1.Conclusion of GAO Yu-chun's Experience in Acupuncture and Moxibustion in the ;Treatment of Hypertension

Based on the theory of the rise and fall of qi-blood in meridians, Professor GAO Yu-chun harmonizes the qi-blood and yin-yang for diagnosis and treatment of hypertersion from liver, spleen and kidney. With reference of the academic idea of“Preventive Acupuncture”, he investigated the qi and blood, treated diseases in the upper part by managing the lower part, pay attention to the syndrome differentiation of excess and deficiency, the different of acupoint property, and the treatment of acupuncture or moxibustion. Thus, through balancing yin and yang, the qi and blood are regulated to reach the therapeutic aim of“yin and yang in equilibrium”.
2.Efficacy observation on Governor Vessel-unblocking and mind-calming acupuncture for insomnia

Objective:To observe the effect of Governor Vessel-unblocking and mind-calming acupuncture on insomnia and further develop the academic idea on Gao’s lineage acupuncture. Methods:A total of 68 insomnia cases were randomly allocated into an acupuncture group (n=34) and a medication group (n=34) according to their sequences of consultation. Patients in the acupuncture group received acupuncture treatment once a day, 5 d a week, for 4 weeks. Patients in the medication group took 1 mg of Estazolam before sleep for each dose, one dose a day, for 4 weeks. Before and after treatment, the sleep quality was evaluated using the Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), and the efficacy was assessed using the PSQI reductive rate. Results:After treatment, the global PSQI score and scores of each component in the acupuncture group were significantly decreased (allP<0.01). The global PSQI score in the medication group was significantly decreased (P<0.01). Except for sleep disturbance, scores of the rest of components were significantly decreased (P<0.01 orP<0.05). The between-group difference was statistically significant in global PSQI score (P<0.01). Except for sleep latency and duration, scores of the sleep quality, efficiency, disturbance and daytime dysfunction in the acupuncture group were significantly lower than those in the medication group (allP<0.05). In addition, the recovery and marked effect rate in the acupuncture group was significantly higher than that in the medication group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The Governor Vessel-unblocking and mind-calming acupuncture is safe, reliable for insomnia and has better efficacy than Estazolam.
3.Efficacy observation on Governor Vessel-regulating and brain-unblocking acupuncture for post-stroke depression

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Governor Vessel-regulating and brain-unblocking acupuncture on post-stroke depression.
Methods:A total of 70 eligible cases were randomly allocated into an observation group and a control group according to the random number table. Patients in the observation group were treated with Governor Vessel-regulating and brain-unblocking acupuncture, whereas patients in the control group were treated with oral Escitalopram Oxalate tablet. The treatment lasted for 8 weeks. The Hamilton depression scale (HAMD), Montgomery Asberg depression rating scale (MADRS), and Barthel Index (BI) were used to evaluate the patients’ condition before, 4 weeks and 8 weeks after treatment respectively. In addition, adverse reactions were also recorded.
Results:After 4 weeks of treatment, the HAMD and MADRS scores were significantly decreased in both groups (P<0.05); and the BI scores were significantly increased in both groups (P<0.05). There was no between-group statistical difference in HAMD score (P>0.05); the MADRS score in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05) and the BI score in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After 8 weeks of treatment, there were no between-group statistical differences in all aspects (P>0.05); however, the adverse reactions in the observation group were significantly less than those in the control group.
Conclusion:The Governor Vessel-regulating and brain-unblocking acupuncture is safe and effective for post-stroke depression and can obtain similar efficacy as Escitalopram Oxalate tablet. In addition, it can fast alleviate core symptoms of depression and improve the activities of daily living (ADL) and has fewer adverse reactions.

Professor's experience is introduced in insomnia treated with the acupuncture technique for regulating the governor vessel and calming down the mind.'s acupuncture technique is in one of the series of character techniques in the acupuncture academic school in the region of Hebei province. Professorbelieves that insomnia resultes from the disharmony of the nutrient and the defensive and the dysfunction of spleen and stomach. The acupoints are selected on the basis of regulating the governor vessel, calming down the mind, nou-rishing the water and the wood to harmonize the mind, strengthening the spleen and stomach to calm down the mind, in which the acupoints of the governor vessel and theprimary points are used in combination. For regulating the governor vessel, Baihui (GV 20) and Shenting (GV 24) are used, combined with Zhongwan (CV 12) for regulating the nutrient and the defensive and calming down the mind. The-primary points of the heart, liver and kidney meridians are selected to nourish water and wood and harmonize the mind. Tianshu (ST 25), Zhongwan (CV 12) and Yinlingquan (SP 9) are used to strengthen the spleen and stomach and for the treatment of the root cause of disease. Additionally, the sequence of needling, the needling techniques for reinforcing and reducing, as well as needle withdrawing are considered. The idea of regulating the governor vessel and calming down the mind as well as the needling techniques for insomnia are considerably introduced in the paper.
5.Characteristics and significance of hr-HPV distribution of HSIL and cervical cancer in Hainan

