BACKGROUND:Acupuncture point matching is little reported in the electroacupuncture for cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the influence of electroacupuncture acupoints selected by orthogonal experiment on rats with cerebral ischemia reperfusion and extracel ular signal regulated kinase (ERK) signal pathway.
METHODS:150 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups:sham operation group rats were exposed the middle cerebral artery only;models of cerebral ischemia reperfusion were established in the rats in model and orthogonal groups. Then rats in the orthogonal groups 1 (Baihui (DU 20), Quchi (LI 11), Zusanli (ST 36), and Chize (LU 5)), 2 (Baihui (DU 20), Zusanli (ST 36), Chize (LU 5), and Sanyinjiao (SP 6)) and 3 (Hegu (LI 4), Zusanli (ST 36), Chize (LU 5) and Sanyinjiao (SP 6)) were given electroacupuncture at acupoints selected by orthogonal experiment, respectively.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the model group, in al orthogonal groups, the neurological function deficit scores were decreased, infarct volume was smal er, the number of microvessel density in the ischemia region and the p-ERK expression level in the cortex and hippocampal CA1 region of ischemic hemisphere were increased, and significant changes were found in the orthogonal group 3. These findings indicate that electroacupuncture at points of Hegu (LI 4), Zusanli (ST 36), Chize (LU 5) and Sanyinjiao (SP 6) selected by orthogonal experiment can significantly reduce the infarct volume of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats possibly by regulating the ERK signaling pathway.

Objective To investigate the application value of the self-rated health measurement scale (SRHMS) in health check-up.Method A total of 8 083 health check-up receivers frow Fujian Province underwent SRHMS self-assessment,and the results of the assessment were analyzed by Chi-square test.Result The results of the survey showed that the total prevalence rate of chronic disease was 57.8％ top five were stomach/duodenum diseases (14.57％),hypertension (11.58％),mammary gland disease (8.04％),abnormal blood lipid (7.16％) and prostate disease (6.54％).The proportion of these five kinds of illness was 43.38％.A positive correlation between the prevalence rate of chronic disease and age was found.The difference of the prevalence rate of chronic diseases between each age group was statistically significant (x2=863.816,P=0.000).Those with family history of chronic diseases accounted for 69.27％ and those with history of present illness accounted for 57.83％ (4 674/8 083).Bodily pain,dietary preferences,refined grain intake,lack of exercise,and alcohol drinking was found in 75.03％,60.15％,54.84％,46.07％ and 41.50％ participants.Conclusion The SRHMS could reflect the chronic disease incidence and unhealthy daily habits.

In this paper, taking Shijiazhuang city, Hebei province as an example, a random sampling of 30 streets in three districts were investigated the use of tactile ground surface indicator. The survey showed that 69% of the existing tactile ground surface indicator were used normally, while 8%were laid unreasonable, 11%were occupied and 12%were damaged. Suggestions were set from three aspects:sci-entific and reasonable laying, strengthening supervision and maintenance, and strengthening publicity and education, so as to improve the current situation of tactile ground surface indicator, improve the utilization rate, promote the participation of visually impaired persons in so-cial life and improve their quality of life.

OBJECTIVETo explore the action mechanism of electroacupuncture (EA) at "Shenmen" (HT 7) and "Sanyinjiao" (SP 6) on insomnia.

METHODSThirty SD rats were randomly divided into a blank group, a model group and an EA group, 10 cases in each group. The insomnia model was made by immobilization method in the model group and EA group. After model establishment, rats in the blank group and model group were treated with fixation and no treatment was given. Rats in the EA group were treated with EA at "Shenmen" (HT 7) and "San-yinjiao" (SP 6) for 15 min, once a day for 4 days. After treatment, the level of daytime and nighttime activity, open-arm entry percentage and open-arm time percentage of elevated plus-maze test were measured; the content of noradrenaline (NE), dopamine (DA) and epinephrine (EPI) in plasma and NE, DA in thalamus and brainstem were detected by using euzymelinked immunosorbent assay method.

RESULTSCompared with the blank group, the daytime activity was increased and nighttime activity was reduced in the model group (both P<0. 05); the open-arm entry percentage and open-arm time percentage of elevated plus-maze test were both reduced in the model group (both P<0. 05); the contents of NE, DA, EPI in the plasma and NE, DA in thalamus and brainstem were increased in the model group (all P<0. 05). CONCLUSIONElectroacupuncture at "Shenmen" (HT 7) and "Sanyinjiao" (SP 6) can restrain the over-activity of the sympathetic-adrenal medullary system to treat the insomnia.

