Objective To assess the test-retest reliability of the Chinese version of Overactive Bladder Symptom Score (OABSS) and its correlation with other overactive bladder symptom (OAB)evaluation tools among Chinese OAB patients. Methods Fifty OAB patients completed the OABSS,PPBC, IPSS forms and a three-day voiding diary card for twice in day 0 and day 14±2, respectively.Test-retest reliability was examined using internal correlation coefficient (ICC) and weighted Kappa coefficients between first and second application of OABSS. The internal reliability was evaluated using Cronbach's α coefficient method. Pearson or/and Spearman correlation coefficients were calculated for testing the correlation between OABSS and IPSS, IPSS QOL, PPBC as well as clinical variables in the three-day voiding diary cards. Results ICC of OABSS total score was 0.9172, weighted Kap-pa coefficients of individual scores in OABSS were 0.5902-0.9274;Cronbach's α coefficients were 0. 3069 and 0. 3285, respectively. In the first and second application of OABSS, the Pearson correlation coefficients were 0. 2643-0. 6900 between OABSS and clinical variables in the three-day voiding diary card (except for average daily frequency of urination);the Pearson correlation coefficients were 0. 4734 and 0. 4929, and the Spearman correlation coefficients were 0. 4133 and 0. 4149 between OABSS and IPSS total score;the Spearman correlation coefficients were 0.4083 and 0.4127 between OABSS and PPBC. Conclusions The Chinese version of OABSS manifest test-retest reliability among Chinese OAB patients. It has also a high correlation with IPSS total score, PPBC and clinical variables in the three-day voiding diary cards.

Objective:To observe the effect of goal-oriented management of continuous monitoring of regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rSO 2) on early postoperative neurocognitive disorders (PND) in elderly spinal surgery patients. Methods:From November 2018 to July 2019, 60 patients undergoing posterior lumbar interbody fusion in the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University were selected and randomly divided into control group and intervention group, 30 cases in each group. RSO 2 was recorded before anesthesia induction (T 0), 10 min after anesthesia induction (T 1), 10 min after prone position (T 2), 10 min after spinal decompression (T 3), 30 min after spinal decompression (T 4) and 10 min after extubation (T 5); The basic value of rSO 2, the minimum value of rSO 2 (rSO 2min), the average value of rSO 2 (rSO 2mean) and the maximum percentage of decrease of rSO 2 (rSO 2% max) were recorded. When rSO 2 <55% or rSO 2% max >10% and the duration was longer than 15 s, the intervention group took measures such as adjusting head position, adjusting blood pressure, increasing FiO 2 and respiratory parameters, increasing P ETCO 2 until rSO 2 returned to the required range; The control group did not interfere with the intraoperative rSO 2. Neuropsychological tests were used to evaluate the cognitive function of the two groups 7 days after operation. The patients were followed up 30 days after operation with the revised cognitive function telephone questionnaire (TICS-M). The incidence of postoperative neurocognitive impairment (PND) was recorded. The perioperative data and postoperative adverse reactions of the two groups were recorded. Results:At T 3 and T 4, the rSO 2 of the intervention group was significantly higher than that of the control group ( P<0.01), the intraoperative rSO 2min and rSO 2mean of the intervention group were higher than the control group, and the rSO 2%max was lower than the control group ( P<0.05). The incidence of PND 7 days after surgery, extubation time, postanesthesia care unit (PACU) stay time, hospital stay and postoperative adverse reactions in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group ( P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of PND 30 days after operation between the two groups ( P>0.05). Conclusions:The goal-oriented management of rSO 2 can reduce the incidence of early postoperative PND in elderly spine surgery patients, which is conducive to the rapid recovery of patients after surgery.

Endometriosis is a common chronic gynecological disease with endometrial cell implantation outside the uterus.Angiogenesis is a major pathophysiology in endometriosis. Our previous studies have demon-strated that the prodrug of epigallocatechin gallate(ProEGCG)exhibits superior anti-endometriotic and anti-angiogenic effects compared to epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG).However, their direct binding targets and underlying mechanisms for the differential effects remain unknown. In this study,we demonstrated that oral ProEGCG can be effective in preventing and treating endometriosis.Additionally,1D and 2D Proteome Integral Solubility Alteration assay-based chemical proteomics identified metadherin(MTDH)and PX domain containing serine/threonine kinase-like(PXK)as novel binding targets of EGCG and ProEGCG,respectively.Computational simulation and BioLayer interferometry were used to confirm their binding affinity. Our results showed that MTDH-EGCG inhibited protein kinase B(Akt)-mediated angiogenesis, while PXK-ProEGCG inhibited epidermal growth factor(EGF)-mediated angiogenesis via the EGF/hypoxia-inducible factor(HIF-1a)/vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)pathway. In vitro and in vivo knockdown assays and microvascular network imaging further confirmed the involvement of these signaling pathways. Moreover, our study demonstrated that ProEGCG has superior therapeutic effects than EGCG by targeting distinct signal transduction pathways and may act as a novel anti-angiogenic therapy for endometriosis.

