Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 2018;53(16):1401-1406
OBJECTIVE: To explore the antibacterial activity and mechanism of fusidic acid combined with aztreonam on 12 clinical isolates of carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA). METHODS: Broth dilution method was used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) of the fusidic acid and aztreonam combination. The MIC of two drugs combination were measured by the checkerboard method and partial inhibitory concentration index (FIC) was calculated to determine the combined effect. The synergistic effect of two drugs was assessed by the disk diffusion susceptibility test and the time-killing curves.Extracellular enzyme activity assay was used to detect the strains extracellular enzyme activity changes of fusidic acid alone and combined with aztreonam. The probable mechanism of the combined use of two drugs was discussed. RESULTS: Fusidic acid and aztreonam combination displayed synergistic and additive activity on 61.54% and 38.46% isolates, no antagonism activity was observed. The bacteriostasis circle was obviously increased in two drugs combination, of which 41.67% of the strains were changed from drug resistance to sensitive. The time-killing curves showed that the combined of two drugs had bactericidal effect on the isolate PA 320.Extracellular aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity were all increased in a significant difference with the combination of two drugs. CONCLUSION: Fusidic acid combined with aztreonam on CRPA is showed synergistic and additive activity in vitro. The mechanism of two drugs in combination may concern with aztreonam help the fusidic acid to overcome the natural hydrophobic antibiotic permeability barriers of gram-negative bacteria.

It has been speculated that bats serve as reservoirs of a huge variety of emerging coronaviruses (CoVs) that have been responsible for severe havoc in human health systems as well as negatively affecting human economic and social systems. A prime example is the currently active severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-CoV2, which presumably originated from bats, demonstrating that the risk of a new outbreak of bat coronavirus is always latent. Therefore, an in-depth investigation to better comprehend bat CoVs has become an important issue within the international community, a group that aims to attenuate the consequences of future outbreaks. In this review, we present a concise introduction to CoVs found in bats and discuss their distribution in Southeast Asia. We also discuss the unique adaptation features in bats that confer the ability to be a potential coronavirus reservoir. In addition, we review the bat coronavirus-linked diseases that have emerged in the last two decades. Finally, we propose key factors helpful in the prediction of a novel coronavirus outbreak and present the most recent methods used to forecast an evolving outbreak.

To improve the sensitivity of molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensors, a Pd nanoparticles-modified molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) film for the determination of trimethoprim (TMP) was developed by thermal polymerization with N, N′-methylene diacrylamide as a functional monomer, Pd nanoparticle as a dopant and ethylene glycol maleic rosinate acrylate as a crosslinking agent. The morphologies and chemical structures of the Pd nano-materials and the imprinted films were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The electrochemical properties of the nano-doped and undoped MIP sensors were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Results showed that the morphologies and chemical structures and the electrochemical properties of the doped molecularly imprinted sensor were remarkably different from those of the undoped imprinted sensor.Linear responses of the imprinted sensor to TMP were observed for concentrations ranging from 5.0×10-7 mol/L to 4.0×10-3 mol/L (R=0.9995), with a detection limit of 3.2×10-8 mol/L (S/N=3).The Pd nanoparticle doped MIP sensors exhibited high selectivity. The chronoamperometry showed that no interference from potential interfering species such as sulfamethoxazole, sulfadiazine, glucose, and urea were noted. The proposed electrochemical sensor was used to determine TMP in actual samples, with average recoveries of 96.8%-102.0%.

OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship of vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) and collagen triple helix repeat containing 1 (CTHRC1) expression with the carcinogenesis and prognosis of rectal cancer.
METHODSCancer tissue samples from 120 rectal cancer patients confirmed by pathology in the People's Hospital of Yichun City from September 2005 to September 2010 were included in the study. Expressions of CTHRC1 and VEGF-C were examined by immunohistochemistry and their correlations with clinicopathological features and prognosis were analyzed.
RESULTSThe expression of VEGF-C was positively correlated with tumor size (r=0.943), TNM stages (r=0.784) and tumor differentiation (r=0.773) (all P<0.05). Similarly, the expression of CTRHC1 was also positively correlated with tumor size (r=0.829), TNM stages (r=0.632) and tumor differentiation (r=0.532) (all P<0.05). Rectal cancer patients with low expression of VEGF-C and CTHRC1 had significantly longer survival than those with high expression of VEGF-C and CTHRC1 [(40.0±1.3) vs. (35.4±0.5) months, P<0.01, (39.0±0.5) vs. (35.0±0.5) months, P=0.014].
CONCLUSIONVEGF-C and CTHRC1 may synergistically promote the invasion and metastasis of human rectal cancer, and provide evidence in predicting the prognosis of patients.

Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry 2014;(11):1661-1666
Toimprovethesensitivity,aCuOnanoparticledopedinmolecularlyimprintedpolymer(MIP)film for the determination of phenobarbital was prepared by using methacrylic acid as functional monomers, ethylene glycol maleic rosinate acrylate as a cross linking agent by thermal polymerization method. The electrochemical properties of the nano-doped sensor were investigated using cyclic voltammetry ( CV ) , differential pulse voltammetry ( DPV ) , electrochemical impedance spectroscopy ( EIS ) and chrono-amperometry ( CA) . The chemical structures and morphologies of the imprinted films were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The results indicated that the sensors response value of peak current showed a linear dependence on the phenobarbital concentration in the ranges of 1. 2 × 10-7-1. 5 × 10-4 mol/L of phenobarbital. ( Linear regression coefficient=0. 9984 ) with the detection limit ( S/N=3 ) of 8. 2 × 10-9 mmol/L. The prepared sensor was successfully applied to the determination of phenobarbital in practical samples with recovery ranging from 96 . 5% to 103 . 0%.
