Partial deletion of the long arm of chromosome 7 is a rare disease and is prone to missing the diagnosis or being misdiagnosed. Here we present a case of a 13-year-old boy that showed symptoms such as growth-retardation,moderate intellectual disability, hypotelorism, microcephaly, epicanthal folds, genu varum and lumbar vertebral cleft, but it did not show serious symptoms like cleft lip, urogenital malformation and hypotonia. He was eventually diagnosed as partial deletion of the long arm of chromosome 7 syndrome through gene analysis.Considering the rare incidence of this disease and more rarely for being hospitalized to endocrine ward due to growth retardation, this case report can provide more information for clinic diagnosis and differential diagnosis for growth retardation.

Objective To explore the influence of health education on patients with dysphgia and related complications. Methods Different methods of health education were used with 87 patients with different dysphagia conditions and their earegivers. The health education was oriented to dysphgia evaluation and appropriate functional training to improve deglutition. The severity of dysphgia and related complications were observed before and after the health education. Results Health education combined with functional training could reduce the possibility of pul-monary infection, misaspiration and malnutrition for post-stroke dysphagic patients, and the difference was statistical-ly significant. Conclusions Health educmion combined with functional training is effective in reducing the possi-bility of pulmonary infection and malnutrition and preventing misaspiration in stroke patients with dysphgia. It can help such patients regain the independent deglutition ability in the short term.

Objective To probe the value of clinical application of three dimensional contrast enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (3D CE MRA) for diagnosis of peripheral artery occlusive diseases (PAOD) and to assess its accuracy. Methods One hundred and three cases of PAOD received 3D CE MRA before operation. And 579 vascular segments were displayed. The diagnosis of 3D CE MRA before operation were compared with the results of vascular reconstruction surgeries of lower extremities. The image quality and how 3D CE MRA revealed the abnormal blood vessels were evaluated. Results Satisfactory images of the main arteries of the lower extremities were achieved by 3D CE MRA. In 579 vascular segments of 103 patients with PAOD,the sensitivity and specificity for detection of severe stenosis and occlusions were 97.6% and 95.4%,respectively. In 206 vascular segments of tibiofibula artery, the sensitivity was 100%. In 196 vascular segments of femoral artery, the specificity was 97%. Conclusion 3D CE MRA is accurate and reliable for determination of the degree of peripheral artery stenosis. The results of 3D CE MRA are concordant with that of operation.

HPLC is widely applied in the analysis of chemical drugs. In order to regulate the use and maintenance of HPLC col-umn and guarantee the analysis quality of HPLC, the classified management of HPLC column was explored in the paper from the follow-ing five aspects:file establishment, recipient and return management, column performance evaluation, information accumulation of ap-plication range, and maintenance and abandonment of HPLC column.

Objective To know the relationship between air quality and meteorological conditions in Sanming City,Fujian, China. Methods Based on the fixed point monitoring data of everyday air quality from Sanming Environmental Monitoring Center and the corresponding upper air synoptic chart from 2002 to 2006,the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics, the variation tendency of the ambient air quality and their relations with the meteorological conditions were analyzed by using Excel 2003 software. Results The air pollution in Sanming was serious, the PM10 was concluded as the predominant pollutant. The concentration of SO_2,NO_2 and PM10,which affected the air quality of Sanming, was higher during October—April, and it was lower during May—September. The concentration of the pollutants was higher in the urban areas eompared with the suburbs. Conclusion The air quality in Sanming is related to the variation of the synoptic system. The air quality under the warm shear line system is best and under low system is next-best;the air quality under the warm sector convergence system is worst and under continent high system is next-worst;the low-level wind direction has some effect on the variation of the air quality, the air quality in easterly wind is better than that in westerly wind.

Objective To delineate the potency of YC-1 on the proliferation, apoptosis, cell cycle and the protein expression of Caspase-3,-8,-9 in U937 and THP-1 leukemia cell lines. Methods MTT assay was performed to detect proliferation.Flow cytometry was used to measure the apoptosis and cell cycle. The expression of Caspase-3,-8 and-9 were detected by Western blot. Results The MTT assay showed that cell proliferation was inhibited in a concentration-dependent manner in 1.0,3.0,10.0 μmol/L YC-l-treated U937 and THP-1 cells. The survival rates for YC-1 after 24 h in U937 cells were (76.5±4.4) %,(68.7±6.8) %,(60.9±13.2) % respectively and (94.1±1.4) %,(81.4±2.0) %,(72.7±3.0) % respectively in THP-1 cell, compared with the control group (100 %),there were significant differences (F =15.870,126.629,P < 0.01).The apoptosis rates for 1.0,3.0,10.0 μmol/L YC-1 after 24 h were (40.7±1.0) %,(55.6±2.3) %,(71.8±1.5) %respectively in U937 cells and (34.6±2.0) %,(50.3±3.5) %,(59.6±4.6) % respectively in THP-1 cells. With the control group (4.7±1.4) %,(1.8±1.0) %,there were significant difference (F =937.229,200.447,P < 0.01).However,there was no significant difference for cell cycle. In addition,Cleaved Caspase-8 and Cleaved Caspase-3 expression after 1.0,3.0,10.0 μmol/L YC-1 treated for 24 h were significantly higher than control, but the expression of Caspase-9 did not appear significant change in U937 cells. As the same concentration and time point,Cleaved Caspase-3 expression increased with no change of Caspase-9 or Caspase-8 in THP-1 cells. Conclusion YC-1 effectively suppress the proliferation with little effect on cell cycle, but induce the apoptosis, have no effect on cell cycle, and the mechanism of apoptosis may be related to the Caspase activation in U937 and THP-1 cell lines.

OBJECTIVE:
To analyze and discuss four methods of calculating likelihood ratio of DNA mixture.
METHODS:
In the case with CNAS-T0757 proficiency testing in 2013, the likelihood ratios were calculated and compared among four methods, including unrestricted combinatorial method, Clayton's method, p2 principle method, and recommendations from ISFG.
RESULTS:
The likelihood ratios were maximum by Clayton's method and recommendations from ISFO, followed by result of the unrestricted combinational method. The minimum likelihood ratio was obtained by p2 principle.
CONCLUSION
The unrestricted combinational method could give fUrthest consideration to both information preservation and appraiser protection.

3 mg/L was significantly worse than in those with hs-CRP≤3 mg/L (18.18%,5.45%;P=0.044,log-rank test). Higher hs-CRP concentration was an independent predictor of death or new vascular event(OR 3.609;95% CI 0.869—14.992;P=0.047).Conclusion Higher hs-CRP concentration in acute phase after ischemic stroke is an independent predictor of death or new vascular event in a year.
