Objective To investigate the prognostic value of heart rate turbulence (HRT) in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods From October 2006 to May 2009, a total of 96 elderly CHF inpatients were selected, and the clinic data were recorded. Based on the echocardiogram and dynamic electrocardiogram, the differences of sinus HRT index of patients with different cardiac function classification were analyzed. During 9-28 months medical follow-up, the treatment endpoint was death from heart disease. Based on Logisitc regression, the prognostic values of HRT, age, hypertension, diabetes, myocardial infarction (MI), left ventricular ejection fraction, ACEI and β- adrenergic blocker for death of CHF patients were analyzed. Results There was no significant difference in HRT between grade Ⅱ and grade Ⅲ cardiac function (χ~2 = 1.60, P>0. 05), and between grade Ⅲ and grade Ⅳ cardiac function (χ~2 = 1.43, P>0. 05). But there was significant difference in HRT between grade Ⅱ and grade Ⅳ cardiac function patients χ~2 =9.84, P<0. 05), and HRT was weaken in grade Ⅳ group. The average follow-up time was (18. 0±9.6) months. Of all 96 patients, there were 34 dead of heart disease. There were correlations of death of CHF with HRT, low LVEF (≤ 45%), age (≥65 years), diabetes, MI and classification of heart function. Conclusions The sinus HRT in CHF patients has a favorable prognostic value.

Neurology Asia 2013;18(3):293-301
Background & Objective: Early life stresses, such as social isolation, have lasting effects on the
development of emotion and behavior, in which vasopressin plays important roles. This study aimed
to assess the possible association of central release of vasopressin with social isolation. Methods:
The social isolation model was performed in male mice who endured 6-week social isolation after
weaning. Vasopressin expression in the paraventricular nucleus of hypothalamus (PVN) was measured
with immunohistochemistry. Released vasopressin from PVN was measured with radioimmunoassay.
Results: Vasopressin immunoreactive cells number decreased in the PVN, medial parvocellular division
in social isolation-reared mice, compared to the group-reared counterparts. Social isolation decreased
short social exposure-induced vasopressin release from PVN. Isolation-reared mice exhibited anxiogenic
profile and difficulty in social recognition.
Conclusions: This study provides new evidence for the important role of vasopressin in the development
of emotional and social behaviors.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of Shengjiang Xiexin Decoction (SXD) on the intestinal mucosal and functional cells of rats after irinotecan (CPT-11) chemotherapy.
METHODSTotally 24 healthy Sprague-Dawley (SD) male rats were divided into three groups, the normal control group, the CPT-11 group, the SXD combined CPT-11 group according to random digit table, 8 in each group. CPT-11 was injected at the daily dose of 150 mg/kg to rats in the CPT-11 group and the SXD combined CPT-11 group from the caudal vein on the 4th day, once daily for 2 successive days to duplicate delayed diarrhea model. Equal volume of normal saline was injected to rats in the normal control group from the caudal vein. SXD at 2 g/mL (10 g/kg body weight) was administered to rats in the SXD combined CPT-11 group by gastrogavage for 9 successive days. Deionized water was administered to rats in the CPT-11 group and the normal control group. Diarrhea was observed at 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, and 108 h to calculate the incidence rate of diarrhea. Meanwhile, scoring for diarrhea was performed by referring methods of Akinobu Kurita. Rats were killed on day 10, ileum, cecum, and colon tissues were collected and fixed in 10% formalin solution. HE staining was performed. Intestinal mucosa injuries were graded under light microscope according to the criterion of Chiu's score. The expressions of goblet cells and Paneth cells were observed by PAS stain. Enteroendocrine cells were observed by immunohistochemical CgA staining. Positive cells were counted and cumulative optical density (IOD) analyzed by Image-Pro-Plus 6.0.
