Objective To explore the expression of tumor necrosis factor(TNF) ligand-related molecule-1A(TL1A) in mice with viral myocarditis(VM) and the role of astragaloside. Methods Fifty-five male Balb/c mice were randomly divided into 4 groups:control group, model group,low-dose intervention group and high-dose intervention group.Mice in model group,low-dose intervention group and high-dose intervention group were inoculated with 0.1 mL coxsackie B3 virus intraperitoneally. Then, mice in low-dose intervention group and high-dose intervention group were treated with 10 g?L-1 and 90 g?L-1 astragaloside solution, respectively.Mice in control group and model group were treated with 0.1 mL carboxymethycellulose solution. All mice were killed on the 15thday.Histological cross sections of heart were stained with hematoxylin-eosin and myocardial histopathologic scores were counted under optical microscope. The expressions of myocardial TL1A mRNA and protein were detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry. Results The mortality were 0,46.7%,40.0% and 13.3% in control group, model group,low-dose intervention group and high-dose intervention group, respectively.Compared with model group and low-dose intervention group, the mortality was significantly lower in high-dose intervention group(?2=9.46,8.95,Pa

OBJECTIVETo master the distribution of male and female soldiers' body composition with bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) method in order to provide data for building up the standards in comparison with those of ordinary residents.
METHODSA cluster stratified sample of 5968 graduated soldiers among different armed services colleges was measured by BIA. Five percent-95% distributions with in the upper and lower limits were established on basis of the above result. The crosswise comparison was also performed.
RESULTS(1) Five percent-95% reference ranges of people in the graduating class of armed services colleges were body fat percentage (BF%): 10.30%-20.70% (male) and 19.20%-30.10% (female), body mass index (BMI): 19.30-25.70 (male) and 18.00-23.99 (female), lean body mass percentage (LBM%): 79.27%-86.69% (male) and 69.89%-80.69% (female), muscle percentage (M%): 74.24%-83.96% (male) and 65.23%-75.27% (female), bone percentage (B%): 5.01% 5.77% (male) and 4.65%-5.51% (female). (2) Soldiers in the graduating class of armed services colleges have less BF%, more B% and M% than those of ordinary residents in the same age and the same sex.
CONCLUSION(1) Soldiers in the graduating class of armed services colleges have better body composition than that of ordinary residents in the same age and the same sex; (2) Standard of body composition for soldiers in the graduating class of armed services colleges should be different from that of ordinary residents, a new standard should be built up.

Acta Physiologica Sinica 2012;64(4):489-494
Intersectin is an evolutionarily conserved multifunctional adaptor protein with multifunctional domains. These domains interact with components of the endocytic and exocytic pathways, such as the clathrin mediating synaptic vesicle recycling, the protein related to endocytosis via caveolae, the with-no-lysine kinases related to the regulation of renal outer medullar potassium, and the Cdc42 mediating exocytic pathway. Recently, the understanding of intersectin function in the pathogenesis of endocrine tumor and many neurodegenerative diseases such as Down syndrome, Alzheimer disease has been deepened. This article reviewed the structure and roles in endocytosis/exocytosis and diseases of intersectin.

Objective To apply the bioinformatics tools for analyzing the differentially expressed genes in oral submucous fibrosis(OSF)to obtain the implied biological significance. Methods By using DAVID and Onto-express bioinformatic tools.865 differentially expressed genes in OSF were analized and the analysis of chromosome location, gene ontology(GO)and genetic-association diseases were performed. Results A majority of the differentially expressed genes were located on chromosome 1,2,5,6,7,11,12(P<0.01).GO classification of the differentially expressed genes identified the biological process subgroups, including genes involved in immune response, defense response and so on.The cellular component subgroups were associated with extracellular matrix, cytoskeleton and membrane, molecular function subgroups related to protein binding, extracellular matrix structural constituent and signal transducer activity. The diseases genetically associated with these genes included infection.immune and cardiovascular diseases. Conclusions Bioinformatics can provide the quick and parallel analysis of massive data got from gene microarrays and enable the function classification of the differentially expressed genes, which provides new ideas on the research of pathogenesis and epidemiology of OSF.

In our previous work, we found that trivalent dimethylarsinous acid (DMA(III)) have high affinity binding to cysteine residue 13 of rat hemoglobin. However, it is still unknown why arsenic intermediate metabolite DMA(III) has high binding affinity for Cysl3 but not for other cysteine residues 93, 140, 111 and 125. In order to better understand the molecular mechanism of DMA(III) with rat hemoglobin, we have done current study. So, SD rats were divided into control and arsenic-treated groups randomly. Arsenic species in lysate of red blood cells were analyzed by HPLC-ICP-MS, and then determined by a hybrid quadrupole TOF MS. In addition, trivalent DMA(III) binds to different cysteine residues in rat hemoglobin alpha and beta chains were also simulated by Molecular Docking. Only Cys13 in alpha chain is able to bind to DMA(III) from the experiment results. Cys13 of alpha chain in rat hemoglobin is a specific binding site for DMA(III), and we found that amino acids compose pockets structure and surround Cys13 (but not other cysteine residues), make DMA(III) much easy to bind cysteine 13. Taken together, the DMA(III) specific binding to Cys13 is related to spatial structure of Cys13.

OBJECTIVETo study lipid-regulating action of 2, 3, 5, 4'-tetrahydroxy stilbene-2-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (TSG) from Polygonum multiflorum on experimental model hyperlipidemic rats.
METHODTSG 90 and 180 mg x kg(-10 x d(-1), atorvastatin mg kg(-1) x d(-1) and saline 2 mL x d(-1) were administered to hyperlipidemic rats. Groups of rats were determined and compared with those of saline group. The LDLR and HMGR mRNA expression were also detected.
RESULTTSG significantly reduced serum TC and LDL-C level and atherosclerosis index, increased the expression of LDLR in the liver cells.
CONCLUSIONTSG, which shows effects and mechanism in part like atorcastatin, is a major constituent with blood-lipid regulating effect of P. multiflorum and can be explored as a potent medication for hyperlipidemia. Effects on LDL-C and AI, as well as on gene expression of TSG were first reported.

OBJECTIVETo explore a new method to correct secondary lip whistle deformities and nasal base depression after bilateral complete cleft lip (BCCL) repair with lip subdermal soft tissue flap.
METHODSBilateral subdermal soft tissue "C" flaps and "lambda" flap were designed to repair secondary deformities of nasal base and reconstruct vermilion tubercle in patients after BCCL repair.
RESULTSGood results were achieved in all the patients with primary healing. No flap necrosis happened. The result was satisfactory.
CONCLUSIONSWith bilateral subdermal soft tissue "C" flaps and " lambda" flap, nasal base depression deformities and lip whistle deformities can be corrected. It is an ideal method for correction of deformities after BCCL repair.
