Anemia of prematurity is very common in preterm infant.Phlebotomy losses and inadequate production of erythropoietin are the main reasons.Treatment of anemia of prematurity includes delayed umbilical cord clamping at delivery,decreasing phlebotomy losses,use of red cell growth factors such as erythropoietin properly,red blood cell transfusions,which are based on indications and guidelines.In this article we review recent studies in preventing and treating anemia in preterm infants.

[Objective] To sum up the clinical experience of famous veteran doctor LI Rongzhen in treating the fundus oculi disease. [Methods] By learning from Professor LI Rongzhen, recording the relevant cases and analyzing the typical cases, to summarize the academic idea and the clinical experience according to the viscera syndrome differentiation and treatment characteristics, as well as list two proved cases. [Results] Professor LI Rongzhen holds that this disease is closely related with the viscera, origins from heart, involving liver, lung and kidney. In the clinical treatment, Professor LI is good at using the classical prescriptions and the therapy with syndrome differentiation with the permit addition and subtraction, according to the pattern of the fundus oculi disease, which has received the remarkable effect: patients with the deficiency of both heart and spleen of sudden blind, using the principle of nourishing qi to stop bleeding with Guipi Decoction, patients with hyper-action of liver yang, using Zhengan Xifeng Decoction to nourish yin for suppressing hyperactive yang, patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis are treated by Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction to remove stasis and stopp blood;patients with deficiency of kidney-yin of vitreous opacity, using the treatment of tonifying kidney for improving eyesight, with Six Ingredient Rehmannia Pill to nourish the liver and kidney, syndrome with the disharmony of liver and spleen, using Xiaoyao Powder to replenish vital energy ,deficiency of qi and blood, applying Bazhen Decoction to invigorate qi and blood. All of the cases verify her clinical experience. [Conclusion] While treating the fundus oculi disease, Professor LI pays attention to the relation between the eyes and the viscera, using the therapy with syndrome differentiation, with the flexible application of the ancient prescriptions and the traditional Chinese medicine, her experience in treating the fundus oculi disease is well worth learning and using.

This paper introduces the perioperative nursing of 47 patients undergoing intraperitoneal parastomal hernia repair.After the surgery,two cases suffered from incision infection and two cases with subcutaneous hydrops.Three patients suffered from chronic pain or foreign bodies sensation,which disappeared at 3-6 months later.No recurrence occurred at 6-24 months after the surgery.It is suggested that the key points of perioperative nursing were careful preoperative symptom care and bowel preparation,as well as postoperative observation and correct discharge instruction.

Objective: To study the relation of bile acid levels and fetal hypoxia and brain injury in Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy (ICP). Methods: From May. 2006 to Sep. 2006, we selected 30 cases of ICP as the study group, and randomly selected 30 cases of normal pregnant women for delivery during the same period as the control group in our hospital. Color Doppler ultrasound was used to measure the peak systolic velocity to end-diastolic velocity (S/D) and the resistive index (RI) of fetal middle cerebral artery, and the automatic biochemical analyzer be used to detect the total bile acid (BA) in maternal blood, and BA, pH as well as lactate in umbilical arterial serum; neuron-specific enolase (NSE) in umbilical artery serum was detected by ELISA. The results were analyzed and compared. Results:①The BA concentration in maternal blood and newborn umbilical artery blood of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group ( P<0.01). In the study group, the BA in maternal and newborn blood were positively correlated ( r=0.937, P< 0.01) ;②Lactate and the NSE Concentration in newborn umbilical artery of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group ( P< 0.01). The pH value innewbom umbilical artery and The S/D, RI value of fetal middle cerebral artery in the study group was significantly lower than those of control group ( P< 0.01); ③ In the study group, the NSE concentration was positively correlated with BA and lactate concentration in newborn umbilical artery, while negatively correlated with the S/D and RI values of fetal middle cerebral artery and the pH value in newborn umbilical artery ( P<0.01). Conclusions: There is the existence of hypoxia and brain injury in fetus of ICP. By measuring the blood flow changes of fetal cerebral artery with Color Doppler and detecting pH, lactate as well as NSE levels in umbilical arterial blood, we could early predict the fetal hypoxia and diagnose the fetal brain injury in ICP.

Objective To analyze the clinical effect of minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy titanium laser lithotripsy(MPCNL)on upper ureteral calculi.Methods According to digital table,68 patients with upper ureteral calculi were randomly divided into the study group and control group,cach group in 34 cases.The study group received the MPCNL treatment,the control group received extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL)therapy. The therapeutic effects were compared.Results The success rate of gravel,stone clearance rates of the study group were 91 .1 8% and 91 .1 8%,which were higher than 70.59%,67.65% of the control group,there were significant differences between the two groups(χ2 =4.660,5.757,P =0.031 ,0.0164).Conclusion Percutaneous nerve titanium laser lithotripsy for upper ureteral stones can achieve good therapeutic effect.

