2.Practice of Clinical Pharmacists in the Antibacterial Treatment of One Case of Osteomyelitis

Objective: To discuss the role of clinical pharmacists played in the pharmaceutical care for osteomyelitis patients. Methods:Clinical pharmacists participated in the treatment for a special patient with osteomyelitis. Taking the disease features, medi-cal history, adverse drug reactions into account, clinical pharmacists provided consultant opinions for establishing and adjusting the ap-propriate therapeutic regimens and individualized pharmaceutical care. Results:The drug treatment regimens for the patient were safe, effective and rational. By the individualized pharmaceutical care, clinical pharmacists were able to find the problems in the drug treat-ment and implement the efficient solutions. Conclusion: Clinical pharmacists show their own advantages in individual pharmaceutical care, and play an important role in improving the rational drug use.
3.Phenylpropanoid constituents from the roots of Euphorbia hylonoma Hand-Mazz

Objective To study the phenylpropanoid constituents from the roots of Euphorbia hylonoma Hand-Mazz. Methods The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography,and the structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical properties and spectral data. Results Three phenylpropanoid constituents were isolated from the acetone extracts of the roots of Euphorbia hylonoma Hand-Mazz,which were hexadecyl-3-methoxy-4-hydroxybenzeneacrylate Ⅰ,ethyl brevifolincarboxylate Ⅱ and(+) 3′-angeloyl-4′-isovalerylcis-khellactone peuformosin Ⅲ. Conclusion The above compounds were isolated from Euphorbia hylonoma Hand-Mazz for the first time,and the compound Ⅲ was the first obtained from the Euphorbiaceae.
4.Clinical analysis of congenital diaphragmatic hernia in newborn infants: report of 33 cases

Objective To review the clinical experience of diagnosis and treatment of the congenital diaphragmatic hernia in newborn infants. Methods Thirty-three neonates were diagnosed having congenital diaphragmatic hernia in our hospital from Jan. 1,2004 to Sept. 30, 2009. The clinical data was retrospectively reviewed. Results 21 cases were treated surgically and 17 survived, while 4 cases died. The main cause of death was congenital pulmonary dysplasia. Another 12 cases refused to accept surgical treatment and they all died, one died shortly after he was born. Four cases who had been diagnosed by prenatal ultrasonography were survived. Conclusion The mortality of congenital diaphragmatic hernia in neonates was still high. Prenatal diagnosis of the congenital diaphragmatic hernia is very important and the cooperation between the obstetrics, neonatology and cardiothoracic surgery will improve the survival rate of congenital diaphragmatic hernia in newborn infants.
5.Evaluation of alveolar ridge reconstruction and esthetic result following immediate implant

Objective:To evaluate the bone alteration subject to remodeling and analyze the esthetic result following immediate implant placement of incisors.Methods:In this study,20 patients (1 3 women,7 men)were involved,who needed implants for incisors of maxilla.The patients received 23 im-mediate implants totally.On the day of surgery and 6 months after the implants were placed,Cone beam CT (CBCT)was taken.The thickness of the alveolar ridge and the vertical change of marginal bone levels onthe mesial and distal aspects of theimplants were measured using the computer software (Planme-caRomexis Viewer 3.6.0.R).The evaluation of esthetic result by labial convexity score (LCS)and pa-pilla index score (PIS)were analyzed pre-operation and one year after the final crown was delivered.The statistics with paired-t test for the measurement data and Willcoxon test for rating data were done by SPSS 20.0.Results:The survival rate in the two-year follow-up was 1 00%.The measuring point 1 (MP1 ), MP2,MP3 and MP4 (0,2,4,6 mm apical to the implant platform,respectively)got significant altera-tions after 6 months of the follow-up.These differences were statistically significant (P<0.05 ).The major alteration happened at MP1 and MP4,which got (-0.89 ±2.06)mm and (-0.75 ±1 .28)mm reduction of the alveolar,respectively.The marginal alveolar ridge resorption was (-0.42 ±1 .24)mm and(-0.91 ±1 .96)mm for Ankylos System and Replace System,respectively,and the difference was not statistical significant .The esthetic results were quite acceptable.Before treatment,1 8 incisors rated 3 for LCS,and 2 incisors rated 4 for LCS;after final restoration,only 5 incisors rated 3 for LCS,and 1 4 incisors rated 2 for LCS.Before treatment,1 5 incisors rated 3 for PIS;after final restoration,1 3 incisors rated 3 for PIS.There was no statistically significant difference for the PIS pre-operation and 1 year after final restoration,while there was statistically significant negative change for LCS.Conclusion:Even fol-lowing the proper surgical technique,the alveolar ridge wall still can’t be maintained after immediate im-plant placed in fresh socket of incisors.The inter-dental papilla could be well maintained,while due to the remodeling of labial bone,labial convexity will inevitably collapse.Therefore immediate implant still has esthetic risk.
6.Pilot study of laser-doppler flowmetry measurement of oral mucosa blood flow

