Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of scalp-acupuncture on post-apoplectic depression.Methods: Twenty-nine patients with depression due to cerebral apoplexy were treated by scalp-acupuncture and compared with 28 cases of medicine group chosen randomly. Results: In scalp-acupuncture group, the total effective rate was 89. 6%. In medicine group (control group), the total effective rate was 71.4%. Conclusion:The result showed that the therapeutic effect in scalp-acupuncture group was obviously better than that in medicine group (P＜0.05).

Objective To observe the influence of warm ischemia time on acquisition of rat pancreatic islets and islet function.Method Male Wistar rats were used.After heart beats stopped,the pancreases in four groups of rats were harvested,and warm ischemia time was 0,15,30 and 45 min separately.The pancrease was preserved in UW at 4℃C for 8 h,and subjected to injection of collagenase solutions.After islets were acquired,the purity,survival rate and islet activity were tested,and statistical analysis was performed.Result The number of islets obtained in 0 min group,15 min group,30 min group and 45 min group was (433 ± 41),(396 ± 38),(350 ± 31) and (66 ± 17)IEQ/one,islet viability was 94％,88％,77％ and 25％,and purity was 88％,78％,60％ and 32％,and insulin release index was 2.38 ± 0.23,2.25 ± 0.18,2.19-± 0.18 and 1.25 ± 0.12,respectively.There was no significant difference in islet number,purity,survival rate and activity 15 min group and 30 min group between 15 min group or 30 min group and 0 min group (P＞0.05).There was significant difference between 45 min group and 0 min group in islet number,purity,survival rate and activity (P＜0.05).The survival rate and purity in 45 min group were lower than the clinical standards for islet transplantation (survival rate ＞ 75％,and purity ＞ 50％).Conclusion Warm ischemia time of 15 min in non-heart-beating brain death(NHBD) rats had no effect on islet isolation and purification.Warm ischemia time within 30 min showed no significant influence on islets of NHBD rats,which can be used in islet transplantation.Warm ischemia time at 45 min showed significant influence on islets of NHBD rats,which can't be used in islet transplantation.

Aim To study the effect of As_2O_3(arsenic trioxide) on the expressions of telomeric repeat binding factor1,2 and telomeric stability of human gastric cancer MGC803 cells, and explore the mechanism of cell apoptosis. Method MGC803 cell growth inhibition was measured with MTT assay. Apoptosis was analyzed with flow cytometry. Influence on chromosome distal end was analyzed with chromosome end-end fusion analysis. Expressions of TRF1 and TRF2 were determined with Western blot analysis. Results MTT assay showed that As_2O_3 clearly inhibited the growth of MGC803 cells, depending on time and dosage. The apoptosis rates were significantly higher than those of the control group in a concentration and time-dependent manner. These changes were not found in the control group. After disposal with 5 ?mol?L -1 As_2O_3, chromosome fusion rate was obviously increased in 48 h. After 48 h of disposal with 5 ?mol?L -1 As_2O_3, the TRF1 of MGC803 cells was up-regulated while TRF2 was down-regulated. Conclusion As_2O_3 induced chromosome fusion and MGC803 cells apoptosis through up-regulating expressin of TRF1 and down-regulating expressin of TRF2.

AIM To study the effects of growth inhibition of different concentrations of diallyl trisulfide(DATS) on gastric cancer MGC 803 cell line in vitro. METHODS The influence of different concentrations of DATS were examined by MTT assay, clonal formation rates and cell growth curve. RESULTS Suppression and decrease of MGC 803 cell proliferation was found after treatment by DATS in vitro. The inhibitory rates on MGC 803 cell growth of different concentration of DATS,4, 8, 12, 16 and 24 mg?L -1 , were 26%,46%,65%,76% and 89% respectively, and its half inhibitory concentration (IC 50 ) was 8 2 mg?L -1 . The clonal formation rates and clonal formation relative counts of 8, 12, 16 and 24 mg?L -1 were 32 4% and 58 7%,24 8% and 42 5%,19 0% and 33 5%?8 8% and 15 1% respectively.There was significant correlation between dose and effect in all, and the cell growth culve became lower and flatter when concentration of DATS increase gradually. CONCLUSION The effect of growth inhibition of DATS for gastric cancer MGC 803 cell in vitro is remarkable.

