-tubulin. Our study may provide a new sight for tailored chemotherapy in NSCLC patients.

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of high quality for super-selective renal artery embolization (SRAE) in treating bleeding after percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL).Methods 134 patients received percutaneous nephrolithotomy were divided into control group (67 patients) and observation group (67 patients).All of patients with serious bleeding after PCNL were given SRAE in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical College from June 2010 to June 2015.At the same time,we gave high quality nursing to observation group.The patients in control group received routine nursing.The effect of nursing was observed.Results The degree of hematuria disappear of the patients in observation group was higher than that in control group (P＜ 0.05).There were fewer complications in observation group.In the sixth month after discharge,none of them had obvious renal impairment.No recurrence of hematuria,pus kidney and urinary cyst was tested.All cases were satisfied with the treatment.Conclusion It's the key to prevent serious complications and cure successfully with effective and timely supervision and high quality nursing care during the perioperation of SRAE in treating bleeding after PCNL.

Objective To observe the changes of the brain function during reading recovery by using functional MRI (fMRI),and to provide the experimental data in elucidating the mechanism on the recovery of reading and language function.Methods fMRI was performed in a native Chinese patient with pure alexia on the 45 th and 130 th day after the onset,respectively.Three kinds of Chinese characters were presented during the scan and the patient was asked to make the judgement weather he could recognize the characters or not.The brain activation maps were acquired after postprocessing,and the activated location and volume were compared between the first and second experiments.Results In both experiments,Broca area,Wernicke area,and the right extrastriate were significantly activated,while the left extrastriate around the lesion was markedly activated only in the second experiment,and the volume of activation in the right extrastriate in the second experiment was about 3 times as large as that in the first experiment.Conclusion The left extrastriate cortex is one of the key areas responsible for reading function in the brain.The recovery of reading function can be compensated in contralateral corresponding cortical area,or it can be the result of reorganization in ipsilateral peri-lesion cortex.Both mechanisms may simultaneously play important roles in reading recovery.

Objective To study the effect of social isolation( SI) on the exploratory behavior and working memory in mice. Methods The Kunming mice of postnatal 21 days were divided into the control group,SI 2 weeks group,SI 2 weeks gregarious group,SI 4 weeks group and SI 8 weeks group,according to randomized design with ten animals each. All isolated mice were isolated for 2, 4 and 8 weeks respectively, the gregarious group were housed under normal grouped housing enviroment after isolation until adult, the mice with the relative same age were control groups. All animals were measured for exploratory behavior and working memory by performing open field and T?maze after the treatment. Results In the open field,compared to the relative control group,the central area of the total time in the SI 4 weeks group(0.07±0.04) was less than the control (0.10±0.04) obviously. The central area percentage of total time in SI 8 weeks group (0.64±0.12) were more than the control (0.43±0.08). In the T?maze,the alteration times in SI 2 weeks group (first day (5.92±0.79),second day (6.67±1.3),third day (7.42±1.08),fourth day (8.17±1.27)) were less than the control (first day (6.80±1.14); second day (7.60± 0.84);third day (8.30±0.95);forth day (9.20±1.32)). However,the alteration times of gregarious group showed no obvious change. Both the alteration times of SI 4 weeks (8.18±1.99) in the second day and that of SI 8 weeks (8.29±3.04) in the forth day were more than the control (6.60±2.11) and (7.80±2.53) respectively.Conclu?sions Working memory of SI 2 weeks rats decrease,which can be improved by the resocialization.SI 4 weeks and 8 weeks rats show the decreasing exploring ability and increasing anxiety and work memory.

ObjectiveTo explore the effects of social isolation on the cognition and expression of 5-HT2C receptor(5-HT2CR) and adenosine deaminase that act on RNA 1(ADAR1) in BALB/c mice.MethodsThe healthy BALB/c mice were isolated for 2,4,and 8 weeks individually since postnatal 21 days respectively to set up isolation mice model,the same age mice without isolation were regarded as control group.The new object location and the new object recognition tests were used to measure the spatial and non-spatial cognitive function,and western blot was used to measure the protein expression of 5-HT2CR and ADAR1.ResultsThe new object location test showed that the spatial discrimination index (DI) of BALB/c mice isolated for 2 weeks was decreased significantly compared with the control group(control group was (0.075±0.340),isolation group was (-0.653±0.308),P<0.05),and no obvious difference was found for the group isolated for 4 and 8 weeks.The new object recognition test showed that the non-spatial DI of BALB/c mice isolated for 2 and 4 weeks were decreased significantly compared with the control group(control 2 weeks group was (0.088±0.210),isolation 2 weeks group was (-0.945±0.194),P<0.05;control 4 weeks group was (0.105±0.267),isolation 4 weeks group was (-0.506±0.215),P<0.05),and no obvious difference was found for the group isolated for 8 weeks.Compared with the control group the expression of 5-HT2CR and ADAR1 in the hippocampus were decreased significantly for the group isolated for 2 weeks.(5-HT2CR:control group was (1.025±0.144),isolation group was (0.891±0.026),P<0.05.ADAR1: control group was (0.839±0.120),isolation group was (0.629±0.094),P<0.05).ConclusionsTwo week social isolation results in the decrease of spatial and non-spatial cognitive function in BALB/c mice,in the meanwhile,social isolation stress results in the obvious decrease of 5-HT2C receptor and ADAR1 protein expression in the hippocampus of BALB/c mice.

