Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2013;20(2):178-180
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of normal parathyroid and hyperthyroidism by high frequency ultrasound. Methods Philips U22 the ACUSON SE-QUOIA 512 ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus inspections of parathyroid were used to detect 39 cases hyperthyroidism patients and 200 cases of healthy persons.Probe frequency was 5 ~ 12MHz.Record the size, number, shape, echo strength and blood supply of parathyroid were recorded. Results The display rate of high frequency ultrasound was 89.7% for hyperparathyroidism; And the lesions gland increased, low echo, hyperechoic can co-exist and the boundary were clear;varying sizes signals of blood flow. The display rate of normal parathyroid was 79.5%,mostly often appearsed oval hyperechoic, with little or no blood flow signal.Condusion The high-frequency ultrasound at the same time both the detection of the morphology and hemodynamics, can be an effective means of diagnosis of secondary hyperparathyroidism or parathyroid positioning in the surgical treatment to provide accurate and reliable message.
2.Anaerobic bacteria in solid tumor treatment
Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(4):278-281
Anaerobic bacteria can selectively colonize and cause oncolysis in hypoxic and necrotic areas of solid tumors. Gene-modified anaerobic bacteria is effective gene vector and has tumor targeting and antitumor capabilities, and can be used as strong and potential anti-tumor agent. Combination of anaerobic bacteria and conventional anti-tumor therapies has been a new strategy.
3.Inhibitory Effect of Growth-inhibitor on Isochrysis galbana and Inhibition of Antioxidants on Growth-inhibitor Damage to Its Cells
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;0(11):-
The inhibitory effects of growth-inhibitor on the growth of Isochrysis galbana, malondialdehyde (MDA) content and activities of antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase and peroxidase) were studied. And the inhibition effects of 4 species of antioxidants on this damage to its cells were also investigated. The results showed that 0.10 mg/L of GI marked decreased cell densities, activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POD), and MDA content increased. With increase of GI concentrations, cell densities and activities of SOD and POD decreased sharply, and MDA content increased obviously. When concentration of GI was 0.30 mg/L, the cell densities, activities of SOD and POD decreased to 0.05, 0.56 and 0.59 folds of the control, respectively, and MDA content increased to as higher as 2.2 folds of that of the control set. L-Ascorbic acid, citrazinic acid, lenediamiaetetraacetic acid disodium salt (Na2EDTA) and 3-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyanisole could decrease MDA content obviously, and marked increased cell densities and activities of SOD and POD. When 4 species of antioxidants were added to the medium, the cell densities, and activities of SOD and POD increased to as high as 1.38~1.90, 1.49~2.12 and 1.55~2.13 folds of that of the control set, respectively, and MDA content decreased by 57.7%~87.9%. It was indicated that the excess active oxygens were produced under growth-inhibitor stress and active oxygen participated in the damage of growth-inhibitor to Isochrysis galbana; the L-ascorbic acid, citrazinic acid, lenediamiaetetraacetic acid disodium salt and 3-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyanisole could effectively inhibit membrane lipid peroxidation and further alleviated algal damage.
4.cAMP signaling pathway and multiple myeloma
Journal of International Oncology 2014;41(5):368-370
The clonal proliferations of multiple myeloma cells consist of several signaling pathways. It has been shown that cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) signaling pathway,an important intra-cellular messenger delivery system,is related to abnormal proliferation and apoptosis of malignant lymphoid cells including myeloma cells.Manipulating the cAMP signaling pathway could induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis of various malignant lymphoid cells including myeloma cells, which involve mitochondrial-dependent apoptosis and cAMP-modulated changes of intra-cellular mediators.In-depth researches and analysis of cAMP-induced apoptosis in myeloma cells would provide potential targets and possible therapeutic means in the treatment of multiple myeloma.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of individualization of transrectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsy strategies for prostate cancer detection. Methods Ninety-seven patients who were considered having prostate cancer underwent individualization prostate biopsy strategies as individualization group.Fifty-two patients who were considered having prostate cancer underwent systemic 6-core prostate biopsy as control group. The detection rate of prostate cancer and rate of complications were compared between two groups. Results The detection rate of prostate cancer in individualization group was 43.3 %(42/97),there was no significant difference in age and prostate volume between the prostate cancer patients and the non-prostate cancer patients(P>0.05),but the prostate specific antigen(PSA)level of the prostate cancer patients was significantly higher than that of the non-prostate cancer patients[(26.4±2.9)μ g/L vs.(11.2±3.1)μ g/L,P=0.0000].The detection rate of prostate cancer in control group was 23.1%(12/52),the detection rate of prostate cancer in individualization group was significantly higher than that in control group(P=0.014).There was no significant difference in the rate of complications between two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions The first detection rate of prostate cancer in individualization of transrectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsy strategies is higher than that by systemic 6-core prostate biopsy, and the rate of complications is not increased. The individualization of transrectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsy strategies for prostate cancer is good, safety, deserve clinical expansion.

This study is to investigate the effect of small interfering RNA targeting STAT3 (STAT3-siRNA) enhancing antitumor activity of doxorubicin. RT-PCR and Western blotting were used to test the expression of STAT3 mRNA and protein in the HepG2, HeLa and K562/DOX cells and the effect of STAT3-siRNA on the expression of STAT3 mRNA and protein. MTT and Trypan blue assay were performed to determine the inhibitory effect of STAT3-siRNA on HepG2, HeLa and K562/DOX cells and the effect of STAT3-siRNA enhancing antitumor activity of doxorubicin. The effects of STAT3-siRNA on intracellular accumulation of doxorubicin and cell apoptosis were performed by Arrary Scan V(TI)HCS600 High-Contents. The results showed that STAT3 gene, STAT3 and pSTAT3 protein were highly expressed in HepG2, HeLa and K562/DOX cells and STAT3-siRNA decreased the expression of STAT3 mRNA and protein. STAT3-siRNA inhibited the growth of HepG2, HeLa and K562/DOX cells. STAT3-siRNA in combination with doxorubicin decreased by 3.13, 5.22 and 1.74 fold of IC50 of HepG2, HeLa and K562/DOX cells compared with doxorubicin only. Intracellular accumulation of doxorubicin increased by 16.8%, 12.87% and 25.67% respectively in HepG2, HeLa and K562/DOX cells in the presence of STAT3-siRNA. An enhancement of doxorubicin-induced cell apoptosis was observed in HepG2, HeLa and K562/DOX cells treated with STAT3-siRNA. The results suggested that STAT3-siRNA could enhance the antitumor activity of doxorubicin on HepG2, HeLa and K562/DOX cells.
