1.Application Prospect of Stem Cell-derived Microvesicles in Regeneration of Injured Tissues.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2015;32(3):688-692
More and more evidence indicates that microvesicles (MVs) play a key role in cell-to-cell communication. The MVs are circular fragments of membrane released from the endosomal compartment as exosomes or shed from the cell surface membranes of most types. Components of donor cells are incorporated into MVs that contain bioactive lipids, proteins, genetic cargoes. MVs derived from stem cells may reprogram cells that survived in injury tissue and favor tissue regeneration by delivering their bioactive cargoes to influence the behaviors of recipient cells. Compared with mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), MVs derived from MSCs were found to mimic the beneficial effects of these cells. These proregenerative effects mediated by MVs can be explained by the fact that MVs are enriched in bioactive lipids, anti-apoptotic and pro-stimulatory growth factors or cytokines, and deliver mRNAs, regulatory miRNAs and proteins that improve overall cell function. Therefore, it opens novel perspectives in exploiting these MVs in tissue regeneration and repair. In addition, the use of MVs instead of stem cells could represent a safe and potentially more advantageous alternative to cell-therapy approaches.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(25):4090-4094
BACKGROUND:In various clinical treatments of soft tissue defects, vacuum sealing drainage technology can effectively control wound infection, shorten the treatment time, and accelerate wound healing. OBJECTIVE:To further understand the features and characteristics of hydrated ethanol polyethylene foam vacuum sealing drainage treatment, and compare the treatment effects against soft tissue defects with the conventional dressing change treatment. METHODS:A total of 140 cases of large soft tissue defects were divided randomly into two groups. Observation group received hydrated ethanol polyethylene foam vacuum sealing drainage treatment, while control group was treated by conventional dressing change. The degree of pain relief during treatment, the family satisfaction, the survival rate of first skin-grafting, the time needed before skin-grafting, the hospitalization time, the number of operations, the readmission rates, the complication rate and other clinical effectiveness indicators were compared between the two groups. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: In the observation group, visual analog scale scores decreased 5.76±0.68, in the control group visual analog scale score decreased 2.85±0.53, with significant differences between the two groups (P < 0.05), and family satisfaction degree of the observation group was higher (P < 0.05). The survival rate of first skin-grafting of the observation group was higher than the control group (P < 0.05), the time needed before skin-grafting, the hospitalization time, the number of operations, the readmission rates, and the complication rate were lower than the control group (P < 0.05). The results showed that, compared with conventional dressing change treatment, hydrated ethanol polyethylene foam vacuum sealing drainage has advantages of light pain, short treatment time, low rate of complications, and high efficacy.
5.Clinical analysis of the relationship between chemotherapy after pneumonectomy and bronchopleural fistula
Journal of Regional Anatomy and Operative Surgery 2015;(5):557-558,559
Objective To evaluate the relationship between chemotherapy after pulmonary resection and the incidence rate of bron-chopleural fistula. Methods 246 patients who received pulmonary resection in our hospital from January 2009 to June 2014 were chosen, and they were divided into the chemotherapy group and the non-chemotherapy group. The 138 patients in the chemotherapy group received chemotherapy one month after resection while the other 108 in the non-chemotherapy group did not. Bronchopleural fistula of the two groups were diagnosed and analyzed in order to evaluate the relationship between chemotherapy after pulmonary resection and incidence rate of bron-chopleural fistula. Results There were 12 cases of bronchopleural fistula in the chemotherapy group with an incidence rate of 8. 70%, while there were 2 cases of bronchopleural fistula in the non-chemotherapy group with an incidence rate of 1. 85%. The difference between the two groups is statistically significant (P<0. 05). Conclusion Chemotherapy after pulmonary resection will increase the incidence rate of bron-chopleural fistula.
6.Use Density of Carbapenems and Bacterial Drug Resistance in 5 Consecutive Years
China Pharmacy 2007;0(29):-
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of the correlation between the use density of carbapenems and the bacterial drug-resistance.METHODS:The data including the use density of carbapenems in the ICU ward of a hospital, the categories of the related pathogenic bacteria and monitoring results on drug resistances in 5 consecutive years were collected for an analysis of the quantitative change in a corresponding stage.RESULTS:Non-fermentative Gram-negative bacilli(NFGNB) were prone resistant to carbapenems and the resistant rate fluctuated in relation to the use density of carbapenems. The Enterobacter had low resistance to carbapenems and was independent of the use density of carbapenems.CONCLUSION:The use density of carbapenems has a positive correlation with the resistance of NFGNB.Reasonable drug use density may slow down or reduce bacterial drug-resistance.

8.Extracorporeal shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction and Peyronie's disease.
National Journal of Andrology 2014;20(9):846-849
Penile vascular endothelial damage, vasomotor dysfunction, and blood flow deficiency are the major causes of erectile dysfunction (ED). Current management of ED mostly depends on selective phosphodiesterase type 5- (PDE5) inhibitors, which fail for some ED patients. For Peyronie's disease-induced ED, surgical and physical therapies are used in addition to PDE5I medication, but frequently it is difficult to achieve satisfactory results. Recent studies show that the low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy can promote angiogenesis and improve blood flow to the penis, which promises to be a novel effective therapy for ED and Peyronie's disease.

Journal of Medical Research 2009;38(8):42-44
Objective To study the changes of ventilatory function of young soldiers coming from different regions during cold - tol-erance training. Methods The recruited young soldiers were divided into 2 groups:Group Ⅰ (50 coming from the northern region)and group Ⅱ (50 coming from the southern region) . According to the new training outline of cold -tolerance in winter, their ventilatory func-tions were tested before training and 60 days after training. Ventilatory functions were compared between smoking and non - smoking sub-jects. Results 25% forced expiratory flow (FEF25%) , 50% forced expiratory flow (FEF50%) and 75% forced expiratory flow (FEF75 %) were significant different between two groups before the course of training (P < 0.05). After 60 days, ventilatory functions of two groups were improved significantly as compared with that before training (P <0.01 ,P <0.05). There was no significant difference in ventilatory between two groups after 60 days of training (P > 0.05). There was significant difference in partial small airway function be-tween smoking and non - smoking subjects. Conclusion Cold air could decline the small airway function of soldiers coming from south-ern region before training. Cold -tolerance training has significant influence on soldiers' ventilatory function. Long- term and heavy smok-ing could decline the small airway function.