Objective To study the effects of social isolation (SI)on the spatial and nonspatial cognitive ability in mice.Methods The postnatal 21 day kunming mice were divided into control group,SI 2 weeks group,SI 4 weeks group,SI 8 weeks group and SI 2 weeks gregarious group according to randomized block design,with ten animals each.SI 2 weeks group,SI 4 weeks group and SI 8 weeks group were isolated for 2,4 and 8 weeks respectively,SI 2 weeks gregarious group would be housed under normal grouped housing condition after 2 weeks isolation until adult,the relative control groups were the same age as the relative SI and SI gregarious group.All animals were measured the spatial and nonspatial cognitive ability by carrying the object recognition test(ORT) and object location test (OLT) after the treatment.Results In the ORT,compared to the relative control group,the discrimination index in the SI 2 weeks group,SI 4 weeks group and SI 8 weeks group ( ( - 0.03 ± 0.003 ),( - 0.11 ±0.02) and( - 0.21 ± 0.02 ) respectively) were strikingly lower than the relative control group ( ( 0.29 ± 0.03 ),(0.13±0.07) and (0.09 ±0.03) respectively) (P＜0.05).In the OLT,compared to the relative control group,the discrimination index in the SI 2 weeks group,SI 4 weeks group and SI 8 weeks group( ( -0.15 ±0.02),( -0.30± 0.02),( - 0.32 ± 0.02 ) respectively ) were strikingly lower than the relative control group ( (0.33 ± 0.02 ),(0.41 ± 0.03 ),(0.27 ± 0.04)respectively)(P＜ 0.05 ),while the SI 2 weeks gregarious group with the resocialization to the normal housing condition showed no change.Conclusions 2 weeks,4 weeks and 8 weeks isolation on mice lead to the spatial and nonspatial cognition deficits,while the resocialization to the normal housing condition could recover the damage.

OBJECTIVETo explore the experimental method of obtaining position emission tonogiaphy (PET) imaging evidence of changes in cerebral function by puncturing the Stomach 36 (ST36, Zusanli) acupoint.

METHODSData on changes of cerebral glycometabolism were obtained from six healthy male volunteers with positron emission tomography. Visual experimental evidence, as well as statistical parametric mapping (SPM), was gathered while puncturing the ST36 (Zusanli, right leg) acupoint.

RESULTSThere was increased glycometabolism in the hypothalamus, head of the caudate nucleus, temporal lobe, the sinistral cerebellum, postcentral gyrus, and brain stem while the acupoint ST36 was being punctured.

CONCLUSIONSAcupuncture on ST36 can lead to increase in glycometabolism in the vegetative nerve centers, which is correlated with gastric function. Visual experimental evidence of ST36 acupuncturing on functional gastrointestinal disorder was obtained in our study.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) infusion transplantation via renal artery and via caudal vein in treating chronic kidney disease (CKD) in rats,and to compare the expressions of aquaporin1 (AQP1) and aquaporin2 (AQP2) between the two transplantation routes.Methods A total of 50 male SD rats were selected for this experiment.Two experimental rats were used to make preparation of bone marrow MSC.CKD model was established with infusion of adriamycin via caudal vein in 36 rats.The 36 CKD models were randomly divided into adriamycininduced renal failure model control group (A-C group,n=12),MSC transplantation through the right renal artery group (M-A group,n=12) and MSC transplantation through the caudal vein group (M-V group,n=12).The remaining 12 male SD rats were used as the blank control group (N group).One week after the last bone marrow MSC transplantation,the 24 h urine volume,24 h urinary protein content,serum sodium content and serum albumin level were measured,and AQP1 and AQP2 expressions in the kidney tissue were determined by immunohistochemistry.Results Compared with A-C group,the serum albumin level and 24h urine volume in both M-V group and M-A group were significantly increased (P＜0.05),while 24h urinary protein content and serum sodium content were remarkably decreased (P＜0.05).The 24h urinary protein content in the M-A group was obviously lower than that in the M-V group (P＜0.05).The AQP1 and AQP2 expressions in the kidney tissue in both M-V group and M-A group were strikingly lower than those in the A-C group (P＜ 0.05),but no statistically significant differences in AQP1 and AQP2 expressions existed between the M-V group and the M-A group (P＞0.05).Conclusion MSC transplantation can increase serum albumin,and lower urinary protein,serum sodium and the expressions of AQP1 and AQP2 in renal parenchymal cells,which has the effect on repairing renal injury of adriamycin-induced CKD rats.For a given period of time,the clinical curative effect of MSC transplantation via renal artery is better than that of MSC transplantation via peripheral vein,but the difference in curative effect between the two MSC transplantation pathways has no obvious correlation with AQP1 and AQP2 expressions.
