2.Evaluation of regional myocardial mechanical dysfunction of left ventricle in female patients with ECG T-wave inversion using velocity vector imaging

Objective To evaluate regional myocardial mechanical dysfunction of left ventricle in patients with ECG T-wave inversion using echocardiographic velocity vector imaging.Methods One hundred nineteen female patients with T wave inversion divided into three groups:V1-6 T-wave inversion group(52 patients),V1-4 Twave inversion group (33 patients),V3-6 T-wave inversion group (34patients),while selected 44 healthy women in control group.Peak systolic radial strain (SRSmax) and strain rate (SRSrmax),peak systolic circumferential strain (SCSrmax) and strain rate (SCSmax) were derived and compared from three short-axis views of left ventricle at 18 wall segments using a dedicated Syngo VVI software and workstation,and the depth of T-wave inversion in different precordial lead was measured and correlated with mechanics parameters between four groups.Results In V1-6 T-wave inversion group,each mechanical variable of anteroseptal,anterior,anterolateral and inferolateral walls decreased (P <0.05-0.01).In V1-4 T-wave inversion group each mechanical variable of anteroseptal,anterior and inferoseptal walls declined (P <0.05-0.01).In V3-6 T-wave inversion group four mechanical variables(i.e.,SRSmax SRSr SCSmax and SCSrmax) of anteroseptal,anterior,anterolateral and inferolateral walls reduced,mainly at basal segment (P <0.05-0.01).The ventricular segments of reduced SRSmax,SRSrmax and SCSrmax in V1-6 T-wave inversion group and of SRSrmax in V3-6 T-wave inversion group were more than those in V1-4 T-wave inversion group (P <0.05-0.01).In V1-6 T-wave inversion group,negative correlationships between radial mechanical variables of anteroseptal wall and the depths of V4 and V5 lead T-wave inversion were found (r =-0.29--0.37,P <0.05-0.01).Otherwise a positive correlationships between SCSmax of anterolateral wall and the depth of V3 lead T-wave inversion were established (rs =0.44,P =0.01) in V1-4 T-wave inversion group.Conclusions There is a regional myocardial dysfunction of LV in female patients with ECG T-wave inversion.The extent of electrical repolarization abnormality is correlated to the severity of regional myocardial dysfunction.
6.Determination of expression of tyrosine protein kinase in hepatocellular carcinoma by tissue chip

Objective To study the expression of tyrosine protein kinase in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and observe the correlation between tyrosine protein kinase and clinical features.Methods A total of 30 cases with HCC were enrolled in this study.ERK,P38,C-jun,JAK2,STAT3 and STAT5 were detected by immunohistochemical method using tissue chip technology.Results The expression of ERK(0.220±0.033),P38(0.174±0.024),C-jun(0.183±0.064),JAK2(0.192±0.044),STAT3(0.197±0.078)and sTAT5(0.181±0.066)in HCC was significantly higher than that(0.065±0.028,0.058±0.028,0.042±0.016,0.070±0.030,0.052±0.024,0.052±0.023)in cirrhosis 1iver tissues(P<0.01).There was significantly positive correlation of the expression between ERK,C-jun,JAK2,STAT3 and STAT5(P<0.01 or P<0.05).But the expression of P38 was negatively correlated with ERK in the HCC tissues(r=-0.404,P<0.05).JAK2 had significant correlation with tumor differentiation.The expression of J AKz in stage Ⅲ was significantly higher than that in stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ cancer tissues.Conclusion There is important significance of the excessive activation of MAPK and JAK-STAT signaI transduction in hepatocellular carcinoma process.The unbalance of signal transduction might be one of the pathogenesis of tumor progress.
7.X-ray evaluation of alpha-calcium sulfate hemiydrate/biphasic bioceramics bone for repairing bone defects of rabbit radius

