1.Application value of acoustic radiation force impulse imaging in differential diagnosis of benign and malignant gallbladder wall thickening
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2015;(9):471-474
Objective:To explore the application value of acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) imaging technology in the dif-ferential diagnosis of benign gallbladder wall thickening or gallbladder carcinoma. Methods:Siemens ultrasound ARFI, involving virtu-al touch tissue imaging (VTI) and virtual touch tissue quantification (VTQ), was used to examine the gallbladder wall in 327 cases. To compare transverse shear wave velocity (VTQ) of gallbladder waland VTI image characteristics. Results:Significant differences exist-ed in the gallbladder wall elastic parameters of normal and benign gallbladder wall thickening, as well as thick-walled gallbladder carci-noma. The ROC curve displayed that a velocity of 2.65 m/s can be used to diagnose gallbladder carcinoma, with sensitivity and specific-ity of 94.0%and 93.7%, respectively. Conclusion:The VTQ parameters were significantly different in benign and malignant gallblad-der wall thickening, thereby exhibiting clinical application value.

Objective To study the relationship between chemokines monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1),reduced upon activation of normal T cell expressed and secreted chemokine(RANTES) and experimental allergic neuritis(EAN).Methods EAN models were induced in Wistar rats by immunization with rabbit sciatic nerves homogenate and complete Freund's adjuvant(CFA).Expressions of MCP-1,RANTES in the sciatic nerves of experimental rats were detected by immunohistochemistry technology at different time. Results The maximum MCP-1 positive cells in the sciatic nerves were detected at 9th d.The expression of MCP-1 in EAN group was obviously higher than that in control group at 9th,15th and 21th d(all(P

Objective To investigate the surgical treatment and prognosis of bronchial mucoepidermoid cancer. Methods During a 17-year-period, 19 consecutive patients underwent surgery for bronchial mucoepidermoid cancer, and the surgical treatment and prognosis were analyzed retrospectively. Results Among them, 13 cases were treated by lobectomy, 5 by pneumonectomy, and 1 by exploratory thoracotomy. Four cases were proved pathologically to be high malignancy and 15 low malignancy. All patients were followed up postoperatively for about 68.26 months on average. The 1, 3, and 5-year survival rates were 94.44%, 80.00%, and 70.00% respectively. In the low malignancy group, the 1, 3, 5-year survival rates were 100%; in the high malignancy group, the 1-year survival rate was 33.33%, and 3-year survival rate was 0. Conclusion Patients with low malignant grade of cancers can be cured after complete resection, and those with high malignant grade predispose to metastasis and hence result in a poor prognosis.

Standardized training of residents is a necessary way for clinical medical personnel train-ing. Residents graduating from medical colleges and universities should accept the standardized, scientific, strict pre-service training, in order to realize role conversion from medical students to hospital physicians. This paper summarizes and analyzes the pre-service training, focusing on the training object, course design, organization implementation, evaluation, questionnaire survey, and puts forward some thoughts and sugges-tions on strengthening and improving pre-service training form, expanding the content of training, and quan-tifying the evaluation of training effect.

The complications of spinal cord injury(SCI)affect not only the rehabilitation treatment, but also quality of the patients' living, even threaten to patients' life, including pressure sore, complications of urinary system and respiratory system, deep venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, spasm, pain, autonomic dysreflexia, osteoporosis, etc. The prevention and treatment of complications of SCI may be helpful to improve patients' health, and a premise of the rehabilitation.

Antibacterial therapy is a global health issue. The antibiotic resistance is becoming an increasingly serious threat, which caused by misuse and overuse of antibacterial agents combined with the emergence of new resistance mechanism. The resulting infection treatment risk and incidence of the spread of disease, severe cases and deaths are increased in different degrees. With the extensive application of biomaterials and nanotechnology to biomedicine, extensive research has been conducted on antibacterial infection. With the specific physicochemical properties like optical, electric and magnetic and high penetration, inorganic nanomaterials can produce natural antibacterial effect. Nanomedicine can be designed to allow controlled drug release and targeting effect, thus demonstrated better antibacterial efficiency. In this review, the mechanism of antibacterial resistance is described, and the antibacterial infection research on inorganic nanomaterials, as well as nano-drug delivery system including liposomes, nanoparticles, dendrimers and biomimetic nanocarriers are summarized. Nanomaterials and nanotechnology offer promising strategies for the development of new agents that can improve efficacy on antibacterial infections and overcome antibiotic resistance potentially.

Purpose To investigate the clinicopathologic features, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ovarian juvenile granulosa cell tumor (JGCT).Methods The history records, pathologic features and immunophenotype of 8 cases of JGCT were retrospectively evaluated and their prognosis was achieved by follow-up.Results The age of patients ranged from 6~21 years old, with an average age of 15.1 years. The main clinical manifestations included an abdominal mass, ascites and isosexual pseudoprecocity. Cut surface of the tumor was typically solid with cysts formed. The histopathological changes displayed solid nests, diffuse sheet, multiple round or ovoid follicles in variable size.Macrofollicles could be seen in some cases. The follicular pattern consisted of small cystic cavities containing eosinophilic secretions. The tumor cells were round or polygonal, medium in size. The tumor cells had abundant pale or slightly eosinophilic cytoplasm, round nuclei with fine chromatin. Nuclear grooves were inconspicuous.Mitosis figures could be found. Immunohistochemical results showed that the tumor cells expressed inhibin-α,CD99,vimentin; while Melan-A,calretinin and S-100 were positive staining in part of the cases.CKpan,EMA,PLAP,Syn and CgA were negative in all the cases. Conclusions Ovarian juvenile granulosa cell tumor is a rather rare, low malignant tumor with good prognosis. Its diagnosis depends on the histologic and immunohistochemical findings and clinical features. Its differential diagnosis includes adult granulose cell tumor, hypercalcaemic type small cell carcinoma, carcinoid and dysgerminoma.
