Objective:
By analyzing the examination results of physical examination of workers exposed to DMF among 32 factories in some areas of a province, to investigate the working years of dimethylformamide (DMF) poisoning and the impact on the health status of exposed workers, and to explore the targeted intervention strategies.
Methods:
From February to May 2018, 2, 457 workers exposed to DMF in some areas of Jiangsu Province were selected as survey targets. Cross-sectional survey was conducted to investigate the health status of workers exposed to health, And the health surveillance data, detection data of occupational disease risk factors in the workplace were collected and analyzed, respectively.
Results:
The positive rate of abnormal liver function and B-ultrasound of males exposed to DMF was significantly higher than that of females. The abnormal rates of liver function, blood pressure and B-ultrasound in workers aged between 60 and 69 were higher in contrast to those in any other age groups. And the differences was statistically significant. In particular, the highest rate of abnormal blood pressure was found in workers exposed 21-30 years (39.2%) , the highest rate of abnormal liver function was found in workers exposed 11-20 years (44.3%) , and the highest rate of abnormal B-ultrasound was found in workers exposed 0-10 years (60.4%) .
Conclusion
Long-term exposure to dimethylformamide can affect workers’ liver function and blood pressure. Specifically, with the increase of contact age, the degree of chronic damage to liver, cardiovascular and other organs also increases.

Objective To explore the computed tomography (CT)manifestations of adrenocortical oncocytoma (ACO)for better understanding the disease and improving its diagnosis accuracy. Methods The CT manifestations of 9 cases with adrenocortical onco-cytomas confirmed by surgery were retrospectively reviewed and compared with pathological results. Results Five of cases were lo-cated in left side while 4 cases were in right side.Well defined and round or oval border could be found in all the cases.Of all the ca-ses,3 cases were solid lesions with equal density,< 3 cm in diameter, and mild consistent intensification after enhancement.Cystic lesion was detectd in 6 cases with > 3 cm in diameter. The mixed cystic and solid components with polycystic changes could be found on CT image, and remarkable intensification on solid lesion while no intensification on cystic lesion after the enhancement. Moreover, patchy or cotton-like shape could be found on solid lesion in 4 cases and 1 case with island like intensification;reticular pattern could be found in the central of lesion in 3 cases and 1 case with stellate shape.Pathological observation showed that the on-cotytomas were comprised of cells with abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm and necrotic and fibrous capsule without pathological mitosis could be found in some of lesion. Conclusion The characteristic CT features of adrenocortical oncotytoma has a worse specificity, its diagnosis was dependent on pathologic examination.
4.Childhood molluscum contagiosum treated with 585 nm pulsed dye laser: a clinical observation
Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2019;52(3):195-197
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of 585 nm pulsed dye laser for the treatment of molluscum contagiosum in children. Methods Between September 2016 and February 2017,50 children with confirmed molluscum contagiosum were enrolled from Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital of Zibo. These children were treated with 585 nm pulsed dye laser at energy of 6.0-9.0 J/cm2,pulse width of 0.5 ms and spot size of 5 mm.If a patient was not cured after 1 session of the laser treatment, another session of the laser treatment would be performed 1 month after the first treatment. If the proportion of regressed skin lesions was less than 30% after more than 2 consecutive sessions of the laser treatment, the treatment would be stopped. After the treatment, the patients were followed up for 6 months.During the follow-up,clinical efficacy was evaluated according to regression of skin lesions, and adverse reactions and recurrence were recorded. Results All the patients completed the trial. After the treatment,44 (88%)patients were cured, and the response rate was 94% (47/50).After 1 session of the treatment,32 (64%)patients were cured. After the laser treatment, purpura occurred instantly, hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation occurred in a short-term period, and no obvious long-term adverse reactions were observed.During the follow-up,no new wart was found at the site of regressed warts after the treatment. Conclusion The 585 nm pulsed dye laser shows good efficacy, safety and tolerance in the treatment of molluscum contagiosum.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of acupoint catgut embedding combined with abdominal massage in the treatment of female abdominal obesity with spleen deficiency and dampness. Methods A total of 300 female abdominal obesity patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into observation group (200 cases) and control group (100 cases) according to the ratio of 2:1 by random number table. The control group was treated with abdominal massage, while the observation group was treated with acupoint catgut embedding on the basis of the control group. The changes of body weight, waist circumference, waist-hip ratio, BMI, FPG, TC and TG levels before and after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the clinical efficacy was evaluated. Results After treatment, the body weight, waist circumference, waist-hip ratio and BMI of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group (t values were 10.869, 6.058, 2.941, 21.267, P<0.01 or P<0.05), and the serum levels of FPG, TC and TG were significantly lower than those of the control group (t values were 21.147, 18.325, 19.931, P<0.01). The total effective rate was 91.5% (183/200) in the observation group and 65.0% (65/100) in the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (χ2=32.671, P<0.001). Conclusions Acupoint catgut embedding combined with abdominal massage can improve the obesity index and blood lipid level of women with abdominal obesity, and the curative effect is better than that of abdominal massage alone.

Chronic alcohol consumption causes liver steatosis, cell death, and inflammation. Melatonin (MLT) is reported to alleviate alcoholic liver disease (ALD)-induced injury. However, its direct regulating targets in hepatocytes are not fully understood. In the current study, a cell-based screening model and a chronic ethanol-fed mice ALD model were used to test the protective mechanisms of MLT. MLT ameliorated ethanol-induced hepatocyte injury in both cell and animal models (optimal doses of 10 μmol/L and 5 mg/kg, respectively), including lowered liver steatosis, cell death, and inflammation. RNA-seq analysis and loss-of-function studies in AML-12 cells revealed that telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) was a key downstream effector of MLT. Biophysical assay found that epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) on the hepatocyte surface was a direct binding and regulating target of MLT. Liver specific knock-down of Tert or Egfr in the ALD mice model impaired MLT-mediated liver protection, partly through the regulation of nuclear brahma-related gene-1 (BRG1). Long-term administration (90 days) of MLT in healthy mice did not cause evident adverse effect. In conclusion, MLT is an efficacious and safe agent for ALD alleviation. Its direct regulating target in hepatocytes is EGFR and downstream BRG1-TERT axis. MLT might be used as a complimentary agent for alcoholics.