Objective:To explore and compare the perfusion pattern of oral mucosa on Han Chinese and Caucasian by laser-doppler flowmetry.Methods:A cross-sectional study was carried out,in 20 healthy Han Chinese adult subjects (average age:28.4 years)and 20 healthy Caucasian (average age:25.3 years)adult subjects,either gender with 10 subjects.Gingival perfusion was evaluated at 8 points (including upper incisor labial gingival,lower incisor labial gingival,palatal mucosa,cheek mucosa) using a laser-doppler flowmetry(O2C,Medizintechnik GmbH,Germany).Each measurement was car-ried out 25 seconds consisting 5 seconds of foreperiod and 20 seconds of work period,without pressure. The measurements were taken by two well-trained doctors,each measurement was exammed 3 times by an examiner,and the average value was recorded as final data.Each measurement has 4 parame ters:SpO2 (oxygen saturation),rHB (relative amount of hemoglobin),flow (the blood flow of unit interval),and velocity (blood flow velocity).We compared the data by different sites,different genders,and different races.Results:For palatal gingival,the average SpO2 was 77.1% ±10.9%,the average rHB 67.8 ± 11.1,and the average flow 194.1 ±63.7,which presented significant lower values than other oral muco-sa.There was no significant difference among other sites.There was some significant difference between the Caucasian and the Han Chinese:the maxillary central incisor oxygen saturation (SpO2)which were averages of 75.6% ±8.2% and 70.4% ±7.6%;buccal mucosa hemoglobin (rHB)averages of 79.9 ±5.8 and 83.5 ±6.6,which had statistical differences.For most measurement points,the oxygen saturation on men was lower than that on women,which had significant difference.Conclusion:To inves-tigate microcirculation pattern,oral mucosa can be the good observation site.Laser-doppler flowmetry is a well-documented instrument to survey on microcirculation.There may be differences between the genders in hemoglobin oxygen-binding capacity,which may have some impact on the ability of soft tissue healing. Oral mucosa display more blood perfusion than attached gingival.As the recipient site of gingival graft, maxilla and mandible have slight difference in blood supply.
7.Comparison of Rhizospheric Soil DNA Isolation and Purification Methods from the Root of Fritillaria thunbergii Miq

Six DNA extraction methods and four DNA purification methods were compared and analyzed in this study to get higher quality DNA from the rhizospheric soil of Fritillaria thunbergii Miq.Results showed that higher purity DNA were harvested by pretreating the soil with 20 mmol/L EDTA(pH 7.5),then isolating soil DNA with CTAB-SDS-frozen-thawing,and further purified by agarose method.The recovery rate of this soil DNA was about 44.00 ?g/g ? 2.65 ?g/g soil,and they were qualified for the microbial diversity analysis in the rhizospheric soil of F.thunbergii Miq based on the 16S rDNA sequence.
8.Bioinformatics analysis and construction of eukaryotic expression plasmid of Cx50 V64G mutation

