Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2014;(1):59-61,62
To tackle the problems found during cell biology teaching in English for medical oversea students, following teaching principles and management regulations were proposed:strength-ening the basic knowledge, improving the teaching materials, optimizing the teaching contents,clev-erly designing the teaching scheme ,rationalizing the teaching schedule ,elaborately preparing and giving the lessons, enhancing the class interaction between teachers and students, and timely collect-ing teaching feedback. The above measures provided theoretical foundations for the effective education and training of medical oversea students.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 1983;0(03):-
Spinal sensory evoked potential(SSEP)and spinal motor evoked potential(SMEP)of the injured spinal cord of the host rats were determined on the 7th,15th,30th.60th,120th and 240th day after they received implantation of the embryonic spinal cord from the fetus of E14 rats. The motor function of the hind limbs of the host rats were also observed. The rats with simple cord injury and those with cord injury and implantation of a piece of skeletal muscle served as the controls. It was found that the locomotor function of the host rats could be recovered on the 30th day after implantation, but the latent period of both SSEP and SMEP became normal on the 240th day.At that time, the latent period of evoked potentials of the 2 control groups also recovered gradually. It is believed that embryonic spinal cord may have effects on the recovery of the locomotor function of the host rats but more sophisticated methods are imperative to clarify the interela-tionship between the host tissue and the graft.

Objective: To report one case of primary cardiac schwannoma (PCS) with review of literature. Methods: One patient with primary malignant cardiac schwannoma (PMCS) was treated surgically in our hospital and relevant data of 18 cases were collected from international literature. Clinical features, diagnosis and surgical treatment of PCS were discussed. Results: 17 cases were PMCS and 2 cases were primary benign cardiac schwannoma (PBCS). Operation was performed in 11 cases. The locations of mass were both superior vena cava and right atrium in 2 cases, inferior vena cava and right atrium in 1, pulmonary vein and left atrium in 1, right atrium in 1, left atrium in 3, right ventricular outflow tract in 2, and intrapericardial in 1. The long-term results for resected PCS were excellent, but for PMCS were very poor. Conclusion: PCS is an extremely rare disease. The diagnosis dependents on clinical features, M-mode and two-dimensional echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, and histopathological and immunohistochemical findings. It is concluded that most PBCS can be resected completely with good results. PMCS can not be resected completely either because of the extent spread and invasion or frequent distant metastasis. The prognosis is dismal and early cardiac transplantation probably offers the only hope for patients with PMCS.

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2014;(4):908-914
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a commonly encountered central neurodegenerative disease in elderly people. According to theories of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), PD is characterized by deficiency in the root and excess in the branch. Deficiency was referred to qi-blood deficiency of the liver and kidney. Excess was referred as the wind, fire, phlegm and stasis. Deficiency was the root and excess was the branch. Good efficacies have been obtained by treatment based on syndrome differentiation, treatment with specific prescriptions, acupuncture and moxibustion and comprehensive treatment. Some experiments had been conducted to elucidate its mechanisms. However, no uni-fied standard for therapeutic evaluation, poor control of medicinal quality, inferior quality of designed clinical trials, and unclear treatment mechanism in the clinical study on therapeutic effect of PD treatment with TCM require fur-ther studied.

