Objective To study the efficacy of azithromycin in the treatment of acute bronchitis. Methods The 300 patients with acute bronchitis treated by our hospital from August 2016 to February 2017 were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group, each with 150 patients. The control group was treated with penicillin and azithromycin was treated by the experimental group. Comparative analysis was made on the clinical indicators of the experimental group and the control group. Results After the corresponding treatment, the improvement time of cough sputum in the experimental group was (4.19 ± 0.54), and the improvement time was (4.32 ± 0.65). The improvement time of cough sputum in the control group was (6.29 ± 0.87), and the improvement of pharyngeal pain was (5.32 ± 0.76) days. However, the improvement time of cough expectorus and pharyngeal pain in the experimental group was significantly shorter than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). Of the patients in the experimental group, 6 patients were not effective, 14 patients improved, 70 patients showed positive results and 60 patients recovered. In the control group, the total number of cases was 110, 15 were invalid, 25 were improved, 60 were developed and 50 were cured. However, the efficiency of the experimental group was 86.67 %, significantly higher than that in the control group (73.33 %), the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). The clinical recovery time of the patients in the experimental group was (5.65±1.19), which was significantly shorter than that of the control group (6.89±1.46), the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). Conclusion The clinical efficacy of azithromycin in the treatment of acute bronchitis is better, which can significantly improve the treatment efficiency, relieve the patient’s related symptoms, and have the significance of clinical promotion.

Background Eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA)function as the critical lipid mediators involved in several biological events in human body and play important role in suppressing the genesis of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF),migration and proliferation of vascular endothelial cells.Many ocular diseases were proved to be associated with neovascularization.Objecfive The purpose of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effect of EPA on the proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) indueed by VEGF. Methods HUVEC strain was cultured and passaged,and difierent concentrations of EPA were added to the medium with and without VEGF.The cultured cells were identified by antiofactor Ⅷ polyclonal antibody.The suppressing role of different concentrations of EPA on the proliferation of VEGF-induced or-uninduced HUVEC was assessed by MTT method.The influence of difierent concentrations of EPA on the cellular cycle of VEGF-induced HUVEC was assayed using flow eytometry.The expression of Flk-1,a receptor of VEGF,in the HUVEC Was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results Cultured HUVEC showed the ftlsiform in shape and presented with the cobblestone-like arrangement with the positive response for Ⅷ factor-related antigen.Various concentrations of EPA showed obviously inhibitory effect on VEGF-induced or-unindueed HUVEC at a dose-dependent manner (F=23.072.P=0.000).The inhibitory ability of EPA on VEGF-induced HUVEC was stronger than VEGF-uninduced HUVEC(F=41.417,P=0.000).In 24,48 and 72 hours,the action of EPA on the proliferation of HUVEC was gradually enhanced with the prolong of time(F=1.495,P=0.236).Cell cycle analysis indicated that EPA arrested VEGF-induced HUVEC in G0/G1 phase.The ratio of HUVEC in G0/G1 phase in EPA group was(75.83±1.56)%,and that in control groups was(68.62±1.44)%,showing a significant difference between them(t=-5.88,P=0.00),and no apoptosis of HUVEC was found in both groups.Flk-1 was strongly expressed in the cellular nucleus and cytoplasm in control group.However,the positive expressing intensity of Flk-1 in the HUVEC weakened,and the positive cell number was evidently less in EPA group. Conclusion EPA can inhibit the proliferation of VEGF induced HUVEC through arresting the synthesis of DNA of HUVEC and downregulate the expression of Flk-1 in HUVEC.These results suggest that EPA might exert an antiangiogenic effect.

OBJECTIVETo study the infrared (IR) fingerprint spectra of Coptis chinensis for different parts, ages, and heights, and to analyze the integrate rules about the content of berberine component in Coptis chinensis for different parts, ages, and heights.

METHODThe Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy was applied to detect the infrared spectra of Coptis chinensis samples rapidly and non-separately.

RESULTSThe IR spectra of the root, leafstalk, and fibre of Coptis chinesis have their unique features. The content of berberine component in Coptis chinensis was different for different parts and the sequence: root > leafstalk > fibre. When Coptis chinensis grows, the content of berberine component in leafstalk also increases. The content of berberine component in leafstalk which planting in 1 200 m was less than that in 1 300, 1 400, and 1 500 m. The ages and heights provide no obvious influences on the content of berberine in the root of Coptis chinensis.