BACKGROUND:Alpha-calcium sulfate hemiydrate/biphasic bioceramics (α-CSH/BCP) as a bone repair material has been widely used in the clinic, but there are stil some deficiencies. OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of α-CSH/BCP on the repair of bone defects of the radius in rabbits. METHODS:The unilateral radius of 18 adult New Zealand white rabbits was selected to establish bone defect models, and then these rabbit models were randomized into three groups that were treated with α-CSH,α-CSH/BCP, BCP materials, respectively. At 4, 8, 12 weeks after implantation, bone samples were taken for gross and X-ray observations. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Gross observation: At 12 weeks of implantation, the bone defect was completely repaired in the α-CSH/BCP group, and the defected radius recovered basicaly; in the α-CSH group, bone defects were visible; and in the BCP group, there was stil some material for filing and coverage. (2) X-ray observation: In the α-CSH group, the degradation of implanted materials was faster than new bone formation, and bone defects were visible; in the α-CSH/BCP group, bone defects were healed, cortical bone remodeling was good, and the bone marrow cavity was re-canalized; in the BCP group, the implanted materials were stil visible, and bone defects were not repaired. These findings indicate that the α-CSH/BCP bone repair material can significantly promote the repair of bone defects of rabbit radius, with a better repair effect than α-CSH or BCP alone.

AIM and METHODS: To study the changes of serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) levels in a rat model of acute myocardial infarction (MI) and its significance. Eighty-eight male Sprague-Dawley rats were used in this study. MI was produced by left coronary arterial ligation in 80 animals, and eight rats undergoing thoracotomy but not coronary ligation served as controls (sham).Blood samples were drawn from the right atrium before (sham animals) and 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 hours and 2, 3, 5, 7, 14 days after MI( n =8,respectively). Serum VEGF concentrations were measured by a sensitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay with a rabbit polyclonal antibody specific for VEGF. Background The visual evoked potential (VEP) is an important functional index to assess visual cortex plasticity.Monocular form deprivation(MD) of rat is a classic model to study visual cortex plasticity change.Utilizing VEP technique record the shift of ocular dominance in adult rats model is of an important significance for explore the treating opportunities of amblyopia.Objective The present study was to observe the pattern VEP changes in different ages of Long-Evens rats and the adult rats after binocular form deprivation.Methods Thirty-six healthy SPF Long-Evens rats were divided into PW3,PW4,PW5,PW6 groups according to the postnatal weeks,and PW7 rats included 36 SPF Long-Evens rats.The left eye lids of the rats were sutured in PW3,PW6 and PW7 rats for 3,5,7 days respectively,and PVEP in both left and right eye were recorded to assess the rat age that visual cortex plasticity ended.Bilateral PVEP were recorded in PW7 rats,and the bilateral eyelids were sutured to establish the bilateral form deprivation models.The right eyes were opened in 7,10,14 days,and the left eyes were opened in the next 3,5,7 days respectively and the PVEPs were recorded again to find the shift of ocular dominance and whether binocular form deprivation induce the visual cortex plasticity in adult rats.Results The P100amplitudes of the left eyes were gradually declined and those of the right eyes were raised from 3 to 7 days after MD of the left eyes in rats of PW3 group in comparison with before MD ( P<0.01 ).In PW6 groups,no significant changes in P100amplitudes of both the right and left eyes were found in the third day after MD,but significant raise in the right eyes and lowing in the left eyes were seen in the 5 and 7 days after MD in comparison with before MD(P<0.01 ).No any P100changes in both eyes were found in 3-7 days after MD compared with before MD in PW7 rats (P>0.05).The C/I ratio (contralateral VEP amplitude to ipsilateral VEP amplitude in occluded eyes) in the rats of PW3,PW4 and PW5 groups were 1.07±0.15,1.16±0.16 and 1.14±0.15 respectively in 3 days after MD,showing the significant lowing in comparison with before MD (2.69±0.45,2.58±0.4,2.62±0.32) (P<0.01),but those of PW6 and PW7 were unchanged (2.80±0.48 vs 2.90±0.46,2.59 ±0.36 vs 2.90±0.46,P>0.05 ),indicating the absence of ocular dominance plasticity in the adult rats.In rats of PW7 with binocular form deprivation for 14 days,a significant decrease was observed in the C/I ratio in rats with next MD for 3 days,demonstrating that the visual cortex plasticity was reactivated after 14 days of binocular form deprivation in PW7 rats( 1.33±0.18 vs 2.70±0.45,P<0.01 ).Conclusions PVEP can be recorded in Long-Evens rats.It is a major index for identifying the shift of ocular dominance in the Long-Evens rats.Binocular form deprivation can reflect the visual cortex plasticity in the adult rats.