Aim To investigate whether F951,a novel Bcl-2 antisense oligodeoxynucleotide,down-regulates Bcl-2 expression in HL60 cells and inhibits HL-60 cells proliferation. Methods HL60 cells were cultured with F951 in variant doses. The proliferation of HL60 cells was assayed by MTT and Typan Blue exclusion test.Expression of Bcl-2 protein and its mRNA was measured by FACS and RT-PCR respectively. The apoptotic cells were detected by DNA ladder. Results After HL60 cells were treated with F951 in 5,10,20 ?mol?L~(-1) doses respectively for 1~5 days, they showed apparent inhibition of proliferation. With the improvement of the concentration of F951 and the prolongation of the time of treatment, F951 showed stronge effect in the aspect of inhibiting the HL60 cells proliferation. It was determined with MTT method that the inhibition rates of HL60 cells treated with 5,10,20 ?mol?L~(-1) F951 were 20.56%, 37.66%, 54.11% respectively. F951 significantly down-regulated the expression of Bcl-2 mRNA and protein in the HL60 cells.Typical DNA ladder was seen from gel electrophoresis. With the improvement of the concentration of F951,it showed more apparent effect in the aspect of inducing DNA ladder. Conclusion F951 can inhibit cells proliferation through down-regulating Bcl-2 gene expression and promoting cells apoptosis in HL60 cells.

Aim To observe the apoptosis of human leukemic cells induced by F951, a novel bcl-2 antisense oligodeoxynucleotide. Methods HL60 cells were cultured with F951 in variant doses. Apoptotic cells were detected by flow cytometry, DNA ladder, electron microscope observation and terminal-deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated nick end labeling (TUNEL). Results After HL60 cells were treated for 48 hours, mitochondria apoptotic cells can be detected at the ratio of 3.00% in the untreated group, 13.57% in the FNS control group and 30.95%, 38.08%, 52.55% with 5, 10, 20 ?mol?L-1 F951 respectively; the ratio of cells with caspase activity was 0.08% in the untreated group, 0.14% in the FNS control group and 43.68%, 60.54%, 80.37% with 5, 10, 20 ?mol?L-1 F951 respectively. Typical DNA ladder was seen from gel electrophoresis in F951 treated groups, and more apparent effect in the aspect of inducing DNA ladder had been observed with the improvement of F951 concentration. Detected through TUNEL and electron microscope, apoptotic cells in untreated group and FNS control group can only be found by chance, but very commonly seen in F951 treated groups and more frequently with the improvement of F951 concentration. Conclusion F951 can induce cell apoptosis in HL60 cells. Such effect is achieved through the inhibition of bcl-2 gene expression by F951 which initialize apoptosis passageway in consequence.

Objective To evaluate the applicable value of two - dimensional speckle tracking imaging on assessing the local function and coronary collateral circulation of acute myocardial ischemia in dogs. Methods Open-chest model to induce acute myocardial ischemia in 10 dogs was established by ligating their anterior descending coronary artery(LAD). Two-dimensional dynamic gray- scale images of two standard left ventricular short axis views at the levels of mitral annulus and papillary muscle were acquired for the off -line comparative analysis before the operation and 0, 30, 60, 120, 240 and 360 minutes after the operation respectively. Peak systolic circumferential strain(CS), peak systolic radial strain(RS) and left ventricular fraction shortenting(LVFS) of 12 segments at the levels of mitral annulus and papillary muscle were analyzed with QLAB software. After the lab experiment, the fresh hearts of dogs were dyed by TTC.Results ①Compared with the preoperative value , the peak systolic CS and RS of ischemia myocardial regions(anteroseptum, anterior and lateral) in left ventricular short-axis decreased significantly( P <0. 05)during 30 to 60 minutes after ligating LAD. Sixty minutes later, the peak systolic CS and RS had a tendency to return to the level before the operation, although the statistical difference was existing. The peak systolic RS and CS also decreased in certain nonischemic regions (inferolateral and inferior). But CS and RS in inferoseptal regions didn't alter significantly. ②Compared with the preoperative value,LVFS in the ischemia regions were significantly decreased( P <0.05), while nonischemic regions had no significant difference. ③The results of TTC dyeing showed that the infarcted regions in left ventricular short-axis were anteroseptum, anterior and lateral with blood supplied by LAD, which were consistent with the results of RS and CS. Conclusions RS and CS,as the parameters of myocardial strain may reflect the range and extent of acute myocardial ischemia, and the strain changes of local myocardial segments after the construction of coronary collateral circulatory.