AIM : To construct and analyze eukaryotic expression plasmid inserted by Cx50 with V64G mutation through bioinformatics software.METHODS: The full coding domain sequence of Cx50 with V64G mutation was acquired from the blood of patients with cataract and was cloned into pcDNA3.1 /Amp (+).The constructed plasmid was identified with PCR , enzyme digestion and sequencing. The analysis of Cx50 with V64G mutation was performed with bioinformatics software.RESULTS : Cx50 with V64G mutation was successfully amplified and its eukaryotic expression plasmid was constructed. Valine-64 is well conserved in the first extracellular loop of connexin 50 in different species and also in different human α -type gap junctional proteins.CONCLUSION : The successive reconstruction and verification of eukaryotic expression plasmid containing Cx50 with V64G mutation established the foundation for further studying the mechanism of cataract.
10.Effect of Shengjiang Xiexin Decoction on the Repair of Damaged Rat Intestinal Mucosa after Irinotecan Chemotherapy.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of Shengjiang Xiexin Decoction (SXD) on the intestinal mucosal and functional cells of rats after irinotecan (CPT-11) chemotherapy.
METHODSTotally 24 healthy Sprague-Dawley (SD) male rats were divided into three groups, the normal control group, the CPT-11 group, the SXD combined CPT-11 group according to random digit table, 8 in each group. CPT-11 was injected at the daily dose of 150 mg/kg to rats in the CPT-11 group and the SXD combined CPT-11 group from the caudal vein on the 4th day, once daily for 2 successive days to duplicate delayed diarrhea model. Equal volume of normal saline was injected to rats in the normal control group from the caudal vein. SXD at 2 g/mL (10 g/kg body weight) was administered to rats in the SXD combined CPT-11 group by gastrogavage for 9 successive days. Deionized water was administered to rats in the CPT-11 group and the normal control group. Diarrhea was observed at 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, and 108 h to calculate the incidence rate of diarrhea. Meanwhile, scoring for diarrhea was performed by referring methods of Akinobu Kurita. Rats were killed on day 10, ileum, cecum, and colon tissues were collected and fixed in 10% formalin solution. HE staining was performed. Intestinal mucosa injuries were graded under light microscope according to the criterion of Chiu's score. The expressions of goblet cells and Paneth cells were observed by PAS stain. Enteroendocrine cells were observed by immunohistochemical CgA staining. Positive cells were counted and cumulative optical density (IOD) analyzed by Image-Pro-Plus 6.0.
RESULTSNo diarrhea occurred in rats of the normal control group at each time point. The incidence rate of diarrhea was 75.0% (6/8) at 48 h, 100.0% (8/8) at 60 h, 100.0% (8/8) at 72 h, 87.5% (7/8) at 84 h, 75.0% (6/8) at 96 h, and 75.0% (6/8) at 108 h in the CPT-11 group. The incidence rate of diarrhea was 25.0% (2/8) at 48 h, 50.0% (4/8) at 60 h, 12.5% (1/8) at 72 h, 0.0% (0/8) at 84 h in the SXD combined CPT-11 group. Compared with the same group at 60 h, scores for diarrhea at 48, 84, 96, and 108 h obviously decreased in the CPT-11 group, and scores for diarrhea at 48, 72, 84, 96, and 108 h obviously decreased in the SXD combined CPT-11 group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Compared with the same group at 72 h, scores for diarrhea at 84, 96, and 108 h obviously decreased in the CPT-11 group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Compared with the normal control group, scores for diarrhea increased in the CPT-11 group at each time point (P < 0.01); grading of ileum, cecum, and colon mucosal tissues increased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01); expressions of ileum and cecum mucosal epithelial goblet cells obviously decreased (P < 0.05); the number and expressions of ileum and cecum mucosal epithelial Paneth cells increased (P < 0.01). Expressions of ilium endocrine cells increased, while those of cecum and colon endocrine cells decreased in the CPT-11 group (P < 0.01). Compared with the CPT-11 group, scores for diarrhea were obviously lowered (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), grading of ileum, and cecum mucosal tissues decreased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01); expressions of ileum, cecum, and colon mucosal epithelial goblet cells obviously increased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01); the number and expressions of ileum cecum mucosal epithelial Paneth cells increased (P < 0.05); expressions of cecum and colon endocrine cells increased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) in the SXD combined CPT-11 group.
CONCLUSIONSXD played roles in preventing and treating CPT-11 induced delayed diarrhea by improving CPT-11 chemotherapy induced apoptosis and necrosis of intestinal mucosal and functional cells.
