Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2015;34(11):1210-1212
Objective To investigate the association between serum uric acid (SUA)levels and outcome in acute ischemic stroke. Methods A total of 388 acute ischemic stroke patients were included in the prospective case study.Data on demographic characteristics, risk factors for life style, history of disease, the admission SUA and outcome at discharge were collected for all participants. Results Mean serum uric acid levels were (284.5±83.6) μmol/L in the normal uric acid? group, and(455.3±78.1)μmol/L in the high uric acid group(P<0.01).There were significant differences in National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score at two weeks between the high UA group and the normal UA group [(11.0±6.0) vs.(11.0±5.3),P=0.048], and also in early neurological improvement (P=0.048).A significant difference was found in serum uric acid level between patients with good versus poor neurological function outcome (P =0.045).Conclusions There is the association between admission serum uric acid levels and outcome in acute ischemic stroke.Elevated serum uric acid level predicts a lower chance of a poor outcome in acute ischemic stroke.

International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2011;33(11):972-975
ObjectiveTo comprehensively evaluate the curative effect ofTCM reating type 2 diabetes with three type dialectical therapy by Fuzzy Mathematics.Methods261 cases of 2 type diabetes were divided into three groups by syndrome differentiation,as follows:type of heat with yin deficiency, type of deficiency of both qi and yin,and type of deficiency of both yin and yang, and received corresponding therapies. The course of treatment was 24 weeks,in the first 12 weeks (period 1),on the basis of western medicine treatment, patients of the three groups were respectively treated by qingrungranules, ziyigranule and shuangtiaogranules. In the next 12 weeks (period 2),all patients were only treated by western medicine. The value of FBG,P2BG,HbAlc,TC,TG,BMI of the two periods were comprehensively evaluated by the methods of fuzzy mathematics.ResultsAt the end of period 1,the total effective rate of the type of heat with yin deficiency was 91.38%,the type of deficiency of both qi and yin was 87.16%,and the type of deficiency of both yin and yang was 83.34%; while at the end of period 2,the total effective rate of the three types was 59.18%,48.65%a nd32.65% respectively.ConclusionThe effective rate was obviously improved in period 1; while in period 2,the effective rate was decreased.

Objective To investigate the incidence of the pusher syndrome in stroke patients, and the relationship between the syndrome and the neuropsychological symptoms and location of brain lesion, and to investigate the mechanism and the physiotherapy intervention of pusher syndrome. Methods Thirty nine patients(25 male, 14 female, 62.5?9.4 years old) with pusher syndrome were examined, 91 patients(57 male,34 female, 58.4?11.6 years old) without ipsilateral pushing served as control. The lesion areas, neuropsychological syndrome and the Barthel Index(BI) were recorded, and the physiotherapy were administered in the patients. Results The incidence of pusher syndrome was 30% in the patients studied, corresponding to 17% of the total number of stroke patients in the study period. The percentage of pusher syndrome occurrence was higher in the patients with right side lesion than those with left side lesion ( P

Objective To probe the value of clinical application of three dimensional contrast enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (3D CE MRA) for diagnosis of peripheral artery occlusive diseases (PAOD) and to assess its accuracy. Methods One hundred and three cases of PAOD received 3D CE MRA before operation. And 579 vascular segments were displayed. The diagnosis of 3D CE MRA before operation were compared with the results of vascular reconstruction surgeries of lower extremities. The image quality and how 3D CE MRA revealed the abnormal blood vessels were evaluated. Results Satisfactory images of the main arteries of the lower extremities were achieved by 3D CE MRA. In 579 vascular segments of 103 patients with PAOD,the sensitivity and specificity for detection of severe stenosis and occlusions were 97.6% and 95.4%,respectively. In 206 vascular segments of tibiofibula artery, the sensitivity was 100%. In 196 vascular segments of femoral artery, the specificity was 97%. Conclusion 3D CE MRA is accurate and reliable for determination of the degree of peripheral artery stenosis. The results of 3D CE MRA are concordant with that of operation.

Objective To elevated the decontam ination properties of commercial nanoscale metal oxides against chemical warfare agents (CWA), and provide more foundation for the satisfactory materials of CWA decontamination. Methods Some nanocrystals of commercial metal oxides such an MgO, TiO2, ZnO and zinc nickel ferrite compound had been chosen to compare their decontamination properties. The nanocrystals were mixed with three representative compounds, sulfur mustard (HD), soman (GD) and S-(2-diisopropylaminoethyl) O-ethyl methylphosphonothioate (VX) at room temperature and natural light. The analogous experiments were conducted without addition of nanocrystals as negative control. After a fixed time, the samples were then analyzed by the methods of T-135, Schoeneman reaction and conversion method to determine the content of CWA. The decontamination properties of nanocrystals were compared with negative control. Results The chosen nanoscale metal oxides excepted nanoscale MgO had good decontamination properties against HD, and they all could decontaminate GD quickly. Nanoscale TiO2 had superior decontamination properties against GD and HD. At the room temperature and natural light, HD was completely decontaminated within 20 hours and GD was completely decontaminated within 4 hours by nanoscale TiO2. The nanocrystals of metal oxides didn′t decontaminate VX effectively. Compared to the activated clay group, nanoscale MgO had superior decontamination properties against VX over other nanocrystals (P<0.05), but the percentage of degradation was lower than 20% within 7 h. Conclusion The chosen nanoscale TiO2 has superior decontamination properties against GD and HD than others in natural condition, but it isn′t a promising agent for the decontamination of VX.

Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
Two Pseudomonas strains, K80 - B and K80 - A, can use hydrocarbon as carbon source by two different mechanisms. Different effects can be observed when they are applied to 69-8 oil of Dagan Oil Field. The strain K80-B producing both hydrocarbon pseudosolubilizing factor and hydrocarbon emulsifying factor can decrease the viscosity and solidifying point of the 69-8 oil 51.6% and 2℃ respectively. Whereas the other can only decrease 43.5% and 3℃ respectively. When the two strains are mixed, synergistic effect on crude oil is obvious.

It has been reported that celastrus orbiculatus has anti-cancer activities. The mechanism mainly lies in its functions of inhibiting tumor cell proliferation, inducing tumor cell apoptosis, repressing tumor angiogenesis, and reversing tumor multidrug resistance, etc. To study the material basis of its anti-cancer pharmacodynamics and the mechanism of tumor inhibition has significant meanings and a wide application perspective.
