OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of vitamin K2 combined with benazepril on human gastric cancer in nude mice. METHODS: SGC-7901 human gastric cancer cells were implanted into BALB/c nude mice to establish the cancer model. Fourteen days after the subcutaneous implantation of cancer cells, 40 nude mice were randomly divided into 4 groups; control group, vitamin K2 therapy group, benazepril therapy group and combination therapy group (vitamin K2 + benazepril). After 14 d, the tumor growth was evaluated, apoptosis indices were examined by TUNEL assay, and VEGF and caspase 3 expression were assessed by immunohisto-chemical staining. RESULTS: Compared to the control group, tumor weights were decreased and apoptosis indexes was significantly increased in the therapy groups (P < 0.05), the protein expression of caspase 3 were up-regulated, and VEGF were decreased in the therapy group (P < 0.05), and all the changes above were more significant in combination therapy group than vitamin K2 or benazepril group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The combination of vitamin K2 and benazepril enhances anti-tumor efficacy possibly through angiogenesis suppression and apoptosis induction. To investigate the effects of Tongxinluo capsule on sciatic nerve apoptosis in spontaneous type II diabetic KK/Upj-Ay mice, in order to explore its mechanism for improving diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). KK/Upj-Ay mice were selected as the DPN animal model and randomly divided into the model, Tongxinluo low, middle and high group (1, 2, 4 g x kg(-1)). C57BL/6 mice were selected as the control group. Mice were given intragastrically for 12 weeks. Paw withdrawal latency, motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV) and sensory nerve conduction velocity (SNCV) were detected. Apoptotic rate were detected by FCM. Bcl-2, Bax, Caspase-3 mRNA and protein expression in sciatic nerve were examined by Real-time PCR and Western blot. p38MAPK, p-p38MAPK expression were examined by Western blot. In this study,the authors found that Tongxinluo capsule could increase paw withdrawal latency, MNCV and SNCV. Apoptotic rate of sciatic, the expression of Bax and caspase-3 were lower, while Bcl-2 expression was higher in Tongxinluo group than those in model mice. The expression of p-p38MAPK significantly decreased in Tongxinluo group. The results showed that Tongxinluo capsule has protective effects on diabetic peripheral neuropathy of mice via inhibiting cell apoptosis and suppressing the expression of p-p38MAPK.

Objective To investigate the value of dialysis and ethics of withdrawal dialysis.Method Through analysis of some typical cases of ESRD patients,to investigate the value of dialysis.Conclusion A lot of ESRD patients can survive through dialysis,thanks to the improvement of medical science in last 30 years.On the other hand,it can also keep some patients with no living calculation surviving,becoming the burdensome of families,hospitals and societies.Our object is to discuss the ethics of withdrawal dialysis in our country.

Objective To investigate the present situation and outcome of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for pediatric in-hospital cardiopulmonary arrest and to analyze the prognostic risk factors.Methods Data were collected from October 2008 till October 2011 using Ustein style.Patients older than 28 days who received CPR were evaluated.Returning of spontaneous circulation(ROSC) more than 24 hours was the primary outcome.Neurological outcome was assessed by pediatric cerebral performance categories half year after discharge.Results Of the 36 patients,15 (41.7％) achieved sustained ROSC.Seven (19.4％) patients survived to discharge.Single factor analysis indicated that the beginning heart rhythm,defibrillation and original disease were significantly different between the two groups(P ＜0.05).The beginning heart rote of the patient in ROSC ＞ 24 h group was mostly sinus bradycardia.Patients who need defibrillation had bad prognosis.Patients with heart disease had a lower rate of ROSC ＞ 24 h.At half year follow-up study,4 patients had 1 or 2 score,1 patient had 4 and 1 had 5 score in the pediatric cerebral performance categories scales.Condusion The successful rate of CPR in our hospital was the same as that in developed country.The beginning heart rhythm,defibrillation and original disease were associated with the outcome.Most of the patients who survived to discharge had a good neurological outcome.

Autophagy is a highly conservative biological behavior in eukaryotic cells .This dynamic process involves wrappingcytoplasmic components and combining with lysosomes in cells for catabolism .Auto-phagy can not only take part in maintaining homeostasis ,but also be closely related with tumor development and resistant.Therefore,autophagy is a potential target for antitumor drug resistant .Specific inhibition of autophagy in cancer cells combined with chemotherapy is expected to be an effective cancer treatment strategy .

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the rationality of the preventive use of antibiotics in Chinese ophthalmologic patients with type Ⅰ incision.METHODS:By means of retrospective study,a total of 1 273 ophthalmologic cases from 113 hospitals of 2006～2007 from National Monitoring Network of Ministry of Health for Clinical Application of Antibiotic with type Ⅰ incision involving preventive administration of antibiotics via different routes were analyzed.RESULTS:The local administration (eye drops and local injection) was rational on the whole,but the systemic administration (intravenous or oral administration) was irrational to some degree in which the drug grade was on the high side,the antibacterial spectrum was inappropriate,and the medication time was delayed.CONCLUSION:Preoperative local administration and rational use of dosage forms should be emphasized in the preventive use of antibiotics for patients undergoing ophthalmologic surgery.

Objective Our study is to observe the effects of conjugated equine estrogen (CEE) combined with medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) on hemorheology in postmenopausal women in order to evaluate mechanism responsible for the increase in the incidence of cardiovascular disease after menopause and also to provide proper instruction and advice of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for postmenopausal women Methods 60 healthy postmenopausal women were assigned to 3 groups randomly, 20 cases in each group Group A: CEE 0 625 mg/d+MPA 2 mg/d+calcium carbonate co. (Ca D) 600 mg/d Group B: CEE 0 3 mg/d+MPA 2 mg/d+Ca D 600 mg/d Group C: Ca D 600 mg/d only served as control Measurements of hemorheological parameters were performed before and 6 months after treatment Results After 6 months of HRT, group A: blood viscosity under the shear rate of 94 5 s -1 dropped from (5 23? 0 37) mPa?s to (5 03? 0 43) mPa?s ( P 0 05) Conclusion Both different dosages of CEE have favor effects on blood viscosity and erythrocyte deformabillity, which could play the role in preventing cardiovascular disease in postmenopausal women