Objective To investigate the risk factors of prognosis of gram-positive bacteria associated nosocomial bloodstream infections,and to investigate the drug resistance of the strains.Methods A total of 132 patients with gram-positive bacteria associated nosocomial bloodstream infections were collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medicine University during January 2010 and December 2012.Clinical data including demographic characteristics,underlying diseases,risk factors and use of antibacterial agents were retrospectively analyzed.According to 28-day prognosis,patients were divided into survival group (n =97) and death group (n =35).Binary logistic regression was used to identify the risk factors of 28-day fatality.Results Among 132 patients,49 (37.12％) were infected with coagulase-negative Staphylococcus,46 (34.85％) were infected with Staphylococcus aureus,37 (28.03％)were infected with Enterococcus.The rates of methicillin resistant coagulase negative Staphylococci (MRCNS) and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) were 77.55％ (38/49) and 54.35％ (25/46),respectively.The rate of linezolid resistant coagulase negative Staphylococci was 8.16％ (4/49) ; Four out of 37 strains (10.81％) of Enterococcus were both resistant to vancomycin and linezolid.Binary logistic regression showed that septic shock (OR =34.344,95％ CI:6.539-180.389,P =0.000),deep venous catheterization (OR =13.411,95％ CI:1.877-95.832,P =0.010),no catheter removal after infection (OR =8.759,95％ CI:2.197-34.911,P =0.002),parenteral nutrition (OR =3.684,95％ CI:1.072-12.663,P =0.038),inappropriate antibacterial therapy in early stage (OR =12.951,95％ CI:2.075-80.836,P =0.006) and Enterococcus associated bloodstream infections (OR =4.227,95％ CI:1.090-16.394,P =0.037) were independent risk factors of 28-day fatality in patients with gram-positive bacteria associated nosocomial bloodstream infections.Conclusions The predominant pathogens are coagulase-negative Staphylococcus,Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus in gram-positive bacteria associated nosocomial bloodstream infections.Patients with septic shock,deep venous catheterization,no catheter removal after infection,parenteral nutrition,inappropriate antibacterial therapy in early stage and Enterococcus associated bloodstream infections are likely to have high fatality rate.

Objective To explore the characteristics of oxygen uptake efficiency (OUES) in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) and analyze the relationship between OUE and severity of disease.Methods Pulmonary function test,polysomnogram and cardiopulmonary exercise testing were performed in 35 patients with OSAHS and 25 age-matched healthy volunteers.Their successive breathing respiratory exchange parameters were collected and analyzed.And t and x2 tests were used for 2 sample comparison.Correlation analysis was performed by Pearson correlation test.Results Significant differences in peak VO2 and peak VO2 ％ pred existed between OSAHS and normal control groups [(18±4) vs.(28 ±6) L/min,P＜0.01;(68±14) vs.(84±16) ％,P＜0.01].Compared with normal control group [(2.3 ±0.5) L · min-1 · lg-1 ; (36 ±4) ml/L; (36 ±4) ml/L],OUES,OUEP and OUE@AT of OSAHS group [(1.8 ± 0.4) L · min-1 · lg-1 ; (31 ± 5) ml/L; (30 ± 5) ml/L] were significantly lower (t =3.78-4.49,all P ＜0.01).And OUES,OUEP and OUE@AT in OSAHS patients were correlated (r =0.53-0.67,all P ＜0.01) positively with exercise tolerance (peak VO2％ pred) while negatively with apnea hypopnea index (AHI) (r=-0.67--0.54,all P ＜0.01).Conclusion The oxygen uptake efficiency of patients with OSAHS is significantly reduced compared to that of normal subjects.And it is correlated negatively with severity of disease.

Objectives: By observing and evaluating the clinical curative effect systematically of electrical acupuncture (EA) on Tianshu (ST 25) on diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (D-IBS), to make it benefit for the application and spread of EA on Tianshu (ST 25)on D-IBS. Methods: 103 D-IBS matched the involved standards were allocated into treatment group (EA on ST 25, n=53) and control group (EA on Daheng, SP 15, n=50) in randomized,controlled and single-blind ways. Curative effect differences were analyzed by Ridit analysis.Results: The incidence of diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal distention or abdominal discomfort, borborygmus, defecation urgency and defecation incompletion feeling were 100%,89.3%, 71.8%, 74.8%, 83.5% and 78.6% respectively in D-IBS. Generally, after treatment, 11cases got excellent results, 34 cases improved and 8 failed in treatment group, totally effective rate was 84.9%; while in control group, 4 cases got excellent effects, 26 improved and 20 failed,totally the effective rate was 60.0%. Conclusion: Compared with control group, EA on Tianshu (ST 25) has a better curative effect on D-IBS.