CONCLUSIONUsing FTIR spectroscopy, the quality of Coptis chinensis can be controlled, which provides a useful method for the standardized planting of Coptis chinensis.

Objective To investigate the association between obesity and prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS) with its associated risk factors,in children and adolescents.Methods A stratified random sampling method was used to select 7893 students from 6 to 18 years of age from 14 out of 396 primary and secondary schools in Nanning city.All the students had undergone physical examination and blood tests including the following risk factors related to metabolic syndrome:fasting blood glucose (FBG),total cholesterol (TC),triglycerides (TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C),alanine amino shift enzyme (ALT),aspartic acid amine shift enzyme (AST) and fasting insulin (FINS).The homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) was also measured.Results (1) The prevalence rate of MS in normal group was 0.57％.In both the overweight and obesity groups,the prevalence rates of MS were 4.53％ and 26.80％,respectively.(2) These indices in obesity group were higher than other two groups (P＜0.05).The result of overweight group was higher than normal group (P＜0.05).(3) Waist circumference(OR=1.087,95％CI:1.033-1.143 ),SBP ( OR=1.073,95％CI:1.032-1.116),FBG (OR=1.394,95％CI:1.568-3.423),TG (OR=3.213,95％CI:1.410-7.319) and HDL-C (OR=0.001,95％CI:0.000-0.012)were detecting indices which had statistically significant with MS in binary logistic regression analysis.Conclusion Metabolic syndrome and obesity were closely related in children and adolescents while its prevalence and risk factors increased with the severity of obesity.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in pregnant women and intrauterine infection in local region. Methods The markers of hepatitis B (HBVM) were determined by time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay and HBV-DNA were determined by FQ-PCR. Results A total of 1262 pregnant women were examined the HBVM, 2.6%, 38.2%, 0.9%, 22.6%, 23.1% subjects were identified HBsAg, HBsAb, HBeAg, HBeAb, HBeAb positive respectively. In 33 eases of serum HBsAg-positive pregnant women, HBV-DNA were observed in most of 11 cases of pregnant women with HBeAg-positive and intrauterine infection rates were 6/11. In contrast, 22 cases of pregnant women with HBeAg negative, HBV-DNA were detected lowly-loaded and intrauterine infection rates were 2/22 (P < 0.01). Intrauterine infection rates of HBV in pregnant women with HBsAg-positive were 24.2% (8/33).Conclusion HBV infective rates in pregnant women in the local region were low. Pregnant women with serum HBeAg positive and HBV-DNA high-loaded were prone to intrauterine infection.

OBJECTIVETo study the changes and significance of plasma cardiotrophin-1 (CT-1) in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) complicated by myocardial ischemic injury.

METHODSForty-five neonates with HIE (15 mild cases, 24 moderate cases and 6 severe cases) were enrolled and divided into two subgroups based on the presence of myocardial injury (n=19) and not (n=26). Twenty healthy neonates were used as the control group. Plasma CT-1 levels were measured using double-antibody sandwich enzyme immunoassay method. Serum creatinine kinase MB (CK-MB) and cardiac troponin I (CTnI ) levels were also measured.

RESULTSPlasma CT-1 levels in the mild HIE (169±20 pg/mL) and moderate/severe HIE subgroups (287±44 pg/mL) were significantly higher than those in the control group (30±8 pg/mL), and plasma CT-1 levels were associated with the severity of HIE (P<0.01). Plasma CT-1 levels were positively correlated with serum CK-MB and CTnI levels in neonates with HIE in the acute phase (r=0.565 and 0.621 respectively; P<0.01). Plasma CT-1 levels in neonates with myocardial injury were significantly higher than those without myocardial injury (249 ±35 pg/mL vs 177±26 pg/mL; P<0.01). Plasma CT-1 levels were significantly reduced in neonates with myocardial injury in the convalescent phase (157±19 pg/mL) compared with those in the acute phase (249±35 pg/mL; P<0.01).

CONCLUSIONSDetection of plasma CT-1 levels may be useful in the diagnosis of myocardial ischemic injury and the severity evaluation of HIE.