Objective To explore the characteristics and significance of human papillomavirus (HPV) and high-risk HPV infection in cervical high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) and cervical cancer (CC) in Hainan, and to provide a reference for the prevention of HPV infection and cervical cancer screening. Methods From May 2017 to December 2019, 379 gynecological inpatients in our hospital were selected (as case group), including 220 cases in the HSIL group and 159 cases in the CC group. A total of 182 healthy females undergoing physical examination in the same period of time were selected as a control group. Using PCR technology and DNA reverse dot hybridization technology, the patients were tested for HPV-DNA subtypes which were divided into 13 high-risk types and 10 low-risk types according to HPV genotypes. The relationship between HSIL and CC of patients and high-risk HPV infection was analyzed. Results (1) The HPV infection rate of HSIL and CC patients in the case group (85.75%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (26.92%) (P<0.001). (2) HPV high-risk infections accounted for 94.14% in the HSIL group, while HPV high-risk infections accounted for 98.33% in the CC group. (3) In the HSIL group, the high-risk HPV infections in the 41 to 50-year-old group were higher than those in other age groups; in the CC group, the high-risk HPV infections in the >50-year-old group were significantly higher than those in other age groups. (4) In both the case group and the control group, single subtype infection was higher than multiple infection (P<0.001). Conclusion HSIL and CC patients in this area are mainly infected with single subtype and high-risk HPV. The infection exhibited certain differences in different ages.
6. Study on the relationship between age-related hearing loss and cognitive impairment

Objective:
To investigate the correlation between age-related hearing loss and cognitive impairment.
Methods:
201 elderly patients, who were admitted to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Peking University People′s Hospital from March 1, 2017 to March 31, 2017, were evaluated with hearing screening and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale. Among them, 101 were female and 100 were male, aged 60-90 years old. Taking the cognitive level as the dependent variable, and taking the age, sex, education, occupation, marital status, residence, and average hearing loss (average hearing threshold of 500, 1 000, 2 000, and 4 000 Hz), as well as the length of conscious hearing loss as the independent variables, the single factor analysis and multivariate linear regression analysis were used to screen the main factors affecting the cognitive level of the elderly.
Results:
Of the 201 elderly patients, 39 had normal hearing, 65 had mild hearing loss, 80 had moderate hearing loss, 16 had severe hearing loss, and 1 had profound hearing loss. The average degree of hearing loss was the influencing factor of cognitive impairment, and it mainly affected the directional force and abstract ability in the cognitive domains (

Central nervous system (CNS) injuries, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury, are essential causes of death and long-term disability and are difficult to cure, mainly due to the limited neuron regeneration and the glial scar formation. Herein, we apply extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by M2 microglia to improve the differentiation of neural stem cells (NSCs) at the injured site, and simultaneously modify them with the injured vascular targeting peptide (DA7R) and the stem cell recruiting factor (SDF-1) on their surface via copper-free click chemistry to recruit NSCs, inducing their neuronal differentiation, and serving as the nanocarriers at the injured site (Dual-EV). Results prove that the Dual-EV could target human umbilical vascular endothelial cells (HUVECs), recruit NSCs, and promote the neuronal differentiation of NSCs in vitro. Furthermore, 10 miRNAs are found to be upregulated in Dual-M2-EVs compared to Dual-M0-EVs via bioinformatic analysis, and further NSC differentiation experiment by flow cytometry reveals that among these miRNAs, miR30b-3p, miR-222-3p, miR-129-5p, and miR-155-5p may exert effect of inducing NSC to differentiate into neurons. In vivo experiments show that Dual-EV nanocarriers achieve improved accumulation in the ischemic area of stroke model mice, potentiate NSCs recruitment, and increase neurogenesis. This work provides new insights for the treatment of neuronal regeneration after CNS injuries as well as endogenous stem cells, and the click chemistry EV/peptide/chemokine and related nanocarriers for improving human health.
