Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(05):-
The peripheral blood T- lymphocyte percentage, lympocyte percentage in white blood cell (WBC) of mice in heat environment (45C, 15 min) were diminished, and serum corticosterone increased. Ginseng root saponins (GRS) 50, 100 mg/kg were administered ip at 15 min before the heat-stress, the suppression of peripheral blood T-lymphocyte percentage were prevented, but could not inhibit the increase ofserum corticosterone. GRS 50mg?kg-1ip could inhibit the redution of peripheral lymphocyte percentage. GRS 50mg?kg-1 ,reserpine 0.5mg? kg-1or physostigmine salicylate 0.3 mg?kg-1ip abolished the inhibiting effect of heat-stress on DTH reaction in mice.

OBJECTIVE To study the toxicity of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) on murine macrophage Ana-1 cells and the mechanism.METHODS Ana-1 cells were incubated with ZnO-NP (2.5-160 mg· L-1).Cell viability was investigated by MTT assay. The integrity of cell membrane was investigated by acridine orange-ethidium bromide (AO-EB) staining. The intracellular uptake of ZnO-NP and the percentage of sub-G1 of Ana-1 cells were detected by flow cytometry.Zinc ions were determined by fluorescent probe. The change of cell viability was studied after chelating zinc ions with ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA).RESULTS ZnO-NP 2.5,5,10 and 20 mg· L-1 decreased cell viability of Ana-1 cells (r=0.905,P<0.05) in a concentration-dependent manner. The cell viability was decreased to 27.9% after exposure to ZnO-NP 20 mg· L-1.Intracellular uptake of ZnO-NP was increased after Ana-1 cell incubated with ZnO-NP at concentrations ranging from 40 to 160 mg· L-1 (P<0.05).There were obvious free zinc ions in the cells.EDTA 2.5 mmol· L-1 significantly increased the cell viability decreased by ZnO-NP 20 mg· L-1 (P<0.05).Chelating free zinc ions significantly mitigated ZnO-NP induced cell toxicity (P<0.05).CONCLUSION Cytotoxicity and apoptosis of Ana-1 cells induced by ZnO-NP might be related to intracellular uptake of ZnO-NP and release of zinc ions.

Objective:To investigate the effect of prognostic nutrition index (PNI) and clinical characteristics on the prognosis of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).Methods:The clinical data of 236 patients with DLBCL treated in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from November 2014 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. X-Tile software and restricted cubic spline (RCS) were used to determine the best cut-off values of PNI, age and hemoglobin; Cox proportional hazard regression model was used for univariate and multivariate analyses; Kaplan-Meier method was used to analyze the overall survival (OS) of patients, and log-rank test was also performed.Results:One-hundred and fifteen of the 236 patients (48.7%) died, with a median OS time of 32 months. The 3-year OS rate was 46%, and the 5-year OS rate was 36%. The best cut-off value of PNI was 49. There was a significant non-linear relationship between PNI and the risk of poor prognosis of DLBCL ( χ2=34.64, P < 0.01); the analysis of the dose-response relationship showed that with the change of PNI, the correlation strength of the risk of poor prognosis declined non-linearly. The best cut-off value of age was 63 years old, and the correlation strength between age and the risk of poor prognosis of DLBCL showed a non-linear upward trend ( χ2=14.86, P=0.022). The best cut-off values of hemoglobin calculated by X-Tile software were 93 g/L and 129 g/L. Multivariate analysis showed that PNI, central nervous system involvement, liver involvement, age, hemoglobin, international prognostic index (IPI) score, and bulky disease were independent influencing factors of OS in DLBCL patients (all P < 0.05). In patients with germinal center B-cell-like (GCB) subtype, bcl-2-positive and bcl-6-positive, there were statistical differences in the 3-year OS rate of patients with PNI < 49 and PNI ≥ 49 (all P < 0.05). Conclusion:PNI has a certain value in the prognosis assessment of DLBCL patients, and PNI ≥ 49 indicates that the patient has a good prognosis.

Diabetes mellitus is a complex metabolic disease involving multiple organ systems in the body.In recent years, its global incidence rate has increased year by year.In China, the blood glucose control of patients with diabetes mellitus who receive oral hypogly-cemic agents or insulin treatment remains poor.In the early disease stages, exercise is important to control blood glucose levels.Recently, many studies have found that the occurrence of type 2 diabetes mellitus was related to declining levels of irisin,an exercise-related muscle factor.Furthermore, studies have found that irisin improved insulin resistance, promoted the production of pancreatic isletβcells, and affected the body's glucose and lipid metabolism. In addition, its levels were also implicated in the occurrence of various complications, such as diabetic nephropathy and diabetes-related cardiovascular diseases. This article summarizes and analyzes the role of irisin in the occurrence and development of diabetes mellitus and further describes its impact and mechanism on various diabetic complications.