Objective To investigate the prevalence, common clinical symptoms and complications, transmission routes and media of brucellosis among human in the city of Songyuan in Jilin province, and to provide practical basis for brucellosis intervention and related control measures. Methods Use self-designed questionnaire to collect information from outpatients in brucellosis clinic in Songyuan Center for Disease Control and Prevention from January to June 2009, and to analyze the related data from the survey: prevalence, time and geographical distribution, clinical symptom, transmission route and media. Results Of the total 620 cases investigated, there were 284 patients accounting for 45.8% (284/620), 75 suspected patients accounting for 12.1% (75/620), 13stealth patients accounting for 2.1% (13/620) and 248 negative people accounting for 40.0% (248/640). Main common symptoms of the patients were fever[66.5%( 189/284)], muscle and joint pain[38.7%( 110/284)],fatigue[27.5%(78/284)], hyperhidrosis[25.0%(71/284)]and low back pain[17.3%(49/284)]. The patients group had a significantly higher prevalence of mucocutaneous infection, contacting infected animal abortion flow,fur, soil, faeces and dust than the uninfected group(χ2 value were 27.12, 22.75, 8.90, 6.65, 6.39, 6.39, all P< 0.01 or < 0.05). Conclusions The positive rate of brucellosis in the brucellosis clinic of Songyuan city is high,and patients have typical symptoms. We should take comprehensive control measures to protect the high-risk group and reduce the local infectivety.

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of methionine and choline on the expression levels of CaMKII and CREB mRNA and proteins in hippocampus of rats exposed to lead.

METHODSMale SD rats were divided into five groups. (1) control group, (2) group exposed to lead+2 by drinking water with 0.40 g/L lead acetate, (3) group exposed to methionine and choline (1:1, 400 mg/kg), (4) group exposed to 0.40 g/L lead acetate plus methionine and choline (1:1, 100 mg/kg), (5) group exposed to 0.40 g/L lead acetate plus methionine and choline (1:1, 400 mg/kg). In 8 weeks after exposure, all rats were killed. Then CREB mRNA and CaMK II mRNA expression levels in hippocampus were detected by real-time PCR, CREB and CaMK II protein expression levels in hippocampus were measured by western blot assay.

RESULTSThe expression levels (0.743 ± 0.185 and 0.729 ± 0.199) of CaMKII mRNA and CREB mRNA in the hippocampus of lead group were significantly lower than those (0.950 ± 0.238 and 0.901 ± 0.232) of control group (P < 0.05), also the expression levels (0.271 ± 0.045 and 0.212 ± 0.058) of CREB protein and pCREB protein in the hippocampus of lead group were significantly lower than those (0.319 ± 0.058 and 0.506 ± 0.125) of control group (P < 0.05). The expression levels (1.014 ± 0.210 and 1.126 ± 0.379) of CaMKII mRNA and the expression levels (1.029 ± 0.335 and 0.932 ± 0.251) of CREB mRNA in the hippocampus of 2 groups exposed to lead acetate plus methionine and choline were significantly higher than those of lead group (P < 0.05). The expression levels (0.407 ± 0.951 and 0.563 ± 0.178) of CREB protein and pCREB protein in the hippocampus of group exposed to lead acetate plus 400 mg/kg methionine and choline were significantly higher than those of lead group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONMethionine and choline could decrease the inhibition effects of lead on the expression of CaMKII and CREB mRNA or CREB and pCREB proteins in the hippocampus of rats.

Objective To observe the effect of the self-made chitosan thermosensitive hydrogel system with dual-release bone morphogenetic protein and chlorhexidine on periodontal defects repair.Methods The furcation defect model was established on dog premolar.The models were divided into five groups,including three experimental groups,one control group and one blank control group.The hydrogel with the chlorhexidine/β-cyclodextrin inclusion complexes(IC)/rhBMP-2,hydrogel with rhBMP-2,hydrogel with IC,the pure hydrogel were applied to the defects of the four groups,respectively,and the blank control group did not receive any agent.The dogs were sacrificed 8 weeks later and the periodontal regeneration and gingival condition were observed by histological examination.Results Obvious periodontal tissue regeneration was found in group one and two.The heights of new bone reached 99.2% of the defects in group one,87.8%,63.6%,37.0% and 34.3% in group two,three,four and blank control groups,respectively.The inflammation of the affected gingiva showed less significant in group one and group three than in the other groups.Condusions rhBMP-2 and chlorhexidine played their independent role in repairing periodontal defects and the dual-release chitosan thermosensitive hydrogel system is effective and convenient to use.
