There is a long history of Toad venom in the treatment of cancer in China.Bufalin, extracted from Toad venom,is one of the biologically active compounds of anticancer. We elaborate the molecular mechanism of bufalin on anticancer activity from several aspects such as inducing cell apoptosis and differentiation, inhibitting cell proliferation and angiogenesis, enhancing the sensitivity of chemotherapeutics, which can provide the basis for in-depth study of Toad venom and its development and clinical medication.

Fudan University Journal of Medical Sciences 2009;36(4):403-406
Objective To explore the content and gene expression of endothelial nitric-oxide synthase (eNOS) in heart of hyperlipidemia apoE-/- mice. Methods apoE-/- mice were fed with high fat diet as high-fat diet group (n= 7) and normal fat diet as control group (n = 6) for 12 weeks. Serum lipid profiles including total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) were detected, eNOS mRNA expression in heart were determined by Real-Time RT-PCR, as well as protein expression by immunohistochemistry. Results Levels of serum TC, TG and LDL clearly increased in high fat diet group, while HDL decreased (P< 0. 01). mRNA and protein expression of eNOS in heart reduced in high fat diet group(P<0.01). Conclusions High fat diet may lead to hyperlipidemia in apoE-/- mice, which may down-regulate eNOS expression and decrease eNOS content in heart.

Journal of Clinical Neurology 1992;0(01):-
Objective To observe the changes of nitric oxide(NO), nitric oxide synthase(NOS),and endothelin(ET) contents in plasma after acute cerebral infarction(ACI), And to evaluate the therapeutic effect of nimodipine on their changes. Methods 110 cases with ACI were randomly divided into Nimodipine therapeutic group(Nimodipine is used with general therapy,Nimodipine group) and general therapeutic group(general group). NO, NOS and ET contents in plasma at different time after ACI were observed, while control group was set up.Results ET content in plasma after ACI increased significantly until recovery. NO and NOS contents in plasma rise at the beginning, then they declined. ET contents had significant difference between Nimodipine group and general group( P 0.05).Conclusion NO, NOS and ET interfered with the complex process of pathologic after acute cerebral infarction. Nimodipine had therapeutic action on ACI partly depended on affecting content of ET in plasma.

Journal of Clinical Neurology 1993;0(03):-
Objective To evaluate the reliability of transcranial doppler (TCD) in detection spasm of middle cerebral artery (MCA),vertebral artery (VA ) and basilar artery (BA).Methods TCD and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) examination were undertaken in 50 patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage. Results Arterial spasm was diagnosed in 26 MCA by DSA,21 of which were detected by TCD at same time.4 MCA were showed by TCD but not confirmed by DSA. The sensitivity and specificity of TCD in diagnosing MCA spasm were 80.8% and 84.0% respectively. Higher sensitivity was revealed in those with severe MCA spasm. DSA also found out asterial spasm of BA in 18 BA,among which 13 arteries were detected by TCD simutaneously.4 BA were diagnosed by TCD but not proved by DSA. The sensitivity and the specificity of TCD in diagnosing BA spasm were 72.2% and 76.5% respectively.28 VA were diagnosed by DSA,among which 20 arteries were proved by TCD.6 VA were detected by TCD but not proved by DSA. The sensitivity and specificity of TCD in diagnosing VA spasm were 71.4% and 76.9% respectively. Conclusion TCD is reliable in diagnosing the spasm of MCA,BA and VA.

Objective To analyze the reasons of the occlusal disorder after mistaken concrescence of maxillofacial fracture, to observe the effect of the physiotherapy for the masticatory movement and the masticatory efficiency after occlusal reconstruction with fixed prosthesis. Methods The reasons of occlusal disorder of 45 patients were analyzed by reviewing the case history and clinical examination. Ultrasound diathermy and laser irradiation were used to help improve masticatory movement. The fixed prosthesis was used to reconstruct the occlusal relationship. Masticatory efficiency was measured with the method of sift out before treatment, one month and one year after treatment. Results The main reason of occlusal disorder was the delay of treatment because of the other treatment of body after trauma. The physiotherapy was effective in improving the masticatory movement. Statistically analysis showed the significantly difference before and after occlusal reconstruction with fixed prosthesis ( P

Objective:To investigate the expression of anti-endothelial cell antibodies(AECA) in patients serum with anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody( ANCA) negative pauci-immune deposition type crescentic glomerulonephritis and its relationship with clinical signatures. Methods:We selected 94 pauci-immune deposition type crescentic glomerulonephritis patients from 2010 to 2015 treated in our hospital,45 of which with ANCA-negative( observation group) and 49 cases of ANCA-positive patients ( control group) , AECA levels of each groups serum were detected by Western blot test. Results: The average age of the observation group and Bermingham vasculitis activity score(BVAS) respectively (41. 08 +9. 43) years old and (15. 03 +3. 82),significantly lower than the control group (P<0. 05);the observation group had fever, joint pain accounted for 26. 67% and 13. 33%,significantly lower than the control group ( P<0. 05 );the observation group of nephrotic syndrome accounted for 48. 89%, higher than the control group ( P<0. 05);observation group positive rate of serum AECA was 46. 67%,significantly lower than the control group 81. 63% (P<0. 05);the observation group IgG-AECA identified 7 proteins, while the control group had identified 11 proteins,of which the observation group the positive rate of anti 90 kD antibody was 13. 33%( 6/45 ) , significantly lower than the control group 51. 02%( 25/49 ) ( P<0. 05 );observation group of anti 76 kD antibody positive patients had rash ratio of 100%, significantly higher than negative patients ( P<0. 05),anti 200 kD antibody positive the BVAS score of the patients was (18. 02 + 2. 51),which was significantly higher than that of the negative patients ( P < 0. 05 ) . Conclusion: The different level of AECA in ANCA negative pauci-immune crescentic glomerulonephritis patients may be associated with certain clinical manifestations;clinical manifestations differences between the ANCA negative and positive patients may be associated with different expression of the AECA related, the detail need a further study.

Objective To investigate the possible mechanism of Compounded Sour Medicinal Herbs (CSMH) in preventing and amelioration type 2 diabetic mellitus (T2DM) rats chronic complication, by analyzing the effects of CSMH on the deposition of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and gene expression of their receptor myocardial tissue in T2DM rats. Methods The rats were injected with streptozotocin (STZ) through peritoneum, and fed with high-fat and high-caloric diets to induce T2DM animal models. Then the rats were randomly divided into three groups:untreated group (model group), AG treated group and CSMH treated group. The deposition of AGEs and gene expression of RAGE in the myocardial tissue of T2DM rats were detected separately by fluorescence and real time PCR method. Results The deposition of AGEs and gene expression of their receptor in myocardial tissue in control group were lower than that of T2DM rats (P