The effect of vitamin D supplementation on individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is inconclusive. We aimed to conduct a meta-analysis of the available randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to explore whether vitamin D supplementation can improve core symptoms and coexisting conditions in children with ASD. Data were obtained by searching the PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL and Cochrane Library databases up to February 2022 following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Using a random-effects model, mean differences with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated through a meta-analysis. There were eight RCTs with 266 children with ASD in the present review, among which six RCTs were included in the meta-analysis.Children who received vitamin D supplementation showed a significant improvement in stereotypical behavior scores (pooled mean difference (MD): −1.39; 95% CI: −2.7, −0.07; p = 0.04) with low heterogeneity (I2 = 34%), and there was a trend toward decreased total scores on the Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS) and Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS, p = 0.05); however, there were no other significant differences in the core symptoms of ASD and coexisting conditions between groups as measured by the Aberrant Behavior Checklist (ABC). Vitamin D supplementation appears to improve stereotypical behaviors but does not improve other core symptoms and coexisting conditions. Further randomized controlled trials with large sample sizes and individualized doses are needed.

OBJECTIVE: To compare the diagnostic value of high-k V X-ray chest photography and chest high-resolution computed tomography( HRCT) in the diagnosis of pulmonary thesaurosis induced by dust of iron and its compounds(hereinafter called the iron pulmonary thesaurosis). METHODS: A total of 80 workers exposed to iron oxide dust in a magnetic material factory were collected as the study subjects by convenience sampling method, and they were examined with high-k V X-ray chest photography and HRCT. Differences between the two methods in the diagnosis of iron pulmonary thesaurosis were compared. RESULTS: Of the 80 workers, only 5 of them(6. 2%) showed no abnormal changes in chest HRCT,others showed varying degrees of diffuse distribution of air-cavity nodules and ground-glass lesions. High-k V X-ray chest photography and chest HRCT diagnosis of iron pulmonary thesaurosis accounted for 8. 8%( 7/80) and 37. 5%(30/80) with extreme mild degree, and 21. 3%(17/80) and 26. 3%(21/80) with mild degree respectively. The diagnostic rates for iron pulmonary thesaurosis were 30. 0%( 24/80) and 63. 8%( 51/80),respectively. There was consistency between the two methods for the diagnosis of iron pneumoconiosis( Kappa = 0. 411,P < 0. 01). The chest HRCT has a higher diagnostic classification and diagnosis rate compared with the high-k V X-ray chest photography( P <0. 01). CONCLUSION:s The chest HRCT has a higher diagnostic grade and higher diagnostic rate for lung siderosis compared with the high-k V X-ray chest photography, which is helpful for the early diagnosis of the disease.

Objective:To explore the application value of qualitative characteristics and quantitative parameters of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in the differential diagnosis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and non-PDAC presenting as pancreatic solid focal lesions. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 64 cases of PDAC(the PDAC group) and 52 cases of non-PDAC(the non-PDAC group) who underwent CEUS examination at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from July 2022 to June 2023. Clinical characteristics, two-dimensional ultrasound features, CEUS qualitative characteristic, and quantitative parameters were compared between the two groups. ROC curves were plotted, and the Delong test was used to evaluate the diagnostic performance of qualitative and quantitative analyses in distinguishing PDAC from non-PDAC. Binary logistic regression analysis was employed to assess the independent predictors of PDAC.Results:①There were significant differences in serum CA19-9, lesion size, boundary, the main pancreatic duct (MPD) diameter, degree of enhancement and enhancement pattern between the PDAC group and the non-PDAC group (all P<0.05). ②The relative peak intensity (rPE), and relative wash-in and wash-out area under the curve (rWiWoAUC) were lower in the PDAC group than the non-PDAC group, with statistically significant differences(all P<0.001). ③The areas under the curve (AUC) for diagnosing PDAC using enhancement pattern, venous phase(VP) enhancement degree, rPE, and rWiWoAUC were 0.698, 0.707, 0.863, and 0.867, respectively. The AUCs of quantitative parameters were superior to those of qualitative characteristics, with statistically significant differences ( P<0.05). Using CEUS mode B, low VP enhancement, rPE<72.44, and rWiWoAUC<86.59 as cut-off values, the accuracies for diagnosing PDAC were 0.698, 0.741, 0.828, and 0.802, respectively. ④Serum CA19-9, lesion size, MPD diameter, rPE, and rWiWoAUC were independent predictors of PDAC (all P<0.05). Conclusions:CEUS qualitative and quantitative analyses are helpful in the differential diagnosis of PDAC and non-PDAC, with rPE and rWiWoAUC being useful indicators for diagnosing PDAC.
