Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a high-purity nanometer cellulose secreted by some bacteria. Compared with plant cellulose, it possesses an array of unique properties, including high crystallinity, high water content, good bio-compatibility, high mechanical strength and an ultra-fine fiber network. BC is prosperous as a new type of biomedical material, which has medical applications such as wound dressing, artificial skin, artificial blood vessels and tissue engineering scaffolds. There are, however, some problems to be solved on the large-scale application of BC, such as the high cost, low yield, and poor mechanical stability and so on.

2.The characters of non-professional drivers' stress

Objective To explore the characters of non-professional drivers' stress. Methods Two hundred and sixty-four non-professional drivers in Chengdu city were randomly investigated by Driver Stress Inventory(DSI). One hundred and five professional drivers were as control group. Results ①Compared with professional drivers,non-professional drivers scored higher in thrill seeking, cognitive fatigue and aggression (non-professional drivers :4.63±1.49,5.12±1.56,5.65±1.42; professional drivers: 3.60 ± 2.04,3.97 ± 2.02,4.56 ±1.84, P < 0.01 ) ,and lower in hazard monitoring, driving anxiety and physiological fatigue (non-professional drivers:7.04±1.48,6.44±1.50,5.78±1.75; professional drivers:7.89 ± 1.45,6.99 ± 1.28,6.45 ± 2.37, P <0.01 ). ②Non-professional drivers' stress had significant differences in gender, age, marital state and driving experiences (P<0.05). The male drivers scored higher in thrill seeking, aggression and physiological fatigue (male:4.79±1.53,6.78±1.46,5.94 ± 1.80; female:4.32±1.37,5.80±1.37,5.50 ± 1.61, P < 0.05 ). Compared with other age driver groups, the 20 ~29 driver group scored higher in cognitive fatigue (5.44 ± 1.38 ), and lower in hazard monitoring(6.77±1.44) ,driving anxiety (6.03 ±1.46). Compared with unmarried drivers, married non-professional drivers scored higher in hazard monitoring and driving anxiety ,and lower in cognitive fatigue( married drivers:7.23±1.43,6.65±1.48,4.88±1.6; unmarried drivers :6.77±1.47,6.06±1.43,5.59±1.36, P <0.05 ). The non-professional drivers who drove more than 20 thousand kilometers scored higher in driving anxiety (6.89±1.41). Conclusion The non-professional drivers' stress isn' t optimistic, and influenced by their gender,age, marital state and driving experiences. Stress management should pay attention to them.
3.Relationships of driving coping styles with driving behaviors and road accidents of drivers

ObjectiveTo explore the relationships of driving coping styles with driving behaviors and road accidents of drivers.MethodsThree hundreds and thirty-seven drivers were randomly surveyed by Driving Coping Questionnaire ( DCQ),Driver Behavior Questionnaire (DBQ).Results ( 1 ) Except avoidance coping style,confrontive coping and emotion-focused coping were correlated positively with the three driving behaviors ( r =0.18 ~ 0.56,P < 0.01 ),and positive appraisal coping had negatively correlations with them (( r =-0.34 ~-0.41,P<0.01 ).(2)Positive appraisal coping,confrontive coping and emotion-focused coping could predict 33.5% of error behaviors and 23.5% of slip behaviors.And confrontive coping and positive appraisal coping could predict 40.2% of speeding and violation behaviors.(3) Compared with safety drivers,accident drivers had significantly differences in confrontive coping in mild and moderate crashes( t=-2.75,2.80,P< 0.01 ).ConclusionDriving coping styles are the important factors influencing drivers' behaviors and road safety.
4.Changes of oxygenation index of severe acute respiratory syndrome treated with glucocorticosteroids

Objective To investigate the effect of glucocorticosteroids on pulmonary oxygenation function in severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)patients.Methods Two hundred and twenty-five SARS patients in 2003 were analyzed retrospectively.Oxygenation index(OI)was considered as the marker of glucocorticosteroids therapeutic effects.The criteria of effectiveness was that OI increased 20%or more than pre-treatment.The therapeutic effects of glueocorticosteroids were analyzed by analysis of variance and chi-square test.Results Glucocorticosteroids were used in 59.6%(134/225)of SARS cases.The average OI before and after glucocorticosteroids intravenous treatment was 237.08 mm Hg and 335.08 mm Hg,respectively.The average OI increased 110.26 mm Hg(46.4%)after treatment.In 96 SARS patients whose blood gas analysis results were available,85 cases(88.5%)had administrative indication.The average OI increased 103.14 mm Hg(44.4%),which was lower than 190.91 mm Hg(66.8 0A)in patients without administrative indication.There was no significant difference between these two groups of patients.The OI difference before and after glueocorticosteroids treatment was decreased with the increasing OI before treatment,the increase was minimum in patients with OI≥300 mm Hg.Conclusions The SARS patients could obtain pulmonary symptoms and function improvements with appropriate glucoconicosteroids treatment,especially for those who are in accord with acute lung injure or acute respiratory distress syndrome,and OI less than 300 mm Hg before treatment.
6.Influencing factors for rural doctors' training effect in Shandong province based on pre-intervention theory

