Objective To investigate the effect of the asymmetric of masticatory force on the remodeling of bilateral mandibular condylar cartilage of SD rats. Methods The animal models were established respectively by excising the unilateral temporalis, and injecting botulinum toxin A into the unilateral masseter. Dividing three batch processing 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and 9 weeks after the animal modeling, six rats were killed in each group. The expression of CTGF in condylar cartilage was observed by immunohistochemical staining. Results CTGF expressed in proliferative layer, chondroblast layer and hypertrophic layer of the condylar cartilage. The expression of CTGF in the experimental groups was increased than control groups (<0.05) . There was no significant difference between the left and right side in the experimental groups ( >0.05), the expression of CTGF after 6 weeks of operation was stronger than the group after 3 weeks of operation, the expression of CTGF after 9 weeks of operation was the strongest than all of other groups ( <0.05) . Conclusions The asymmetric of masticatory force can up-regulate the expression of CTGF mRNA in rat mandibular condylar chondrocytes. CTGF induces the effect of stress-mediated on the mandibular condylar cartilage remodeling.

Objective To investigate changes of endothelin-1(ET-1) and endothelin-converting enzyme (ECE) in different time intervals after autograft vein implantation. Methods A model of autogenous vein graft was established by interposition of the jugular vein into abdominal aorta in 80 Wistar rats. RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry were employed to test mRNA and protein level of ECE, ET-1 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA). Results Positive PCNA appeared at 6 hours after transplantation, with time reaching a peak at 1 to 2 week. ECE mRNA increased with time reaching a peak after 1-2 weeks and stabilizing around 8 weeks. ET-1 expression underwent similar tendence with ECE, reaching a peak after 1-2 weeks and stabilizing at 8 weeks at the protein level. Expression of ET-1 and ECE were closely related by the time pattern after vein autograft (r=0.975). Conclusions The process of intimal hyperplasia in its occurrence and pattern of change are related with dynamics of ET-1 and ECE. ECE may lead to intimal hyperplasia of the autografted vein through a passway of ECE to ET-1 to SMC.

Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition 2009;16(6):328-331
Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω-3 PUFA) on elder patients after gastric cancer radical operation. Methods: Forty patients were randomly divided into experimental group (EG) and control group(CG). The patients of CG were treated with hypocaloric and lower nitrogen parenteral nutrition, and those in EG received ω-3 PUFA additionally. The nutrition index, immune function, liver function, inflammatory reaction and complications were compared. Results: The rate of complications significantly decreased in the EG (20% vs 5% , χ~2 = 3. 958, P < 0. 05). There were no significant differences in albumn and hemoglobin between the two groups (P > 0. 05). The level of prealbumin was significantly increased in the EG. The humoral immunity and cellular immunity were higher in the EG than those in the CG. IL-6, TNF-α and CRP levels on postoperative d5 were significantly depressed in the EG. Conclusion: Postoperative supplementation of ω-3 PUFA may have a favorable effect on the outcomes in elder gastric cancer patients.

8.Clinicopathological factor analysis of positive cells in peritoneal lavage of gastric carcinoma.
Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery 2015;18(11):1128-1131
OBJECTIVETo explore the clinicopathological factors affecting positive cells in peritoneal lavage of gastric carcinoma.
METHODSClinicopathological data of 163 patients undergoing radical operation for gastric carcinoma and receiving cytology examination of peritoneal lavage (1000 ml normal saline) in our department from June 2013 to May 2014 were analyzed retrospectively. Pathology and immunohistochemistry were performed for resected lesions and harvested lymph nodes. Affecting factors of peritoneal lavage cytology were evaluated with univariate and multivariate logistic analyses.
RESULTSThe positive rate of exfoliative carcinoma cells was 9.2%(15/163). Univariate analysis showed that pathologic staging, depth of invasion, N staging, lymph node metastasis, station of positive lymph node, metastatic rate of lymph node, metastatic rate of the second station of lymph node, and carcinoma differentiation degree were associated with the positive rate of peritoneal lavage cytology (all P<0.05). Multivariate analysis revealed only the metastatic rate of the second station of lymph node was independent risk factor of positive exfoliative cells in peritoneal lavage.
CONCLUSIONThe metastatic rate of the second station of lymph node is an independent risk factor of positive exfoliative cells in peritoneal lavage for gastric cancer patients.

To investigate the N-glycosylation characteristics of recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) produced by an industrial Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell line that is currently used in a large scale manufacturing process, we cultured this cell strain in static mode. The produced rhEPO in the culture supernatant was analyzed using isoelectric focusing (IEF) and Ricinus communis agglutinin-I (RCA-I) lectin precipitation. The lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and sialidase activity in the serum-free supernatant were assayed as well. The analyses revealed that this cell strain could produce rhEPO with high sialic acid content, but during prolonged culture, cell viability decreased with time whilst the activity of sialidase present in the supernatant increased. The loss in rhEPO quality was due to a decrease in terminal sialic acid on the N-glycans, caused by sialidase degradation. The methods and findings in this paper serve as basis for further investigation of industrial production process.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2019;31(3):221-224
Objective :
To learn the epidemic distribution of avian influenza virus in external environments in Liaoning Province, and to provide evidence for the prevention and control of avian influenza.
Methods :
The environmental samples were collected monthly during 2016 and 2017(including samples from emergency monitoring in June to August,2016 and March to May,2017)from live poultry markets, live poultry wholesale markets,large-scale poultry farms(households),free-range poultry famers and poultry processing factories in Liaoning Province. Real-time polymerase chain reaction assay was used to detect nucleic acid of Influenza A as well as H5,H7 and H9 subtypes in the environmental samples. The distribution of avian influenza virus in external environments in Liaoning Province was analyzed.
Results :
A total of 4 037 environmental samples were collected and detected from 2016 to 2017,there were 177 copies of type A avian influenza virus and the positive rate of avian influenza A virus was 4.38%. The positive rate in 2017 was 6.26%, which was higher than 2.40% in 2016(P<0.05). H9 subtype had the highest positive rate of 3.07%;H7 subtype was first detected in 2017. The positive rates of avian influenza virus from the first to fourth quarters of a year were 8.54%,4.88%,2.17% and 1.45%,respectively. The positive rates of avian influenza virus in live poultry markets were 8.08%,the highest among different sites, and the subtypes were mainly H9. The positive rates of avian influenza virus in samples of poultry cage and poultry washing sewage were 23.47% and 15.96%. H5 and H9 subtypes were detected in all types of samples, and H7 subtypes or mixed types were detected in samples of feces, poultry cage, poultry drinking water and chopping board.
Conclusion
The subtypes of avian influenza virus in the environments of Liaoning Province were mostly H9 and H5,and the H7 was first detected in 2017. Live poultry markets should be the key monitoring sites, especially in winter and spring.
