1.Current situation and thinking of the prognostic gene markers' in early-stage non-small-cell lung cancer
Cancer Research and Clinic 2010;22(9):577-580
Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with the same TNM stage may suffer from large prognosis variations. Even patients with early-stage NSCLC still demonstrated lower-than-expecting survival rates after surgical resection, indicating that the current staging methods which were based on anatomy do not adequately predict outcome. Especially the insufficient growth of very early period tumors limited the prognostic prediction of anatomy characteristics, therefore studies focusing on tumor biologic characteristics were developed in order to identify prognostic gene markers. A variety of prognostic genomic models were based on microarray analysis and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and analyzed by bioinformatics data processing. However, the prognostic gene lists reported to date overlapped poorly in the studies with similar background. To improve the cloudy situation, the research protocol should be standardized. On the other hand, instead of simple addition of several genes, sequential combination of prognostic gene markers based on signal pathway should be developed which may possess much more rationality and systematicness.

Objective To investigate the feasibility and clinical effects of the pair ringer technology for bony avulsion of the posterior cruciate ligament under arthroscopy. Methods From January 2005 to July 2009, 23 patients were treated with the pair ringer technology for bony avulsion of the posterior cruciate ligament by arthroscopy. There were 15 male and 8 female, with an average of 39.3 years (ranging from 28 to 52 years). There were 4 cases of type Ⅱ, 14 type Ⅲ, and 5 type Ⅳ according to Meyer-Mckeever classification. The outcome measures were X-ray and MRI testing, Lysholm and Tegner knee function score. Results All the operations were finished in an hour. There were no complications as nerve injury or infection occurred in the study. The patients were followed-up for an average of 16.5 months (12-23 months). The Lysholm score rose from 50.3±6.1 preoperatively to 89.7±8.3 at the six months postoperatively (t=18.34, P=0.0007). The Tegner score rose from 1.7±0.5 preoperatively to 5.7±1.3 at the six months postoperatively (t=13.77,P=0.0008). All of the patients recover a functionally stable knee and have considerably improved knee function compared with their preoperative status. Conclusion The pair ringer technology under arthroscopy is a liable method for bony avulsion of the posterior cruciate ligament. This minimally invasive technology leads to rigid fixation, early rehabilitation.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2008;41(9):612-615
Objective To investigate the role of dendritic cell (DC) subsets and T cell subpopulations expressing different intracellular cytokines in the pathogenesis of syphilis. Methods Flow cytometry was utilized to measure the frequencies of peripheral DC subsets and IFN-γ-, IL-2-, IL-4-, IL-10-expressing peripheral CD4+ and CD8+ T cell subpopulations in 20 patients with syphilis before and after therapy, and in 15 healthy human controls. Results The frequency of CD11c+ DC was significantly lower in pretreated patients than that in treated patients (P<0.01), but higher than that in the normal controls (P<0.05), and the same was true for the frequency of IFN-γ-expressing T cells, IL-2-expressing T cells, and IL-12-expressing T cells. By contrast, a decrease was noticed in the frequency of IL-4-expressing T cells and IL-10-expressing T cells in pretreated patients compared with that in the normal controls. Furthermore, in patients with syphilis, the frequency of CD11c+ and CD123+ DC was unrelated to the percentage of IFN-γ-expressing and IL-12- expressing T cells (both P>0.05). Conclusions IFN-γ, IL-2 and IL-12 may exert an immunoregnlatory effect in the eliminating of Treponema pallidum, whereas IL-4 and IL-10 may perform an imrnunoinhibitory effect.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(44):7163-7166
BACKGROUND:3D printing technology for preoperative planning has been a trend at present. Moreover, this technology has been extensively used in bone tumor resection and maxilofacial surgery, but seldom used in fracture repair. OBJECTIVE: To explore the value of 3D printing technology application in preoperative evaluation of pelvic fracture, planning and during surgery. METHODS:Pelvic fracture patients underwent preoperative CT scan. Pelvic models of the patients were printed using 3D printing technology at 1:1. Preoperative processing was conducted, including choice of approach, design of incision exposure range, design of fracture reduction, pre-implantation position of the steel plate, optimal plastic design of steel plate, measurement of screw length and design of screw direction. Matta score of pelvic fracture reduction and Majeed score of pelvic function after repair were measured during folow-up. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The operation time was 55-130 minutes, averagely (84.75±20.15) minutes. Intraoperative blood loss was 200-800 mL, averagely (417.00±173.58) mL. After operation, no incision infection, fracture nonunion, fixator loosening or breakage appeared. Al patients were folowed up for 8-24 months. The fracture healing time was 10-16 weeks, averagely 12.5 weeks. Fracture reduction was assessed according to Matta scoring: excelent in 15 cases, good in 3 cases, average in 2 cases, and poor in 0 case, with an excelent and good rate of 90%. Postoperative function was assessed according to Majeed scoring: excelent in 13 cases, good in 5 cases, average in 2 cases, and poor in 0 case, with an excelent and good rate of 90%. These findings showed that the application of 3D printing technology in pelvic fracture can determine the fracture’s displacement, is helpful for accurate reduction and plate modeling, reduces surgery duration and intraoperative blood loss and complication, finaly achieves better surgical result. 3D printing technology can better evaluate and plan the pelvic fracture before repair, and can be used as a routine project preparation of pelvic fracture repair.
