Clinical Medicine of China 2011;27(9):993-995
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and side-effects of the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine device (Mirena) in the treatment of dysfunctional uterine bleeding .Methods 45 cases of dysfunctional uterine bleeding diagnosed by pathology were installed with Mirena. The endometrial thickness by ultrasound hemoglobulin increase and pathologic changes of endometria were recorded before and 24 months after the installation.ResultsThe endometrial thickness before and after the insertion of Mirena were(15.6 ±4.2) mm and (3.2 ± 1.3)mmrespectively (P < 0.01) .Six months after the insertion of Mirena, patients' hemoglobulin was significantly increased from (97.6 ± 8.2)g/L to (123.7 ± 8.1)g/L (U = 2.26, P < 0.05) .After the installation of Mirena, patient experienced metrorrhagia. Conclusions Mirena is a device providing effective and continual therapy for dysfunctional uterine bleeding .It can not only significantly reduce the menstrual blood loss but also reverse the complex hyperplasia effectively.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 1984;0(02):-
The injurious changes of the microvasculature in the maxillofacial region due to high-velocity bullet injury were observed in different time intervals with scanning and transmission electron microscopy. It was found that there were microthrombus formation in the vascular lumen, and endothelial loss and dege-neration or necrosis of the vascular wall in the microvasulature around the wound. Our findings indicate that when early reconstructive surgery for the tissue defect due to gunshot wound especially for those in the maxillofacial region is to be performed with microsurgical technique, it is essential for the surgeon to realize and consider the wounding condition on the microvasculature of the recipient site.

Objective To investigate the level of homocysteinemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus with neuropathy, and observe the effect of medical intervention of hyperhomocysteinemia on diabetic neuropathy. Methods 200 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus plus neuropathy and 200 control were collected.Patients with diabetic neuropathy plus hyperhomocysteinemia were divided into two groups:medical intervention group(15mg/d folic acid,20mg/d vitamin B6)and control group. The level of homocysteinemia in plasma was measured, and neuropathy score was evaluated by clinical and electrobiological methods before and three months after treatment. Results The morbidity of hyper-homocysteinemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus with neuropathy was 40%,and the levels of homocysteinemia was higher in treatment group than in control(P<0.05).Compared with the control, the levels of homocysteinemia in group of medical intervention was lower(P<0.01),and neuropathy score and nerve conductive velocity showed an obviously improvement after 3-month-treatment(P<0.05).Conclusions Hyperhomocysteinemia is an independent risk factor for diabetic neuropathy in humans.Efficiently intervening the levels of homocysteinemia could improve the electrobiological activity and neuropathy score.

Objective To investigate the effects of ultrasound and microbubbles on transient transfection of angiopoietin-1(Ang-1) into vascular endothelial CRL1730 cells and the effects of cell migration. Methods CRL1730 cells were divided into four groups:a control group (without any treatment), an Ang-1 group (with Ang-1 added only), a microbubble group (with only microbubbles added) and an ultrasound with microbubbles group (Ang-1, microbubbles and 1 MHz ultrasound irradiation for 30 s). All were cultivated for 24 h. The expression of Ang-1 mRNA and protein were measured using RT-PCR and Western blotting. The cells' migration ability was detected using the Transwell method. Results There was no difference in the expression of Ang-1 mRNA or protein among the control group, the Ang-1 group and the microbubbles group, but the expression of Ang-1 mRNA and protein was increased significantly in the ultrasound plus microbubbles group. Cell migration ability was also enhanced significantly in the ultrasound and microbubbles group compared with the other groups. Conclusion A combination of ultrasound and microbubbles might successfully transfect Ang-1 genes into vascular endothelial cells, and the migration ability of the transfected cells is also enhanced.

Objective To test the efficiency of gene transfer and expression mediated by ultrasound and microbubble strategy in 293T cell. Methods SonoVue microbubbles were mixed with pla.smid DNA encoding hAng-1 and green fluorescent protein. The mixture of the DNA and microbubbles was administer to cultured 293T cells by ultrasound exposue. The ultrasound condition was 1. 5 W/cm~2 and 30 s. Forty eight hours later, transfer rate was assessed by fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. Cell viability was assayed by Trypan Blue staining. RT-PCR and Western blot analysis was used to examine the expression of hAng-1 mRNA and protein. Agarose gel electrophoresis was used to evaluate the integrity of the plasmid. Results The transfection expression rate of eGFP in 293T cells was markedly increased with the additon of 20% microbubbles and 15 mg/L DNA. Fetal calf serum had no influence on the gene transfer rate. Ultrasound irradiation combined with microbubbles couldn't destroy the integrity of plasmid. Conclusions Ultrasound-mediated microbubbles destruction can increase the transfection and expression of hAng-1 gene in 293T.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(09):-
Ligusticum chuanxiong is a Common Chinese medicinal herb which is widely used in clinical treatment. Modern research has shown that the ingredients of Ligusticum chuanxiong such as tetramethylpyrazine and ferulic acid have multiple effects of scavenging oxygen free radicals,calcium-antagonism,vasodilating,inhibiting platelet aggregation and thrombosis and so on. This article reviews the research progress in pharmacological activities of the available compositions in ligusticum chuanxiong in the past several years.

Journal of Integrative Medicine 2006;4(2):175-80
OBJECTIVE: To study the effects of Yiqi Huayu Recipe on neural cell adhesion molecule (N-CAM) in neuromuscular junctions during nerve regeneration in rats with lumbar nerve root compression. METHODS: The rats with lumbar nerve root compression were given Yiqi Huayu Recipe for 10, 20 and 30 days respectively. The distribution of N-CAM in neuromuscular junctions of soleus muscle in rats was examined with immunohistochemical method and confocal laser scanning microscopy technique. The acetylcholine receptor (AChR) was visualized with fluorescein-conjugated alpha-bungarotoxin (alpha-BTX). The overlap areas of N-CAM and AChR sites were measured with NIH image technique. RESULTS: The aggregates, sprouts and extensions of N-CAM in the neuromuscular junctions and the overlap areas of N-CAM and AChR sites in the Yiqi Huayu Recipe-treated group were all better improved than those in the untreated group. CONCLUSION: The expression of N-CAM is regulated according to the state of innervation for muscles. Yiqi Huayu Recipe may accelerate this nerve regeneration process.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinical symptoms, which were main evidences in syndrome differentiation and treatment, were also main data in the clinical individual diagnosis and treatment. However, the absence of high-quality symptom ontology was still obvious in TCM clinical and data using. By analyzing the research and data of clinical phenotype ontologies associated with symptoms, this paper was aimed to introduce and sort the existing ontologies, in order to discuss related problems. Furthermore, we provided ideas and expound the importance of building data network of symptoms, diseases, genes, drugs, chemicals, side effects with the data we collected and disposed around symptoms, in order to construct TCM clinical phenotype ontology. We believed that our work will help the development of individual treatment and precision medicine in TCM. It was also the key of individual big data analysis which was urgent need to promote.
