Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome(PSIS) is a rare disease characterized by different degrees of anterior pituitary hormone deficiency.The typical imaging finding is a thin or absent pituitary stalk,often associated with an ectopic posterior pituitary and a hypoplastic anterior pituitary.The cause is still unkown.Dynamic contrastenhanced MRI helps to confirm the diagnosis.Replacement of multiple anterior pituitary hormones is the key of the treatment.Doctors should have a thorough understanding of the disease and give patients efficacious treatment and a better prognosis would be obtained.

Objective:To evaluate the relation between the single nucleotide polymorphism of CYP2D6 gene G4268C and the genetic susceptibility to lung cancer. Methods: A case-control study was conducted among 118 lung cancer patients and 118 control subjects (matched for sex, age) to investigate the role of CYP2D6 gene G4268C polymorphism in lung cancer; PCR-RFLP was used to identify the genotypes of polymorphism. Logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between polymorphism and genetic susceptibility to lung cancer. Results: The frequency of G4268→C mutation in case and control group were 69.49% and 75.00%, respectively. Non-C4268/C genotype (including G4268/G and G4268/C genotype) was correlated to the high risk of lung cancer, with OR adjusted by gender, age and smoking being 1.80 (95% CI=1.06-3.06), especially to lung adenocarcinoma (OR being 2.95 95% CI=1.39-6.23). After stratified analysis of smoking history and adjusting by gender and age, it was revealed that non-C4268/C genotype was associated with significantly increased risk of lung cancer in non-smokers and light-smokers group, with OR=2.12 (95% CI=1.03-4.36) and OR=3.75 (95% CI=1.15-12.22), respectively. Conclusion: C4268/C genotype may be a protective factor in lung adenocarcinoma patients and may decrease the risk of lung cancer in non-smokers and light-smorkers.

Objective To analyse the clinical characteristics of male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.Methods Clinical data of 87 cases of male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism were retrospectively analyzed.Results Mean age was(18.8?4)years old,and 25 patients were diagnosed as Kallman syndrome.The level of serum LH,FSH,and T was low,and LH responded poorly to GnRH stimulation.Most patients' bone age was delayed,and all patients' CT or MRI of pituitary was normal.Conclusion According to the above clinical features,and testosterone replacement or hCG and/or plus hMG are the choice of treatment.

Obiective To investigate the effects of antidepressant therapy on whole regulating function of serotonin and tryptophan hydroxylase 2 system in ovariectomized(OVX) rats with depressive disorder.Methods seventy-two female Sprague-Dawley rats were used as subjects.The rats were randomly divided in-to 8 groups as following:Sham operation group (Sn),depression group (Dn),the OVX group (On),OVX with depression group (ODn),OVX with depression + sertraline group (ODs),OVX with depression + citalopram group(ODx),OVX with depression+ venlafaxine group(ODw),OVX with depression+ reboxetine group(0Dr).Rats in group OVX and group OVX with depression were ovariectomized.Rats in group with depression were exposed to the chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS).Open-field test and sugar consumption experiment were tested on all rats before the experiment and the 28th day of experiment.The expression of TPH2 mRNA was measured with RT-PCR,and the expression of TPH2 protein was detected by Western blot.The concentration of 5-HT was detected by ELISA.Results (1) After exposure of CUMS,the scores of motion and percentage of sugar consumption experiment in Dn group were decreased contrast to the Sn group (P＜0.05),and the scores in ODn group were decreased compared with the on group(P＜0.05).(2)The protein and gene expression of THP2 in On and Dn group were decreased contrast to the Sn group (P＜0.05).The protein and gene expression of THP2 in ODn were decreased compared with the on group (P＜0.05).The protein and gene expression of THP2 in ODs (protein (0.68±0.07);gene (0.87±0.09)),ODx (protein (0.71 ±0.05);gene (0.84±0.17)),ODw(protein (0.69±0.04);gene (0.88±0.16)) and ODr(protein (0.53±0.07);gene (0.70±0.15)) were increased compared with the ODn(protein (0.31±0.09);gene (0.56±O.16)) group (P＜0.05).(3)The concentration of 5-HT of hippocampus and serum in Dn and On group were decreased contrast to the Sn group (P＜0.05).The concentration of 5-HT of hippocampus and serum in ODs,ODx,ODw and ODr group was increased compared with the ODn group (P＜0.05).Conclusion The antidepressants can up-regulate the expression of THP2 and the concentration of 5-HT in the OVX rats with depressive disorder.Sertralin is stronger however Reboxetine Mesylate is the poorest.

Objective:To study the effects of ozone aging on the color stability of the SY-1 silicone elastomer. Methods :40 SY-1 silicone elastomer samples were prepared and grouped into 4 with 10 in each group. The samples in each group were painted with gouache color, oil pigment and inorganic salt respectively, one group was used as the control. Then the samples were treated with ?=10 -4 % ozone at 10～16 mm/s for 72 h. The color of the samples were measured by 1976 CIE L *a *b * standards of chromatic aberration before and after ozone treatment. The chromatic aberration was expressed as △E=〔△L *)2+(△a *)2+(△b *)2〕 1/2. Results :After 72 hours of ozone aging, △E of the samples in the groups of control, gouache color, oil pigment and inorganic salt was 0.55?0.11, 3.55 ? 0.09, 1.40 ? 0.11 and 1.57 ? 0.07 respectively ;Conclusion:Under the ozone aging condition, the SY-1 silicone elastomers stained with oil pigment and inorganic salt may have better color stability than that with gouache color.