Objective To evaluate the relationship of metabolic syndrome (MS) and MS components with thyroid nodule. Methods A total of 10 357 subjects ( age ＞ 18 years old) who received physical checkup at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University between June 2009 and June 2010 were enrolled in this retrospective study. Anthropometric parameter, fasting plasma glucose (FPG),serum lipid profile, blood uric acid, alanine aminotransferase and thyroid ultrasonography were measured. Results The prevalence of thyroid nodule,MS,and thyroid nodule + MS was 46. 96% ,23. 6%,and 11.6%, respectively. The prevalence of thyroid nodule was significantly higher in MS patients than in non MS patients ( 75.9% vs 38. 0%, P ＜ 0. 05 ). Multifactor logistic analysis showed that MS, body mass index (BMI) and FBG (β vales were 0. 78,1.22,and 0. 62,respectively; odds ratios were 4. 167,3. 876,and 2. 359, respectively; all P ＜ 0. 05 ) were independently correlated with the development of thyroid nodule. Conclusions Significantly increased prevalence of thyroid nodule could be found in MS patients. BMI and FBG may be independent risk factors of thyroid nodule.

BACKGROUND: Posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) arises as a delayed and /or protracted response to a stressful event or situation of an exceptionally threatening or catastrophic nature. There have been reports about natural disasters causing PTSD, but there have been few reports about PTSDcaused by technological disasters. Our study investigated the mental status of those survivors after a serious explosion.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the characteristics and the factors of impact of PTSD caused by technological disasters.DESIGN: A case controlled study of the survivors of a momentous explosion.SETTING: A provincial mental health center.PARTICIPANTS: A serious explosion happened in Urumqi on September 8, 2000. Twenty-eight survivors(as the study group) who were still hospitalized for treatment 3 -5 months after the accident were involved in this study. And in the control group were 30 normal persons whose general demographic data were the same as those patients.METHODS: A psychiatrist told the subjects the following: The objective and meaning of the test, and explained the self-making questionnaire about their general condition, symptom checklist (SCL-90), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale(SDS), cornell medical index(CMI), the questionnaire on dealing styles, the questionnaire on social support, and others-evaluating scale, incident effect scale(IES); a list of stress reaction symptoms.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Main resulta:①Clinical feature of PTSD caused by the technological disaster.②the related factors to PTSD in the technologal disaster.Secondary results: Comparison of the results between the two groups in IES, CMI, SDS and SAS.RESULTS: A total of 22(79% ) survivors met the criteria as PTSD. There were significant differences in all the assessments(IES, CMI, SDS, SAS,SCL-90) between the study group and the control group (t =3.62-8.17, P ＜ 0.01 ) . The diagnosis of PTSD was positively correlated with the level of traumatic exposure( r = 0. 420, P ＜ 0. 05), and negatively correlated with the degree of satisfaction with the post-event solutions( r = 0. 420, P＜ 0.05), positively correlated with IES scoring and the level of heart pain ( r = 0. 389 - 0. 665, P ＜ 0. 01 ) . The total scores of IES were positively correlated with the level of exposure ( r = 0. 478, P ＜ 0.05 ).CONCLUSION: The incidence of PTSD after explosion was high, and its occurrence was related with the degree of exposure in the event and that of the satisfaction with the post-event solutions.

