METHODS:110 patients with recurrent oral ulceration were selected and divided into control group and tri-al group with 55 cases in each group. Control group individually received vitamin C 0.2 g/time+vitamin B2 10 mg/time+levamisole 45 mg/time,three times a day,Cetylpyridinium chloride collutory,15 ml/time,for 1 min,3 times a day. Trial group received Zhibai di-huang pills orally,8 pills/time,Compound danshen tablets,3 tablets/time,3 times a day. A treatment course lasted for 10 days. Both groups received 2 courses of treatment. Therapeutic efficacy,VAS and relapse were observed and compared between 2 groups. RE-SULTS:The cure rate(80.00%)and total effective rate(94.55%)of trial group were higher than those of control group(47.27%, 74.55%),with statistical significance(P<0.05). The VAS score of trial group were significantly lower than that of control group after 3 and 7 days of treatment, with statistical significance(P<0.05). After 2,6,10 and 12 months of treatment, the recurrence rates of tri-al group were 0,7.27%,9.09% and 16.36%,which were all significantly lower than those of control group(18.18%,34.55%, 47.27%,56.36%),with statistical significance(P<0.05). [ ABSTRACT] AIM:To study the effects of soybean isoflavones on mitochondrial ultrastructure, neuronal apopto-sis and expression of cytochrome C, caspase-9 and caspase-3 in the rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.METHODS:Adult healthy SD rats ( n=60 ) were randomly divided into 3 groups: sham group, ischemia/reperfusion injury ( I/R ) group and soybean isoflavone ( SI) pretreatment group.Soybean isoflavones (120 mg· kg-1 · d-1 ) were fed by gastric lav-age for 21 d.The global ischemia/reperfusion model of the rats was established by blocking 3 vessels, and then reperfused for 1 h after 1 h of ischemia. The morphological change of the cerebral cortex cells was observed under light microscope. The mitochondrial ultrastructure of the cerebral cortex cells was determined by transmission electron microscope. The apop-totic rate of the cerebral cortex cells was detected by flow cytometry. The expression of cytochrome C, caspase-9 and caspase-3 in the cerebral cortex cells was determined by semi-quantitative RT-PCR and immunohistochemical techniques. RESULTS:Disintegration of mitochondria membrane and disappearance of the mitochondrial cristae were seen in I/R group.Compared with I/R group, the change of ultrastructure of mitochondria was significantly improved by soybean isofla-vone pretreatment, and the neuronal apoptotic rate was also significantly decreased (P<0.01).The mRNA expression and protein content of cytochrome C, caspase-9 and caspase-3 in I/R group were obviously higher than those in sham group ( P<0.01).Compared with I/R group, the mRNA expression and protein content of cytochrome C, caspase-9 and caspase-3 in SI group were significantly decreased (P<0.01).CONCLUSION: Soybean isoflavones attenuate cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury by stabilizing the structure of mitochondria, preventing cytochrome C release to the cytoplasm, inhibiting the activation of caspase-9 and caspase-3 and decreasing cell apoptosis.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic capabilities of T2 WI features in peripheral zone prostate cancer. Methods The characteristics of T2 WI in 56 cases of peripheral zone prostate cancer,75 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia and 7 cases of prostatitis confirmed by pathology were analyzed retrospectively.Eight indexes were initially screened byχ2 test, then indexes with significant difference were entered into multivariate Logistic regression analysis. Results The indexes showing statistical differences between prostate cancer and benign prostatic disorders were as following:lesion shape, signal intensity, signal uniformity, boundary of peripheral zone and transition zone, the volume of peripheral zone and prostatic capsule on T2 WI (P<0.05).Margin of lesion and capsule between two groups were not statistical differences (P>0.05).By multivariate Logistic analysis, the statistically significant difference were found in lesion shape, the volume of peripheral zone, prostatic capsule and boundary of peripheral zone and transition zone. Conclusion The lesion shape, volume of peripheral zone and prostatic capsule on T2 WI are independent risk factors for peripheral zone prostate cancer.

Objective To explore the in vivo/in vitro MR imaging effect of Angiopep2 modified glioma targeted block copolymer micelles(ANPs/CPT). Methods Angiopep2 modified DOTA-Gd conjugated polymeric micelles based on beta-cyclodextrin(β-CD) were successfully synthesized.Water proton longitudinal relaxation rate (1/T1) were calculated to compare the r1of DOTA-Gd and ANPs/CPT. Different concentration of DOTA-Gd, NP/CPT, ANP/CPT were co-cultured with C6 cells, the intracellular content of Gd3+was analyzed by ICP-AES;The signal intensity(SI) and contrast to noise ratio(CNR) were measured by 1.5 T MR;The CNR of ANPs/CPT was evaluated on different organs of normal rats. The enhancement feature of ANP/CPT in glioma as well as T/N and CNR between tumor and normal brain tissue were also investigated.Several comparisons were made between the 3 groups by one-way ANOVA,and the difference were significant when P<0.05.Results The r1of ANPs/CPT(13.900 s-1·mmol/L-1)was 3 times as much as DOTA-Gd(4.927 s-1·mmol/L-1).C6 cells uptake different concentrations of Gd3 +had significant difference among groups(F=362.502,1636.136,386.880,918.173, P<0.001).The difference of SI and CNR among groups were significant(F=55.240,155.419,P<0.001).The CNR of the brain tissue had significant difference with other organs at all times after tail vein injection of ANPs/CPT(F=9.417,21.808, 21.383,107.318,178.762,P<0.01).The ANPs/CPT showed excellent brain-targeting efficiency and theT/N ratio(30 min after),CNR in different time point had significant difference among groups (F=5.349,6.594,24.078,18.508 and 6.840,6.780,5.895,12.620,37.139,368.893, P<0.05).Conclusions ANPs/CPT shows nice agnetic relaxation performance, extended blood circulation duration, excellent brain-targeting efficieney, which will render the theranosticnano-carriers with important reference for the construction of new generation multifunctional nanomedicine.