Objective To explore the value of follow-up of serum TSH stimulating thyroglobulin (Tg) test and 131I whole body scan(WBS) in patients with differentiated thyroid cancer(DTC) who were treated by 131I.Methods By SPSS software,Kappa test was performed between results of serum Tg,TgAb test and WBS for diagnosis of persistent/recurrent DTC.Results Consistency test of TSH stimulating Tg,TgAb and 131I WBS for diagnostic persistent/recurrent or metastasis of DTC:kappa value =0.587,SE =0.076,P ＜ 0.01.Although the results showed that two measurements appeared definite consistency,it is dissatisfactory.Conclusion Serum TSH stimulating Tg test and 131I whole body scan(WBS) are important follow-up tools for patients with DTC.Because of Tg interfering it is necessary to performed TgAb test simultaneously,when Tg test was performed.Especially 131I WBS do is not absent because false negative would be able to appeared in single serum TSH stimulating Tg and TgAb test.

Serum levels of human CXC-chemokine ligand 16,basic fibroblast growth factor,plateletderived endothelial cell growth factor,and number of endothelial progenitor cells were determined in 80 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and 40 normal control subjects.It was found that there were some disturbances of angiogenesis in diabetic patients.These abnormalities were more pronounced in these patients with old age,hyperglycemia,raised HbA1c,and presence of vascular diseases.

Objective To investigate changes of oxidative stress in the hearts and their roles in diabetic cardiomyopathy of rats.Methods Thirty six rats with diabetic cardiomyopathy were induced by streptozocin(STZ),and were randomly divided into three groups:(1) normal control (NC) group,normal control rats; (2) Diabetes maintain (DM) group,diabetic rats received protamine zinc insulin (PZI) 2 ～4 U/2 days; and (3) Diabetes treatment (DT) group,diabetic rats received PZI 9 ～ 12 U/kg body weigh/day.After 12 weeks,rats were killed,and the parameters including blood glucose,glycated hemoglobin a1c (HbA1c),total cholesterol (TC),and triglyceride (TG) were measured.Maleic dialdehyde (MDA),the total antioxidant capacity of the hearts,and activities of antioxidant enzymes in hearts including total superoxide dismutase (TSOD),catalase (CAT),and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) were measured by chromatometry.The pathologic changes of heart tissues were studied by hematoxylin eosin (HE),periodic acid Schiff (PAS),and nitrotyrosine (NT) staining.Results After 12 weeks,parameters including blood glucose,HbA1c,TC,and TG were increased significantly in DM group relative to NC group or DT group.The level of heart MDA was elevated obviously in the DM group [NC group (7.82 ±0.62) nmol/mgprot,DM group (12.81 ± 1.35) nmol/mgprot,and DT group (8.20 ±0.85) nmol/mgprot].The total antioxidant capacity and activities of TSOD [(235.09 ± 14.94) U/mgprot],GSH-Px [(56.59 ± 4.96) U] were decreased significantly in the DM group.The level of CAT [(13.84 ± 2.88) U/mgprot] was increased obviously in the DM group.The cardial myocyte hypertrophy,myocyte steatosis,and PAS positive material could be found in the hearts of rats in DM group with HE and PAS staining.The expression of NT was much stronger in DM group than NC or DT groups.NT was less expressed in DT group,and was almost not expressed in the NC group.Conclusions Oxidative stress could be caused by diabetes in diaetic hearts and might play an important role in the etiology of diabetic cardiomyopathy.

Objective To observe the treatment efficacy in patients with hyperthyroidism by ~(131) radioactive iodine in conjunction with Jiakangshu oral solution.Methods 465 cases with hyperthyroidism were divided into control group(n=235)and treatment group(n=230).In the treatment group on the basis of ~(131) iodine therapy plus service Jiakangshu oral solution.The contents of T_3,T_4,FT_3,FT_4,TSH were observed before and after treatment.Results The cure rate 74.7% in treatment group after treatment 12-month was higher than 65.1%(χ~2=3.94,P＜0.05),total effective rate 88.6% was higher than 80.4%(χ~2=3.90,P＜0.05).The contents of T_3,T_4,FT_3,FT_4,TSH drop,but TSH levels increased in two groups after 12 months with those before treatment(t=2.745,2.778,2.845,2.812,2.833,all P＜0.05).The contents of T_3,T_4,FT_3,FT_4 in treatment group decreased significantly compared with the control group after treatment 12 months(t=2.145,2.178,2.245,all P＜0.05).The negative conversion rate of TGAb,TMAb in the treatment group were significantly higher than control group(χ~2=3.98,3.88,all P＜0.05).Conclusion The treatment effecs are obvious in patients with hyperthyroidism by 131 radioactive iodine in conjunction with JiaKangShu oral solution.
