Objective To study the efficacy and indications of percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (PRFA) for small primary liver cancer(SPLC). Methods The clinical data of 16 patients with SPLC treated by PRFA were analysed retrospectively. Results The diameter of tumor in all 16 patients were ≤3cm. After PEFA, AFP from postive returned to negative in 93.3% of patients; and BUS and CT showed the tumors shrinking with capsule formation. The 0.5,1,2-year survival rate were 93.8%,100%,100% respectively. Conclusions PRFA for SPLC has advantages such as minitrauma, safe and effective, especiolly suitable to the patients with contrainsications of operation, or the tumor locating to the deep position of liver, or around inferior vena cava, hepatic veins or hepatic porta etc.

Based on the characteristics of salt.alkalinized soil in northeastem China,twenty-five kinds of salt alkaline conditions with different salinities and pH were simulated by mixing NaCl,NaHCO3,Na2SO4,and Na2CO3,in various proportions and applied to sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) seedlings to investigate the coordinative effects of salt and alkali stresses on its antioxidant enzyme system. The soil was conditioned with a salt concentration range between 50 to 250 mmol/L and pH values from 7.12 to 10.46.Several physiological indexes of stressed seedlings were measured, including the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD),catalase (CAT),and pemxidase (POD),as well as the content of malondialdehyde (MDA).The results showed that the responses of the antioxidant enzyme system in sunflowers were influenced by salinity and alkalinity, which all three antioxidant enzymes exhibited a rise-drop pattern as salinity increased, whereas their responses to alkalinity appeared to be diverse:decreased for SOD and CAT,and increase for POD along when increasing alkalinity.A two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the effects of salinity and alkalinity on the activities of the three enzymes were significant (P<0.001).The effect of salinity on POD and SOD was greater than that of alkalinity, whereas the effect of alkalinity on CAT was greater than that of salinity. The interrelation of salinity and alkalinity on each antioxidant enzyme was significant (P<0.001) except for SOD.The correlation and stepwise regression analyses between the activity of the antioxidant enzyme system and the MDA content were significant to difierent extend,SOD was a dominant factor, and POD was neglectable.

Objective To observe myocardial tolerance to ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats after exposure to X-ray irradiation. Methods Twelve male rats were randomly divided into control group and radiation group. The rat model of radiation-induced heart disease was established in the radiation group by precordial irradiation with 20.0 Gy of 6 MV X-ray in a single fraction. At 14 days after model establishment, the Langendorff perfusion technique was performed in the two groups and the cardiac parameters including left ventricular developing pressure (LVDP),left ventricular end diastolic pressure (LVEDP),maximal rate of left ventricular pressure rise/fall (+/-LVdp/dtmax),and coronary flow (CF)were recorded.Myocardial infarct size after I/R was compared between the two groups by 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride staining. Results After 30 minutes of ischemia and 60 minutes of reperfusion, the irradiation group had a significantly slower CF than the control group (5.64±0.35 vs.8.38±0.52 ml/min,P=0.002).Moreover,the irradiation group had substantially poorer recovery of cardiac function in isolated hearts compared with the control group,as shown by a significantly reduced LVDP (25.4±2.31 vs.52.76±2.76 mm Hg(1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa),P=0.000),significantly reduced+/-LVdp/dtmax(547.04±78.74 vs.1 100.05±83.35 mm Hg(1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa)/s,P=0.001;-408.81±56.74 vs-813.62±73.82mm Hg(1 mm Hg =0.133 kPa)/s,P=0.002),and a significantly increased LVEDP (85.29±4.61 vs.65.65±3.65 mm Hg (1 mm Hg =0.133 kPa),P=0.012).X-ray irradiation induced a significantly increased percentage of myocardial infarct size in rats (44.67%±0.95% vs.30.46%±0.96%,P=0.000).Conclusions X-ray irradiation can induce coronary injury, reduce myocardial tolerance to I/R injury, and increase myocardial infarct size after I/R in rats.

OBJECTIVETo analysis deacclimatization symptom scores of 159 youth from Karakoram and Tibet Ali area, and provide the basis for the development of relevant prevention and control measures.
METHODSUsing the method of epidemiological symptoms questionnaire, 18 symptoms of 190 youth who returned to the plain area from the different plateau were investigated. The symptom scores of different altitude, age, the time of staying, different units, continuous or intermittent stage and education were surveyed.
RESULTSDeacclimatization symptom scores among 5,000 meter groups were significantly higher than those of 4,300 meter and 3,700 meter group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). There was no significant difference between the 4,300 meter group and the 3,700 meter group (P > 0.05). There were significant differences among the stayed personnel (different age, position, unit, education, time, continuous or intermittent) (P < 0.01). There was significant difference between the continuous defended the group and intermittent group (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONDeacclimatization symptom scores were related to the plateau exposure time, altitude, workload, plateau continued exposure. The older, the longer exposure, the higher altitude, the greater workload at plateau were showed higher deacclimatization symptom score.