RESULTSNo diarrhea occurred in rats of the normal control group at each time point. The incidence rate of diarrhea was 75.0% (6/8) at 48 h, 100.0% (8/8) at 60 h, 100.0% (8/8) at 72 h, 87.5% (7/8) at 84 h, 75.0% (6/8) at 96 h, and 75.0% (6/8) at 108 h in the CPT-11 group. The incidence rate of diarrhea was 25.0% (2/8) at 48 h, 50.0% (4/8) at 60 h, 12.5% (1/8) at 72 h, 0.0% (0/8) at 84 h in the SXD combined CPT-11 group. Compared with the same group at 60 h, scores for diarrhea at 48, 84, 96, and 108 h obviously decreased in the CPT-11 group, and scores for diarrhea at 48, 72, 84, 96, and 108 h obviously decreased in the SXD combined CPT-11 group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Compared with the same group at 72 h, scores for diarrhea at 84, 96, and 108 h obviously decreased in the CPT-11 group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Compared with the normal control group, scores for diarrhea increased in the CPT-11 group at each time point (P < 0.01); grading of ileum, cecum, and colon mucosal tissues increased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01); expressions of ileum and cecum mucosal epithelial goblet cells obviously decreased (P < 0.05); the number and expressions of ileum and cecum mucosal epithelial Paneth cells increased (P < 0.01). Expressions of ilium endocrine cells increased, while those of cecum and colon endocrine cells decreased in the CPT-11 group (P < 0.01). Compared with the CPT-11 group, scores for diarrhea were obviously lowered (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), grading of ileum, and cecum mucosal tissues decreased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01); expressions of ileum, cecum, and colon mucosal epithelial goblet cells obviously increased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01); the number and expressions of ileum cecum mucosal epithelial Paneth cells increased (P < 0.05); expressions of cecum and colon endocrine cells increased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) in the SXD combined CPT-11 group.
CONCLUSIONSXD played roles in preventing and treating CPT-11 induced delayed diarrhea by improving CPT-11 chemotherapy induced apoptosis and necrosis of intestinal mucosal and functional cells.

Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition 2018;25(3):138-141
Objective: To compare the effects of routine nutritional support and sufficient nutritional support on nutritional status and quality of life in patients with cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Methods: From February 2016 to February 2017, 86 patients with cancer undergoing chemotherapy were collected, and the nutritional risk was assessed by Nutritional Risk Screening Tools and Patient-Generated-Subjective Global Assessment. The included patients were randomized given conventional nutritional support and sufficient nutritional support (n=43 each group). At the end of chemotherapy, the effects of different nutrition support on the nutritional status and quality of life were evaluated via nutritional risk screening tools, quality of life scale, the BMI, and the level of serum total protein, serum albumin and hemoglobin. Results: The nutritional support was successfully completed both groups. In terms of nutritional status, the nutritional risk screening score was statistically significant among the nutrition support group before and after chemotherapy, and routine nutrition support group after chemotherapy (P < 0. 05). In addition, the level of serum albumin and hemoglobin in the sufficient nutritional support group were significantly higher than those before chemotherapy (P < 0. 05). The quality of life score, physical function, emotional function, life quality, overall symptom scale fatigue, nausea, insomnia, loss of appetite, constipation, and diarrhea in the sufficient nutrition support group were lower than those in the conventional nutritional support group (P < 0. 05). Conclusions: The sufficient nutritional support can effectively improve the nutritional status and the quality of life in cancer patients with nutritional risk after chemotherapy.

