Objective To assess the efficacy of pulmonary surfactant on acute lung injury. Methods The randomized controlled study involving pulmonary surfactant on acute lung injury were identified from Cochrane Library,PubMed,China Academic Journals Full-text database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database and Chinese Journal Full-text database.According to inclusion and exclusion criteria, the quality of papers were evaluated and then extract the valid data for meta-analysis.Results The current study included 5 English papers, including 1219 cases of patients.Meta analysis showed that:(1) There was no significant difference between experimental group and control group in term of mechanical ventilation(WMD =-1.08,95% CI(-3.00,0.85),P =0.27).(2) Two studies conducted the ICU time comparison and there was no difference in experimental group and control group(WMD =-0.61,95%CI(-4.63-3.41),P =0.77).(3) Three studies were conducted the survival rates and no difference had found regarding of survival rates between experimental and control group (RR =1.41,95 % CI(0.94-2.11),P =0.10).Conclusion The existing clinical evidences showed the addition of pulmonary surfactant have no significant effect regarding of mechanical ventilation time,ICU length of stay and survival rate in patients with acute lung injury compared with conventional therapy However, due to the quality and the limitations of the studies and selection bias and measurement bias,it was needed more high-quality,large-scale randomized controlled clinical studies to validate.

To study the metabolite excretion of theophylline, a rapid and specific method by liquid chromatography with heated electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-HESI/MS/MS) method for simultaneous determination of theophylline, 1, 3-dimethyluric acid (1,3-DMU), 3-methylxanthine (3-MX) and 1-methyluric acid (1-MU) in human urine was developed using theophylline-d6 and 5-fluorouracil as internal standards. Selected reaction monitoring (SRM) with heated electrospray ionization (HESI) was used in the negative mode for mass spectrometric detection. After diluted with methanol and centrifuged, the analytes and ISs were separated on a XDB-Phenyl (150 mm x 4.6 mm, 5 microm) column with a mixture of water-methanol-formic acid (30 : 70 : 0.15) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.6 mL x min(-1). The linear calibration curves for theophylline, 1, 3-DMU, 3-MX and 1-MU were obtained in the concentration range of 1.0-250 microg x mL(-1), separately. The method herein described is effective and convenient, and can be used for determination of theophylline and its three metabolites. The results showed that urinary excretion ratio of theophylline, 1,3-DMU, 3-MX and 1-MU is approximately 1 : 3 : 1 : 2 in Chinese subjects, which is similar to the reported excretion pattern in Caucasian.

Objective To investigate the relationship between eosinophil and in-stent restenosis in acute coronary syndrome patients. Methods One hundred and fifity-one ACS cases werenenrolled in this study. According to the results of coronary angiography (the stented segment lumen loss over 50% was judged to be ISR), patients were divided into the restenosis group and the non-restenosis group. Results Based on the logistic analysis, no significant association was found between eosinophil and ISR, and even after adjustment of related risk factors (P > 0.05). The stratification analysis showed that the high level of eosinophil might increase the risk of ISR in ACS patients with history of hypertension (P = 0.038) and myocardial infarction (P = 0.032). Conclusion Eosinophil may be associated with the risk of ISR in ACS patients with history of hypertension and myocardial infarction. The underlying mechanisms need to be elucidated in further study.

OBJECTIVE:To establish the quality standard of Yanyan pills.METHODS: The constituents such as Lysimachia christinae,Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae and Radix Astragali were identified qualitatively by TLC,and the content of caffeotannic acid in L.christinae was determined by HPLC.RESULTS: The TLC spots were distinctive and well-isolated.The linear range of caffeotannic acid was 0.036~0.18 ?g(r=0.999 9)with an average recovery of 100.8%(RSD=0.67%,n=6).CONCLUSION: The established standard is applicable for the quality control of Yanyan pills.

AIM and METHODS:The Ph.D.-7 phage display library was used to isolate peptides specific for glioma SWO-38 cell by whole cell screening. Moreover, binding efficiency analysis was carried out to test the binding specificity of the clones obtained. RESULTS: After three rounds of biopanning,a high concentration of phage clones was obtained and two of them were found to be highly specific to glioma SWO-38. CONCLUSION: Highly specific clones against neurtral glioma cells can be obtained from a phage display library by simple procedures.
