OBJECTIVE: To establish the HPLC fingerprint of Rhizoma Belamcandae. METHODS: The fingerprint of Rhizoma Belamcandae was established by HPLC on Lichrospher C18(250 mm?4.6mm,5um).The mobile phase consisted of 1% acetic acid acetonitrile -1% acetic acid solution at a flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1. The column temperature was 30 ℃.Cluster analysis was conducted with peak area as quantitative characteristic value. Canonical discriminant function and Fisher's discriminant function of the HPLC finger print of Rhizoma Belamcanda were established using stepwise classification scheme. RESULTS: The fingerprint of Rhizoma Belamcandae has been established. The discrimination and classification results by the two kinds of functions were totally consistent with each other, with corresponding rate of 100%. CONCLUSION: The two discriminant functions are of theoretical and practical value for they provide an accurate and rapid tool for the identification of the unknown samples as well as a new model for the quality control of Chinese medicines.

To carry out propaganda and education regarding nutrition in the elderly is to improve their knowledge about balanced diets, appropriate nutrition in relation to health, to rectify their original irrational diet hapbits, and to select scientifically their nutritious diets. 797 retired military cadres were enrolled for the study of the effects of education. The results showed that proper education significantly changed their irrational diet habits, sach as over nutrition and under nutrition, and improper constitution of fatty acid in the food, and obesity and over-weight were corrected after the propaganda and education regarding nutrition were carried out. This study suggested that it was very important to edacate elderly people in regard to proper diet habit to help them give up their bad habits on selecting foods, and to avoid obecity and constipation.

MMP-9 is one of the family of matrix metalloproteinases, which degrades extracellular matrix. MMP-9 is induced by many inflammatory factors, including IL-1?,IL-8 and TNF-?. Meanwhile, MMP-9 potentiates inflammatory factors by aminoterminal processing. The signal transduction by which inflammatory factors induce MMP-9 is also an important part in recent research. This review will give a summary in all these fields.

Objective To compare the antiviral efficacy and economics between lamivudine and entecavir in patients with low preoperative HBV replication after liver transplantation. Methods Liver transplantation patients from 2006 July to 2013 July were selected for being studied prospectively. Statistically evaluated between entecavir and lamivudine efficacy by the analysis of postoperative follow-up of seroconversion and HBV reinfection. Results The cumulative overcast rate of entecavir group was 98.04% one month after transplatation. And 3 of 51 cases were reinfected with average turn time of 9.73 days. Meanwhile , the cumulative overcast rate of Lamivudine group was 100% and 3 of 26 cases were reinfected with average turn time of 5.11 days. There are no statistical differences between the two groups accumulation rate , reinfection rates , as well as cumulative infection rates. Conclusion In the cases of low hepatitis B virus replication before liver transplantation, Entecavir and Lamivudine have the similar effect of preventing HBV reinfection after operation. Compared with the cost of Entecavir group, Lamivudine is more economy.

Objective: The experiment was undertaken to explore the blood-brain barrier permeability and the gene expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in ischemic cerebra and the impact of Buyanghuanwu Decoction on them. Methods: The (middle cerebral artery occlusion, MCAO) rat model was used. At 1h, 3h, 24h, 48h, 5d after reperfusion. They were measured. Results: In treatment group, the BBB permeability and the MMP-9 gene expression decreased. Conclusion: Buyanghuanwu Decoction can protect the BBB by inhibiting the MMP-9 gene expression.

OBJECTIVE:To optimize the formula of Yanle buccal tablets. METHODS: 8 different formula were derived from L8(2)7 orthogonal design table taking 7 Chinese medicines as factors. The main outcome measures were granuloma growth inhibition test, ear swelling inhibition test and phenol red's phlegm eliminating test in mice. RESULTS: The results showed that that Radix et Rhizoma Slycyrrhizae and Flos Lonicerae Japonicae had significant impact on mice's granuloma growth inh-ibition test Result;Radix Ophiopogonis,Rhizome,Belamcandae,Semen Oroxyli,and Flos Lonicerae Japonicae had significant impact on mice's ear swelling inhibition test result; and Radix et Rhizoma Slycyrrhizae and Radix Platycodi had great impact on phenol red's phlegm eliminating test result in mice, suggesting that every Chinese medicine (factor) had effect on certain pharmacodynamic action. CONCLUSION: The original formula is the reasonable and optimum one.

Objective The aim of this study was to understand the role of specific markers of stem cells Oct-4 expression in the development of human epidermal non-melanoma cutaneous tumors.Methods The paraffin-embedded samples were retrieved from files of pathology department at our hospital,including 20 cases of skin squamous cell carcinomas (SCC),20 cases of basal cell carcinomas (BCC),20 cases of seborrhoeic keratosis (SK) and 20 cases of normal skin (from head,face,trunk,extremities).The expression of Oct-4 and PCNA were observed by immunohistochemical staining technique.Results Oct-4 protein was abnormally increased in SCC and BCC comparel to normal skin and SK ( P ＜0.05 ).However there were no significant difference of Oct-4 protein expression between SCC and BCC ( P ＞0.05).There were also no significantly different Oct-4 protein expression between Sk and the normal skin ( P ＞ 0.05 ),and no significantly different Oct-4 protein expression between SK and BCC( P ＞0.05 ).PCNA protein was abnormally increased in SCC and BCC compared to normal skin and SK ( P ＜0.01 ).There were significantly different PCNA protein expression between SCC and BCC( P ＜0.05).There were also significantly different PCNA protein expression between SK and the normal skin ( P ＜ 0.05 ).However there were no significant difference of PCNA protein expression between SK and BCC ( P ＞ 0.05 ).There were positive correlation between the expression intensity of Oct-4 and PCNA in SCC and BCC.Conclusions The abnormal expression of Oct-4 may have an important role in the development of BCC and SCC.Positive Oct-4 expression cells may be the tumor stem cell in SCC and BCC.There were positive correlation between the expression intensity of Oct-4 and PCNA in SCC and BCC.The over expression Oct-4 in BCC and SCC may play an important role in proliferation of tumor.
