Objective To investigate the change and role of nitric oxide (NO), nitric oxide synthase (NOS) in serum of children with Epilepsy. Methods The serum NO and NOS levels of 58 epileptic children and 23 healthy children were measured with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results The concentrations of the serum NO [( 5.86? 1.21)?mol/ml] and NOS [( 28.26? 8.49)U/ml] in patient group were significantly higher than those in control group [( 3.78? 0.74)?mol/ml,( 17.86? 4.58)U/ml)]( P

Objective To explore the association between HbA1c and acute myocardial infarction(AMI) in youth. Methods Seventy-two AMI patients (≤44y) diagnosed during the period from January in 2009 to August in 2012 were enrolled and 79 young age-matched adults without coronary artery disease at the same period were enrolled to be control group. The relationship between HbA1c, fasting blood-glucose(FBG) and AMI was explored. Results (1)Compared with the control group, the plasma FBG and HbA1C value were significantly higher(P<0.05) in AMI group. (2)Logistic regression analysis showed that HbA1c is the independent risk factor for AMI in youth. (3)In AMI group, the HbA1c level in single vessel disease had remarkable difference with that in double vessel disease and triple vessel disease(P<0.05). Conclusions Increasing HbA1c level is the independent risk factor for AMI in youth, and positively correlated with the degree of coronary artery lesions. Primary intervention of glycometabolism abnormality possibly becomes the new opinion for prevention and cure of AMI.

Objective The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of nursing intervention on xerostomia in patient with AIDS. Methods From October 2010 to April 2012, nursing interventions were administered in 53 AIDS patients with xerostomia during treatment. The self-designed evaluation form was used to evaluate the oral dryness of patients before and after nursing intervention. Results There were significant changes on oral dryness of patients before and after nursing invention ( < 0.01) . There was a progressive decrease in the occurrence degree of oral dryness from level 0 to level 4. The number of patients decreased by 11.4%in level 4, but increased by 9.4% in level 0. There was a positive correlation between the intervention time and treatment effect. Establishment of an effective oral care hygiene behavior intervention could help patients create a healthy lifestyle. Conclusion Nursing intervention is important to relieving xerostomia of AIDS patients.

Objective To evaluated the improving effect of training method of point-line-plane on development quotient in premature infants with brain injury. Methods 174 cases of premature children with brain injury were randomly divided into study group (89 cases) and control group (85 cases).Control group given Bobath and Vojta traditional rehabilitation training, and the study group was given training method of point-line-plane.Patients in both groups were evaluated synthetically based on The Evaluation Chart on Neu-robehavioral Development of Children Aged 0-6 Years, developed by Capital Institute of Pediatrics, prior to the treatment, and after the first, the second, and the third course of the training programs,respectively.Re-sults The score of developmental quotient ( DQ) between study group and control group was no significantly different(P>0.05).Compared with before treatment, the scores of DQ was significantly increased after the first, the second and the third course of training treatment in study group and control group((82.71±12.28) vs (81.17±9.63), t=0.859, P>0.05;(89.65±10.02) vs (87.02±7.39), t=1.747, P>0.05). Compared with the control group, the scores of DQ in study group was no significant difference after the first and the second course of treatment, but there was significantiy different after the third course treatment((95.26±8.87) vs (91.31±7.63), t=2.945, P=0.004).Conclusion The training method of point-line-plane can improve the clinical efficacy of premature infants with brain injury at the early phase, which is worth widely applying in clinical practice.

Objective To investigate the correlation between serum proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin 9 (PCSK9) level and the severity of angiographic coronary artery disease (CAD) in elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) complicated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods The patients over the same period were divided into three groups:the elderly patients with AMI and T2DM (observation group, n=46), the elderly non diabetic patients with AMI (positive control group, n=34) and patients with chronic stable coronary heart disease (negative control group, n=33). The serum PCSK9 level was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent (ELISA) in three groups. The correlation between serum PCSK9 level and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), high sensitive C reactive protein (Hs-CRP) and Gensini score were analyzed. Results The levels of PCSK9, HbA1c, Hs-CRP and Gensini score showed a gradually increased tendency in negative control group, positive control group and observation group. Multiple comparison differences between groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). The serum PCSK9 level was positively correlated with Hs-CRP and Gensini score in observation group (P<0.05), and showed no correlation with HbA1c, TG, TC, LDL-C and HDL-C (P>0.05). Conclusion The serum level of PCSK9 is positive correlated with the severity of CAD, which can be used to determine the severity of coronary artery lesions in elderly patients with AMI complicated with T2DM.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2002;19(4):576-578
Hydroxyapatite (HAP) formation on the surface of the degradable polyamides implant by a coating technology was studied. A suspension of HAP-glutin-acetic acid was prepared and brushed on the surface of the implant at room temperature. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) were employed to study the composition and the microstructure of the coating. The results obtained indicate that the main composition of coating is crystal HAP, its structural formula is Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2. So the coating has bioactivity. The coating has also small pores, which can stimulate bone regrowth and adsorption of other bioactive materials or mediine. This technology is an effective method to improve medical performance of the polyamides implant.

Elastography can study the soft tissues by quantitative imaging of strain and elastic modulus distributions in soft tissues. For lymphedema, the strain profile of the soft tissues can be observed with the elastography to classify the lymphedema and evaluate the effect of rehabilitation.
