Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2009;41(6):640-644
Objective: To develop novel targeted anticancer medicines for effective treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma ( NPC) , a prevalent malignant disease in southern China and southeast Asia. Methods: CNE cells were treated with a novel indolinone IF239 synthesized by our research group. Cell viability was determined by the acid phosphatase assay ( APA). Morphologic changes and adhesion status of CNE cells treated with IF239 were observed under a light microscope. Flow cytometry was used to analyze the cell cycle phases . Key regulating molecules in the cell cycle progression were detected by Western blotting. Results: IF239 had potent cytotoxic effect on CNE cells. The possible antitumor mechanisms of IF239 involved inhibition of cell adhesion and cell cycle arrest in the G2_/M phase. Moreover,G2_/M arrest caused by IF239 was related to up-regulation of both cyclin B1 and the phosphorylation level of CDK1. Conclusion: IF239 has high anticancer activity over CNE cells, and has unique anticancer mechanisms, suggesting that IF239 has promising application potentials.

Objective To study the expression of NF-κB p50 in nodal peripheral T-cell lymphomasunspecified (PTCL-U),and investigated the relationship between NF-κB and PTCL-U's complex biological behavior. Methods 51 patients with nodal PTCL-U were analysed by detecting the expression of NF-κB p50, p170 by immunohistochemistry and correlation between them and PTCL-U' s clinical feature, treatment effectiveness and prognosis were also studied. Results 11 patients(21.6 %, 11/51) and 31patients (60.8 %,31/51) were respectively positive for N F-κB p50 and p 170 expression. Expression of NF-κB were significantly correlated with p170 expression, poor performance status (PS>2) and non-complete remission in first line treatment(Spearman correlation= 0.459, 0.313, 0.284; P = 0.001, 0.025, 0.044). Overall survival rate of NFκB p50-positive PTCL-U was significantly lower than that of NF-κB p50-negative patients by Log-Rank test (P =0.0451). Multivariate analysis showed poor performance and higher Ki-67 were independent prognostic factor for PTCL-U, while NF-κB p50 was not. Conclusion The expression of NF-κB pS0 was correlated with muhidrug resistance and poor prognosis in nodal PTCL-U.

Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2009;18(10):603-605
Objective To evaluate the international prognostic index (IPI) in peripheral T-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS). Methods From May 2005 to May 2008, 75 patients of PTCL--NOS were reviewed. All the patients were diagnosed again by immunohistochemical staining. According to IPI, they were divided into four groups:low risk (0-1), intermediate-low(2), intermediate-high(3), high risk (4-5), then the difference of treatment effectiveness and prognosis among them were analysed. Results IPI scoring of 75 patients were classified as low risk , 10 (13.3%); as intermediate-low, 14 (18.7%); as intermediate-high, 28 (37.3 %); as high risk, 23 (30.7%). There was a significant difference in complete remission rates with first line treatment(X2=16.677,P=0.001), and overall survival rates (P=0.0000) among four groups. Median survival time among 4 groups were 36+, 29.00, 17.00, 10.00 months. 1-year OS were 100.00 %, 89.05 %, 64.24 %, 15.73 %; 2-year OS were: 75.00 %, 53.01%, 34.42 %, 2.00 % respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that both complete remission rates of first line treatment(P=0.002) and IPI(P = 0.049) were independent prognostic factor for PTCL-NOS, while single index of IPI was not. Conclusion At a certain extent, IPI model was able to predict response of treatment effective and prognosis in PTCL-NOS.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2019;40(1):116-118
Objective:
To understand rural school toilet sanitation conditions in Chongqing during the year of 2015 to 2017.
Methods:
One primary school and one secondary school from each village were selected from five villages of each district. A total of 265 rural schools from 10 districts of Chongqing including 144 primary and 121 secondary schools were selected. Data was collected through access to information, field observations and onsite interview.
Results:
The sanitation coverage rate was 78.45%, 92.99%, 100% from 2015 to 2017, respectively. The coverage rate in teaching building was the lowest(43.02%, 51.65% and 57.95% from 2015 to 2017, respectively). Male toilets in secondary schools showed high quality(92.38%, 92.86%, 100.00% for the year of 2015, 2016 and 2017, respectively). However, the quality of female toilets in middle schools was poor(33.33%, 53.06% and 68.00% for the year of 2015, 2016 and 2017, respectively). Daily sanitation management enhanced by year(29.07%, 40.66% and 69.32% during 2015 to 2017). Soap provision in school toilets decreased with year (53.49%, 40.66% and 1.14% for the year of 2015 to 2017, respectively).
Conclusion
In the past three years, sanitation condition of rural school toilets in Chongqing has significantly improved. However, toilets in the teaching buildings and dormitories are relatively insufficient. More femalefriendly toilet seats and daily sanitation management require further investment.

To investigate the cytotoxicity of the homemade peptide cationic liposome CDO14 and its efficacy of RNA interference (RNAi). MTT method was used to determine the cytotoxicity of the liposome to a human lung cancer cell line Luc-A549 that can express luciferase stably. Luciferase siRNA (Luc-siRNA) was transfected into Luc-A549 cells by CDO14. Contents of luciferase in the transfected cells were detected by luminous instrument and contents of total protein in these cells were detected by BCA method. Nude mice were inoculated with Luc-A549 cells in axilla to establish xenograft tumor model. Complexes of Luc-siRNA and the cationic liposomes were injected into the modeling mice via tail vein. Contents of luciferase in the transfected mice were detected by the whole body imaging system. The cytotoxicity of the homemade cationic liposome was similar to that of commercial liposome DOTAP, and lower than that of Lipo2000. The siRNA transfection efficacy mediated by CDO14 was higher than that mediated by DOTAP. The homemade peptide cationic liposome CDO14 is expected to serve as delivery vector in gene therapy because of its low cytotoxicity and high transfection efficiency.