Objective To survey the prevalence of Hyperuricemia (HUA) in elder population of Changchun city,and to detect the correlation between cardiovascular risk factors and the HUA.Methods 900 residents older than 55 years were selected randomly for this questionnaire survey.Physical and laboratory examinations were performed.Results The HUA prevalence rate elder people in Xixin District of Changchun was 16.0％(144/900),while the rates were 13.7％(50/365),15.2％(47/309) and 20.8％(47/226) (P＜0.05) in the elder group (55-65 years),the aged group (66-75 years),and the advanced aged group (older than 76 years) respectively;there was no statistical significant difference in the prevalences between male and female (x2=0.023 5,P＞0.05).The HUA prevalence rate was significantly different between people who had different level of blood pressure,cholesterol,hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP),body mass index (BMI),waisthip ratio (WHR).The level of uric acid (UA),total cholesterol (TC) and hs-CRP was significantly different in people with high uric acid when compared with those of normal patients (P＜0.05).There was positive correlation between UA level and TC,triglyceride (TG) level (r=0.364,P＜0.05;r=0.479,P＜0.05).Conclusion The HUA prevalence rate increases significantly as people getting older.There is positive correlation between the increase of uric acid level and the major cardiovascular risk factor.People with hypertension,hyperlipidemia,overweight and obese have high risk for HUA,so change life style and dietary habits may prevent or reduce the occurrence of HUA.

The severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) is a new member in the genus Phlebovirus of the family Bunyaviridae identified in China. The SFTSV is also the causative pathogen of an emerging infectious disease: severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome. Using immunofluorescent staining and confocal microscopy, the intracellular distribution of nucleocapsid protein (NP) in SFTSV-infected THP-1 cells was investigated with serial doses of SFTSV at different times after infection. Transmission electron microscopy was used to observe the ultrafine intracellular structure of SFTSV-infected THP-1 cells at different times after infection. SFTSV NP could form intracellular inclusion bodies in infected THP-1 cells. The association between NP-formed inclusion bodies and virus production was analyzed: the size of the inclusion body formed 3 days after infection was correlated with the viral load in supernatants collected 7 days after infection. These findings suggest that the inclusion bodies formed in SFTSV-infected THP-1 cells could be where the SFTSV uses host-cell proteins and intracellular organelles to produce new viral particles.

The clinical therapeutic effect of acupoint catgut-embedding for simple obesity was systemically analyzed to provide reference and assistance for its clinical treatment and research. By searching in the CBM, CNKI, VIP, Wanfang, Pubmed, Springer and Medline databases, clinical randomized controlled trials (RCT) of acupoint catgut-embedding for simple obesity published from Jan, 2009 to July, 2013 were collected while Revman 5. 2 software was applied to perform the Meta-analysis. Totally 19 articles were acquired with 1 658 cases involved. The effective rate was selected as primary outcome measure in 19 articles. The Meta-analysis was performed among homogeneous researches. The results indicated that compared with other therapies, pooled OR of acupoint catgut-embedding was 2.45 with 95% CI [1.81, 3.32]; in the test for overall effect, Z = 5.81, implying the efficacy difference of two therapies was significant in the treatment of simple obesity (P < 0.01). In subgroups analysis, in the event of treatment session with more than 3 months, compared with other therapies, pooled OR of acupoint catgut-embedding was 2.61 with 95% CI [1.53, 4.46]; in test for overall effect, Z = 3.51, implying the efficacy difference of two therapies was significant in the treatment of simple obesity (P < 0.01); in the event of treatment session with less than 3 months, compared with other therapies, pooled OR of acupoint catgut-embedding was 2.38 with 95% CI [1.65, 3.44]; in test for overall effect, Z = 4.46, implying in the treatment of simple obesity the efficacy difference of two therapies was significant (P < 0.01). Compared with electroacupuncture, OR of acupoint catgut-embedding was 1.79, 95% CI [1.08, 2.95] (P = 0.02). Compared with acupuncture, OR of acupoint catgut-embedding was 1.89, 95% CI [1.16, 3.09] (P = 0.01), which explained that compared with electroacupuncture and acupuncture, the efficacy of acupoint catgut-embedding was significantly different. In a word, the clinical efficacy of acupoint catgut-embedding is superior to other therapies in the treatment of simple obesity.