ObjectiveTo explore the expression and clinical significance of Ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1 (Rac-1) protein and hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) in breast cancer and their relationship with tumor stage, node metastasis status and hormone receptor status. MethodsImmunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of Rac-1 and HIF-1α protein in 139 specimens of breast cancer,combined with their clinical pathological characteristics and hormone receptor status for statistical analysis.Results The expression of Rac-1 and HIF-1α in breast cancer tissue were 64.75 ％ and 65.47 ％,respectively.The levels were related with the stage of TNM and histological grade (P ＜ 0.05,P ＜ 0.01).There was no significant correlation between these two proteins'expression and the age of patient,primary pathological location, histologic type and menstruation status of breast cancer patients(P ＞ 0.05). The expression of Rac-1 and HIF-1α had no statistical significance between triple negative breast cancer(TNBC)and non-triple negative breast cancer (NTNBC) patients (x2 =1.1229,x2 =0.1786,P ＞ 0.05); The expression level of Rac-1 was positively correlated with HIF-1α in these breast cancer specimens (rs =0.414,P ＜ 0.01).ConclusionThe expression of Rac-1 is positively correlated with HIF-1α level in breast cancer.The relationship between Rac-1 and HIF-1α might be as a new important marker to estimate the invasion,metastasis extent and prognosis in breast cancer.Blocking the regulation between Rac-1 and HIF-1α might be a new treatment target in breast cancer.

Objective: To establish two methods (HPLC UV and HPLC ELSD)for the determination of 3 kinds of cholic acids in Qingkailing Injection, and compare them with UV method. Methods: Two HPLC methods detected by UV and ELSD, respectively have been developed: Phenomenex Luna C 18 column(250mm?4.6mm,5?)with linear gradient elution using methanol acetotrile(4∶1) and 0.1% aqueous formic acid. Results: Three kinds of cholic acids in Qingkailing could be determined simultaneously by HPLC UV and HPLC ELSD. The recovery of three method were 100%,97%,95%～96% for HPLC/ELSD,HPLC/UV,UV, respectively. Conclusion: The HPLC ELSD method was accurate and specific to determine the content of cholic acids in Qingkailing Injection.

Abstrac:Objective To analyze the efficacy and safety of medpor-coated tear drain in lacrimal bypass surgery without skin incision. Methods The data of 7 patients(7 eyes) who underwent no skin incision of lacrimal bypass surgery with medpor-coated tear drain were ret-rospective reviewed. The operation result and complications were observed. Results All patients were followed up for 5~17 months. Com-plete or significant improvement of epiphora was achieved in 5 cases at the last follow-up. Complications included conjunctival granulation hy-perplasia (3 eyes),nasal mucosal granulation hyperplasia (2 eyes),and discomfort (4 eyes). Conclusion The lacrimal bypass surgery with medpor-coated tear drain could be expected to improve epiphora of refractory lacrimal obstruction. The main complications are granulation hyperplasia and discomfort.

Objective To evaluate the quality and proficiency testing of HIV confirmatory laboratories in China.Methods Sevenyear consecutive assessments of the laboratories added up to 297 times,including function and serum technology evaluations from 1997 to 2004.Questionnaires were used for the evaluation of function,including laboratory quality management, training and quality validation of the lower level laboratories.The serum technology evaluation used the same serum panel to screen HIV antibody and perform western blot(WB) confirmatory test.The two parts of evaluation results gave 100 scores each with excellent(above 95),good(81～95),pass(71～80),weak(60～70) and failure(below 60).Results The consistency rate between ELISA and WB in all laboratories was above 85 percent from 1998 to 2004,with a rate above 95 percent from 2001 to 2004.The excellent rates were all above 55 percent during these years,among which the highest is 91.67 percent in 2003.Only one laboratory failed in 1999.Conclusion The strict quality evaluation shows the testing ability of HIV confirmatory laboratory is improving year by year.The standardized management,performed with the training,validation and technical guidance to the lower level laboratory would continuously improve the quality of HIV confirmatory laboratories.

Objective To determine the current prevalence and risk factors of metabolic syndrome (MS) among adult residents in Chinese developed areas.Methods The clinical data of 6614 adult residents,including 4051 women,from Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces from China Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders Study (2007-2008) were analyzed.Age and sex standardized prevalences of MS were calculated according to the criteria of Chinese Diabetes Society (CDS),US National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel Ⅲ (ATP Ⅲ),International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and Joint Interim Statement (JIS),respectively.Logistic regression analysis was performed to identify the risk factors of MS.Results Age and sex standardized prevalences of MS were 17.88％ (CDS),28.50％ (ATP Ⅲ),21.99％ (IDF) and 31.50％ (JIS),respectively.The prevalences of residents with at least one metabolic abnormality were 67.86％ (CDS) 79.56％ (ATP Ⅲ),79.62％ (IDF) and 80.74％ (JIS),respectively.MS was more common in female than in male by the ATPⅢ and IDF criterion (ATPⅢ:30.63％ vs 26.45％,P ＜0.01 ; IDF:26.04％ vs 17.91％,P ＜ 0.01),while the prevalence was higher in male by CDS criteria (15.94％ vs 19.87％,P ＜0.01).There was no significant difference in the MS prevalence between the rural and the urban residents.Kappa test showed ATP Ⅲ and JIS criteria were most homogenous (κ =0.95,P ＜ 0.01).The risk factors for MS by the logistic regression model were male,older age,lower degree of education,family history of hypertension and obesity,drinker as well as uncontrolled diet.Conclusion The prevalence of MS is high in the adult residents of Chinese developed areas (Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces),whatever diagnostic criterion was used.Effective measures should be taken to control the modifiable MS risk factors.