Abstract: Objective To understand the density changes and seasonal fluctuation of larvae and adults of Aedes albopictus in Hainan Province from 2017 to 2021, and to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and control of dengue fever and other vector-borne diseases in Hainan Province. Methods The Breteau index method was used to monitor the larvae of Aedes mosquitoes, and the breeding sites of all small indoor and outdoor water containers and their larvae was checked and recorded. The adult mosquitoes were monitored by double lamination and light trap. Results A total of 1 962 adult female Aedes albopictus mosquitoes were captured in Hainan Province from 2017 to 2021, accounting for 2.17% of the total captured mosquitoes. There were significant differences in mosquito species composition in different habitats in different years (χ2=312.258, P<0.01). In 2017, the density of mosquitoes in livestock sheds was the highest (9.71 per lamp·night), but the composition ratio of Aedes albopictus was the lowest (1.29%). In 2020, the mosquito density in hospitals was the lowest (2.22 mosquitoes per lamp·night), and in 2019, the proportion of Aedes albopictus in residential areas and hospitals was the highest (3.27% on average). The mosquito density in different habitats was the lowest in 2020. The proportion of Aedes albopictus in residential areas and livestock sheds showed an increasing trend from 2017 to 2021, while the proportion of other habitats showed significant fluctuations. The proportion of Aedes albopictus in hospitals showed an obvious decreasing trend in 2020. From 2017 to 2021, the average mosquito density was 5.97, 4.26, 3.82, 3.39 and 3.68 mosquitoes per lamp·night, respectively, showing a decreasing trend year by year except 2021. Except for 2019, the lure index also showed a decreasing trend, with an average value of 1.5/(hour·net), showing a decreasing trend year by year. From 2017 to 2021, the annual average density of Aedes albopictus in Hainan Province was 0.09 mosquitoes per lamp·night, showing obvious seasonal fluctuation. The Breteau index showed a slow decline from 2017 to 2021, and its annual peak was between June and August, which was 1-2 months later than the peak of adult mosquito density. Conclusions The population density of Aedes albopictus in Hainan shows obvious seasonal characteristics. Mosquito control activities should be carried out according to the seasonal characteristics of mosquitoes to reduce the risk of dengue fever and other infectious diseases.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2024;36(2):152-155,158
Objective:
To learn the levels of thyroid hormone indicators among interventional and diagnostic radiologists, so as to provide insights into occupational health monitoring of radiologists.
Methods:
Demographic information, body mass index (BMI), thyroid hormone indicators and cumulative individual doses over 5 years among interventional and diagnostic radiologists were collected through the personal dosimetry monitoring database of Ningbo Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Occupational Health Examination Center of a tertiary hospital in Ningbo City. The thyroid hormone indicators of different job types and cumulative individual doses over 5 years were analyzed, and factors affecting the thyroid hormone indicators were identified using a multivariable ordinal logistic regression model.
Results:
There were 159 interventional and 159 diagnostic radiologists included, and the proportions of abnormal thyroid hormone indicators were 9.43% and 12.26%, respectively, with no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). The levels of triiodothyronine and free triiodothyronine in interventional radiologists were lower than those in diagnostic radiologists [(1.54±0.41) vs. (1.68±0.34) nmol/L, (5.13±1.07) vs. (5.55±0.87) pmol/L; both P<0.05]. The levels of triiodothyronine and free triiodothyronine were significantly different among radiologists with cumulative individual doses over 5 years of <1.5 mSv, 1.5-<3.0 mSv and ≥3.0 mSv [(1.69±0.31), (1.69±0.40) vs. (1.52±0.41) nmol/L, (5.60±0.83), (5.32±0.94) vs. (5.14±1.09) pmol/L; both P<0.05]. Multivariable ordinal logistic regression analysis identified BMI (<18.5 kg/m2, OR=0.111, 95%CI: 0.028-0.436) and cumulative individual doses over 5 years (<1.5 mSv, OR=6.259, 95%CI: 2.368-16.547) as the factors affecting triiodothyronine, and job types (diagnostic radiologists, OR=3.171, 95%CI: 1.529-6.574), BMI (18.5-<24.0 kg/m2, OR=0.393, 95%CI: 0.184-0.842), and gender (men, OR=3.449, 95%CI: 1.294-9.190) as the factors affecting free triiodothyronine.
Conclusion
Occupational exposure has a certain impact on the thyroid hormone indicators among interventional and diagnostic radiologists, and the main influencing factors include BMI, radiation dose, job type and gender.
