Objective To investigate the efficacy of esomeprazole (Esomeprazole) and flupentixol and melitracen (Deanxit) in treatment of non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (NERD) with depression and anxiety. Methods The diagnosis of NERD was based on the results of esorneprazole scale (reflux diagnostic ques- tionnaires,RDQ) and endoscopy, the degree and frequency of symptoms were graded and scored.Hamilton de- pression scale was used to evaluate depression and anxiety status.Sixty-three patients were randomly divided into group A (esomeprazole 20 mg qd),B (Deanxit 1 tab qd),C (esomeprazole 20 mg qd and Deanxit 1 tab qd) with each group 21 patients, and treated for four weeks. The efficacy was evaluated by the symptom scores. Results There were some effects of esomeprazole or Deanxit alone on the improvement of symptoms of NERD.Although the effect of Deanxit was not as good as esomeprazole, there was not difference for relieving heartburn and sub- sternal pain between two groups in time point of each week after treatment (P>0.05).esomeprazole was better for relieving acid regurgitation than Deanxit (P<0.01).Combined treatment of esomeprazole with Deanxit was better and faster for relieving the symptoms of NERD than esomeprazole or Deanxit alone (relieving rate 81% in group C,23.8% in group A and 14.3% in group B,P<0.01).The total efficacy rate of group C (100%) was higher than that of group A (80.9%) or group B (61.9%,P<0.01),but there were not difference of relieving rate and total efficacy rate between group A and B (P>0.05).Conclusions There was better efficacy of com- bined treatment of esomeprazole and low-dose Deanxit in treating NERD with depression and anxiety. These re- sults suggest that depression and anxiety have some effects on the pathogenesis and progress of NERD.

Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2003;32(2):131-136
OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of divalent metal transporter 1 (DMT1) mRNA in male Sprague-Dawley rat heart of different ages and the expression of DMT1 regulated by dietary iron.
METHODSReverse transcriptase (RT)-PCR and Western blot were used in this study.
RESULTS(1)Two isoforms of DMT1 mRNA [with and without iron-responsive element (IRE)] were both detected in rat heart, which were correlated with heart iron content. During development, both of two isoforms of DMT1 mRNA expression were the lowest at the age of PND 7, and increased at PND 21, 63 to 196. (2) After fed with a high iron diet or low iron diet for 6 weeks, the rats developed iron overload or iron deficiency respectively. No significant differences in DMT1 mRNA expression were detected among iron overload, iron deficiency and control rats. By using Western blot analysis, a 21% and 40% reduction in DMT1 protein non IRE form and IRE form respectively were found in iron overload rat (P<0.01, compared with control). Increases (26% approximate, equals 28%) in the levels of two isoforms of DMT1 protein were also observed in iron deficient rat (P<0.01, compared with control).
CONCLUSIONThe level of DMT1 mRNA expression in heart is age dependent;the two isoforms of DMT1 protein may be both regulated by iron on the posttranscriptional mechanism.

To prepare thymosin alpha-1 (Talpha) loaded injectable sustained release microspheres and to evaluate its release behavior, bioactivities in vitro as well as its pharmacodynamics in vivo, Talpha1 loaded microspheres was prepared with poly ( lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) as carrier material by double emulsion (W/O/W) method. Physical and chemical properties of microspheres, such as mean diameter, The release behavior and its influencing factors were morphology and drug loading were evaluated. evaluated by HPLC determination. The bioactivity of Talpha1 in the course of encapsulation process and in vitro release ware evaluated by CCK-8 method. The ratio of CD4+/CD8+ in blood was determined with flow cytometry and the pharmacodynamics of Ta, loaded microspheres was evaluated by the change of CD4+/ CD8+. Microspheres with good shape and dispersive quality were prepared. The drug entrapment efficiency of two optimizing prescriptions containing 5% NaCl and 10% glucose as outer water phase were 87. 8% and 90. 2% , respectively. The cumulated release in one month is up to 90%. The bioactivity of Talpha was conserved with glucose as outer water phase, but in the course of in vitro release, the specific activity of Talpha in the microspheres decreased a little. Talpha microspheres can increase significantly the immunity of immuno-suppressed rats. Talpha can be encapsulated in injectable microspheres to yield one-month continuous release when using biodegradable polymers PLGA as carrier material, and this technique will have a favorable perspective in the near future.