Objective To identify the influencing factors for rural doctors′ training effect,and suggest on the improvement of such training.Methods On the basis of rural doctors′ survey,the theory of pre-intervention was used to probe into the influencing factors for such training in five dimensions of attention notice,mega-cognitive strategies,advance organizer,goal orientation,and preparatory information.Results 73.2% of the groups were found with satisfying effect.In the single factor analysis,comparison of training effect involving such factors as age,gender,length of work life and pre-intervention revealed statistical significance(P<0.05).As shown in the logistic regression analysis,High motivation in meta-cognitive strategies,Clear goals in goal orientation,Tiered and categorized training in advance organizers,and Practical learning in preparatory information,as well as variants like age would influence rural doctors′ training effect significantly.Conclusions The key to better training effect lies in better motivation of the trainee,setting correct training goals,emphasis on the practicability of training contents and,the pertinence of the training objects.
7.Changes of liver function in patients with serious acute respiratory syndrome.

OBJECTIVESTo investigate the changes of liver function during the course of serious acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and to explore its possible influence factors.
METHODSThere were 91 patients with common SARS, and 23 patients with severe SARS, and 61 common pneumonia patients served as the controls. The liver functions of all the patients were measured.
RESULTSThe rate of anomaly liver function in the common SARS patients group was 68.1%, which was higher than that in the common pneumonia patients group (24.6%), chi2=27.7, P<0.01. The changes mainly existed in the mild to moderate elevation of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase. The severe SARS patients were older and the changing rate of liver function was as high as 95.7%.
CONCLUSIONSThe damage possibility of liver function in SARS patients is higher than that in common pneumonia patients. The damage is light and related to SARS itself. The damage of liver function in the severe SARS patients may have close relationship with age.

8.The clinical and pathological features of Alport syndrome in children

Objective To analyze the clinical and pathological characteristics of Alport syndrome in children. Methods Clinical and pathological information gathered from 62 patients during March 1989 to August 2012 was retrospectively analyzed. Results Four autosomal recessive Alport syndromes (AR-AS) and 58 X-linked Alport syndromes (XL-AS) were analyzed. Of the XL-AS, 47 were boys and 11 were girls. Most of patients induced by upper respiratory tract infections, and onset with hematuria and proteinuria. There was no signiifcant gender difference in family history, impaired renal tubular proteins, hypertension, im-paired renal function, hearing loss, ocular abnormalities or renal pathological changes under light microscopy. However, extensive lamination and split of glomerular basement membrane (GBM) dense layers were found in 83.0%male and 18.2%female patients (P=0.000) and the rest patients were presented with limited distribution of typical GBM changes. Proteinuria progressed signiif-cantly with age in XL-AS males (r=0.501, P=0.000). Five XL-AS patients developed to end stage renal disease (ESRD) between 11 to 16 years old. Conclusions XL-AS is the main inherited type and severe changes of GBM are common in XL-AS males. Proteinuria increases remarkably with age. The detection of type IV collagen in renal tissue or skin is helpful to diagnose Alport syndrome and conifrm inheritance modes.
9.Contrast study on cognitive function with MRI and positron emission tomography imaging in transient global amnesia.

OBJECTIVETo study cognitive function and cerebral metabolic changes in patients with transient global amnesia (TGA).
METHODSThree patients with TGA were given mini-mental state examination (MMSE), revised Wechsler memory scale (WMS-R) examination and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans after they had been diagnosed as TGA. Using (18)F labelled deoxyglucose as tracer, patients were given a positron emission tomography (PET) examination at different periods during recovery.
RESULTSNo obvious abnormality was found in MMSE and MRI scans in the three patients. However, WMS-R examination and cerebral PET imaging displayed cognitive dysfunction of varying degrees and low metabolism in local areas related to memory in 2 of 3 patients.
CONCLUSIONSIn TGA patients, cognitive function and cerebral metabolic levels are closely correlated with duration of symptoms. It is necessary to stop the TGA attack as quickly as possible early time.

10.Role of p53 Protein in Improving Nerve Function of Rats with Acute Cerebral Ischemia-reperfusion Injury by Electroacupuncture Pretreatment

Objective To investigate the effect of p53 protein on the nerve function of rats with acute cerebral ischemia-reperfusion by electro-acupuncture pretreatment. Methods A total of 72 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham group(n=24),model group(n=24) and electroacupuncture pretreatment group(n=24).Each group was equally divided into two hours and 72 hours subgroups. The neurological behavior was assessed with modified Neurological Severity Score (mNSS). HE staining and TUNEL assay were used to observe the injury and cell apoptosis in ischemic brain,and Western blot-ting was used to detect the expression of p-p53(ser392),p53 and microtubule associated protein 1 light chain 3 (LC3)II in ischemic area. Results Compared with the model group,the mNSS scores,the injury of brain tissue,the number of TUNEL-positive cells, and the level of p-p53 and LC3II decreased (P<0.05) in the electroacupuncture pretreatment group.Two hours after reperfusion,there was no significant difference in the level of p53 between the model group and the electroacupuncture pretreatment group(P>0.05),however,72 hours after reperfusion,the level of p53 decreased in the electroacupuncture pretreatment group(P<0.05). Conclusion Electroacupuncture pretreatment can improve neurological deficit in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury rats,which may be related to the involvement of p53 protein in autophagy and apoptosis.
