Journal of Third Military Medical University 1983;0(03):-
The instantaneous changes of the body cavities under the impact of blast waves were studied in three dogs. The changes were recorded with the high-speed photography of three different speeds (563, 1526, and 6526 frames/second). It was demonstrated that there was an 11.7% reduction on average of the body cavities due to compression after 0.777 kg/cm2 of overpressure was received. In correlation with the authors' previous research work and with the relevant literature, it is believed that the 11.7% reduction is likely related to the severe pulmonary injury which is resulted from the abrupt disturbance of hemodynamics after blast wave impact.

AIM: To study on the differences of chemical compos i tion between extracts of Bushen recipe prepared by decocting together and single , with fingerprint technology. METHODS: The extracts of Bushen recipe were prepared by decocting together and single under the same process. The comparison was done under the different wavelength s and different brand columns, HPLC method determined the extract's fingerprint within the range of optimized conditions. RESULTS: The ratio of The compositions and its main chemical substa nces are the different between the two extracts, and the extract rate of the main chemical substances are higher in extrat decocted single than in extract decocted togethe r. CONCLUSION: There are some chemical substances and composition's ra tio differences in the extracts of Bushen recipe made by decocting together and single.

A comprehensive, geometrically accurate, nonlinear C0-T1 three-dimensional finite element (FE) model was developed for the biomechanical study of human cervical spine and related disorders. The model was developed with anatomic detail from the computed tomography (CT) images of a 46-year-old female healthy volunteer, and applied the finite element model processing softwares such as MIMICS13.1, Hypermesh11.0, Abaqus 6.12-1, etc., for developing, preprocessing, calculating and analysing sequentially. The stress concentration region and the range of motion (ROM) of each vertebral level under axial rotation, flexion, extension, and lateral bending under physiologic static loadings were observed and recorded. The model was proven reliable, which was validated with the range of motion in previous published literatures. The model predicted the front and side parts of the foramen magnum and contralateral pedicle and facet was the stress concentration region under physiological loads of the upper spine and the lower spine, respectively. The development of this comprehensive, geometrically accurate, nonlinear cervical spine FE model could provide an ideal platform for theoretical biomechanical study of human cervical spine and related disorders.

Objective To investigate the effects of self-efficacy-oriented nursing intervention on postoperative quality of life of lung tumor patients. Methods Ninety patients with lung tumors undergoing chest surgery in our hospital from March 2010 to March 2012 , involved in the study. The nursing data were retrospectively analyzed for investigation of the nursing strategies. The patients were randomized into two group with random digits table in equal number: The control group received routine nursing and the intervention group with self-efficacy-oriented nursing intervention beside routine nursing care. 3 months after nursing intervention , the two groups were compared by Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) in terms of quality of life and psychological state. Results The scores of the intervention group by SDS and SAS were both significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The scores of the intervention group on self efficacy and quality of life were significantly higher than those of the control (P < 0.05). Conclusion The self-efficacy-oriented nursing intervention applied in the postoperative nursing care to lung cancer patients can significantly improve the postoperative symptoms and psychological status. It can also improve their self efficacy and then enhance their quality of life.

A reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography method for the simultaneous analysis of 23 kinds of phenolic components in water extract of porpolis (WEP) was developed. The separation was performed on ZORBAX Eclipse XDB C_(18) column (150 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) by gradient elution. The mobile phase consisted of ethanol with 0.1% formic acid at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelengths were 256 and 280 nm. The injection volume was 20 μL, and the column temperature was maintained at 35 ℃. The method showed good linear relationship, precision and repeatability. The recoveries were between 93.3% and 106.6%. Eighteen Reference compounds were detected in WEP of Hehei by this method. The content of Catechin was the highest(30.50 mg/g), the next was 3,4-dimethoxycinnamic acid (15.41 mg/g). Nine Reference compounds were detected in WEP of Yunnan. The content of catechin was also the highest (11.23 mg/g), the next was chrysin (15.41 mg/g). Similarity of WEPs between the products of Hebei and Yunnan were 0.099 (256 nm) and 0.194 (280 nm). The chemical compositions of two WEPs were remarkably different.

Objective To establish a proper extraction method for Yangxue Ruanjian Prescription (YRP) by comparing the chemical component contents and analgesic and anti - inflammatory effect of extracts extracted from YRP by different methods. Methods Water - decocting, alcohol - refluxing and alcohol - percolating methods were adopted and component indexes of paeoniflorin and gentiopicrin were determined by HPLC. The anti - inflammatory effect of the extracts were observed on mice with xylol - induced auricular swelling and analgesic effect by hot - plate method. Results The content of gentiopicrin is similar in the extracts extracted by three methods and the content of paeoniflorin is higher in alcohol - percolating extract than in alcohol - refluxing extract, lowest in water - extraction. The analgesic effect of water - decocting extract is better than that of alcohol - refluxing extract, and that of alcohol - percolating extract is weakest; the anti - inflammatory effect of the three extracts is almost the same. Conclusion Water - decocting extraction is suitable to YRP, and this is determined by the characteristics of Chinese compound prescription.

Objective To compare the effect of glucosamine (Virtral-s) on the cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) secretion of chondrocytes and synoviocytes in vitro. Methods Chondrocytes and synoviocytes isolated from knee cartilage of osteoarthritic patients were cultured by phased enzymatic digestion.Sera containing Virtral-s of the experimental animals were obtained after orally administrated Virtral-s at the dosages that equal to human.Cells were cultured in the medium with Virtral-s containing sera.Super-natant COMP level was tested by enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assays (ELISA).Results COMP conceu-tration of synoviocytes cultured in vitro was significantly higher than that of chondrocytes (P<0.05).Virtral-s could significantly increase COMP secretion in cultured chondrocytes in vitro (P<0.05),however,it had a weaker role on synoviocytes,ie,it could only mildly reduce COMP secretion of synoviocytes. Conclusion Glucosamine (Virtral-s)-containing serum can promote COMP secretion of chondrocytes in vitro, and it has no significant effect on synoviocytes in vitro.

Objective To investigate the social support of clinical nurses in second-level hospitals in remote areas of Tibet, and to explore the influencing factors, so as to provide the basis for nursing managers to develop targeted interventions. Methods A total of 212 nurses were selected by convenient holistic sampling method and investigated by self-designed questionnaire and social support rating scale. Results The total score of social support of clinical nurses was (30.72 ± 6.78) points. The main influencing factors of social support were educational background(F=4.602),ages(F=2.694),working years (F=2.387), budgeted posts(t=2.391), income(F=3.112) and marital status (F=2.636). Difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions The social support of clinical nurses in second-level hospitals in remote areas of Tibet is low. It is important to establish a relatively perfect social support system according to the difference of nurses working conditions and geographical to improve their work enthusiasm and satisfaction rate.

The etiology underlying ischemic stroke is still elusive. Previous studies have indicated that inflammation might play a key role in the pathogenesis, which provided a novel insight into the therapeutic strategy of ischemic stroke. In this review, we summarize some drugs which regulate the activation and polarization of microglia and further alleviate neurological symptoms.