Background and purpose: With the development of the means of preoperative diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, ifne needle puncture no longer seems to be popular with the clinical use. The safety and effectiveness of fine needle aspiration as preoperative diagnosis of breast cancer are controversial. This study was aimed to investigate the application of fine needle aspiration (FNA) of breast cancer and association between FNA and recurrence and metastasis for 30 years in our hospital. Methods:A total number of 1 260 patients with breast cancer treated in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from 1975 to 2006 were reviewed in two groups for clinical characters, recurrence, and survival rate. The two groups were FNA and non-FNA. Results:The positive rate of FNA was 61.4%and the highest rate was inⅣstage (100%). StageⅡandⅢwere the major ones in FNA group (45.2%). The local recurrence (7.0%vs 6.4%), recurrence and metastasis (13.2%vs 14.0%), 5-year (82.0%vs 81.0%) and 10-year disease free survival rates (51.0%vs 64.0%) have no signiifcant difference between FNA and non-FNA groups. Conclusion:FNA is still one of the most important methods for preoperative investigation of breast cancer. Chinese Journal of Medical Ultrasound (Electronic Edition) 2013;(6):480-483
Objective To explore the value of transrectal ultrasound (TRS) in diagnosing middle ureteral calculi. Methods Patients who were suspected as middle urinary calculi by clinicians underwent transabdominal ultrasound (TAS) and transrectal ultrasound in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University and Guangzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional and West Medicine from 2011 to 2012. The diagnosis were finally confirmed by a variety of methods .Results Forty patients were eventually diagnosed as middle ureteral calculi by X-ray,computer tomography (CT),surgery, intravenous pyelography (IVP)imaging and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).The other 5 cases were diagnosed as ureteral tumor , ureteral cystis(confirmed by MRI)and oppressed ureteral by gynecology cystis (confirmed by surgery).TRS detected 37 of 40 middle ureteral calculi(92.5%).TAS detected 8 of 40 middle ureteral calculi(20.0%). The detection ratio of TRS was higher than that of TAS and the difference was statistically significant (P=0.00).TAS could display ureter across iliac blood vessels expansion in all 40 patients. Conclusions Using TRS in diagnosing middle ureteric calculi is quick , convenient with high sensitivity and worthy of wide application.TAS can display ureter across iliac blood vessels expansion and can help to diagnosis of middle ureteral calculi.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2008;28(3):263-265
OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effect of self-formulated Tongdatang serial recipe (TDT) in treating antipsychotic drug-induced galactorrhea-amenorrhea syndrome (GAS).
METHODSOne hundred female schizophrenic patients with antipsychotic drug-induced GAS were selected and equally assigned to the treatment group and the control group at random. Both received antipsychotic drug-therapy, but combined with TDT and placebo respectively. The efficacy was evaluated by determining prolactin level before, 4 and 8 weeks after treatment.
RESULTSThe treatment course was completed in 96% of patients. Therapeutic efficacy on the 49 patients of the treatment group was cured in 31 (63.3%), markedly effective in 11 (22.4%), effective in 4 (8.2%) and ineffective in 3 (6.1%), with total effective rate of 93.9%, while in 47 patients of the control group, the corresponding cases (%) was 0, 3 (6.4%) , 7 (14.9%) and 37 (78.7%), respectively, with the total effective rate of 21.3%. Prolactin levels in the two groups were insignificantly different before treatment, it reduced in the treatment group after treatment (P < 0.01), and the decrement in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSatisfactory effect could achieved by using TDT for treatment of antipsychotic drug-induced GAS.
