ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1) and scavenger receptor class B type I (SR-BI/CLA-1) are the key proteins in reverse cholesterol transport (RCT). The high expression of ABCA1 and SR-BI/CLA-1 can decrease the danger of atherosclerosis. The purpose of the study is to find ABCA1 and CLA-1up-regulators for treating atherosclerosis by using cell-based high throughput screening models. Among 20 000 compounds screened, E0869 [1-(3, 4-dimethylphenyl)-1-oxopropan-2-yll4-((methylsulfonyl)methyl)benzoate] was found as the positive hit. The up-regulated activities of E0869 in ABCAl1-LUC and bCA-l1-LUC HepG2 cell were 160% and 175%, respectively. The EC50 values of E0869 in ABCAl1-LUC and CLA-l1-LUC HepG2 cell were 3.79 and 1.42 pμol- x ,(-1) respectively. E0869 could upregulate the mRNA and protein levels of ABCA1, SR-BI/CLA-1 and ABCGJ1genes in HepG2 and RAW264.7 cells by Real-Time Quantitative PCR and Western blotting analysis, but could not influence the expression of FAS, SREBP-l1 and CD36. Foam cell assay showed that E0869 could inhibit lipids accumulation in mouse peritoneal macrophages RAW264.7. Cholesterol efflux assay showed that E0869 could induce HDL-mediated cholesterol efflux in mouse peritoneal macrophages RAW264.7. In conclusion, E0869 could up-regulate ABCA1 and CLA-1 activity, and had good anti-atherosclerotic activity in vitro.

Objective:To prepare the immunoglobulin Y(IgY) against Avain Influenza Virus (H5N1) and to investgate its inhibitory activity to Influenza virus A (FM1).Methods:Iimmunized by Avain Influenza vaccine,IgY against Avain Influenza Virus was purified from the yolk and then the antibody was enriched by the means:caprylate acid-two-step salt precipitation-gel chromatograph.TD0 of IgY and the inhibory effectiveness were showed by nhibiting cytopathic effect (CPE) thst in MDCK infected with Influenza virus A(FM1).Results:IgY against Avain Influenza Virus was obtained.The TD0 value of IgY against Avain Influenza to MDCK cell line was 1.764 mg/ml,while at the dosage as low as 0.082 8 mg/ml the lnfluenza virus A(FM1) was still inhibited in vitro.Connchusion:Caprylate acid-two-step salt precipitation-gel chromatograph can prepare IgY successfully and the inhibitory effectiveness of IgY is good for inhibition of Influenza virus A(FM1).

Teaching and research section of orthodontics of the Affiliated Hospital of Stomatology of Chongqing Medical University took the lead in carrying out ‘ three early education' Students of stomatology in Chongqing Medical University established ‘ social practice volunteer team' and conducted ‘ three early education' in orthodontic clinic during winter,summer holiday and weekend.This let students of low grades contact with society,clinical practice and scientific research at early stage thus to comprehensively improve their overall quality.Questionnaire for student volunteers of the Affiliated Hospital of Stomatology of Chongqing Medical University showed that ‘ three early education' can effectively improve medical students' comprehensive quality.In the early stages of learning for students of stomatology,we cultivated students' occupation spirit,innovation consciousness,scientific literacy,clinical thinking and teamwork ability by strengthening training of students' social practice ability,communication ability,organization and coordination ability,professional interests,professional senses of belonging,team spirit and moral emotion.We achieved certain results and our experiences are worth extending.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the significance,indication,operation experience and complication of biopsy for middle skull base neoplasms under nasal endoscope.METHODS A total of 48 patients with middle skull base neoplasms underwent biopsy under nasal endoscope with local or general anesthesia.RESULTS Biopsy was successfully done in 95.8%patients.Two patients failed to the procedure because of bleeding.Forty two patients were diagnosed pathologically through the biopsy at the first time,and 4 patients were diagnosed through the biopsy at the second time.The positive rates of the biopsy near and in the lesions were 82.6%and 97.8%respectively. The positive rates were significantly different between those two different biopsy sites(P=0.02).Blood loss was less than 50ml in 85.4%patients.Only one patient had the complication of leakage of cerebrospinal fluid.CONCLUSION Biopsy of middle skull base neoplasms under nasal endoscope can identify the pathological nature of the lesions with minimal invasion and less complication,and it is a reliable method.The pathological positive rate is relative to the sites of the biopsy.Serial biopsies can increase the positive rate.

Objective:To explore the protective cognition of the first batch of nurses against novel coronavirus pneumonia on apparatus-related stress injury, so as to provide reference for formulating and implementing relevant training and improving management measures.Methods:Using the phenomenological method of qualitative research, from January 20, 2020 to February 17, 2020, a half structured in-depth interview was conducted among the echelon nurses who completed the first batch of nurses against novel coronavirus pneumonia on apparatus-related stress injury. A total of 13 nurses in isolation wards were interviewed for the study.Results:Using the method of Colaizzi phenomenology to analyze the interview data, the related knowledge cognition was low, the identification of risk factors was limited, the risk assessment was not carried out, the treatment measures were not timely, the awareness of protection was lacking, the management training was not perfect, and the medical protection materials were not enough.Conclusion:The first batch of nurses to fight against novel coronavirus pneumonia had a low awareness of the prevention of medical device-related stress injury. Hospital managers should strengthen the training of related knowledge, improve management strategies, enhance the awareness of protection, and identify risk factors early, take preventive measures to ensure the safety and health of front-line medical staff in a timely manner.

In the previous study, a high-throughput screening method was established to find the antagonists of CD36. In the present study, a new compound named IMB-1680 was found using this method. The anti-atherosclerotic activities of IMB-1680 were then evaluated. Dose-dependent activities of IMB-1680 were detected by using Sf9 [hCD36] and CHO [hCD36] models. Fluorescence microscopic photography and flow cytometry were used to analyze uptake of mLDL. Foam cell test with RAW264.7 macrophages was used to examine lipid accumulation. The results showed that IMB-1680 inhibited CD36 activity with IC50 of 2.80 and 8.79 micromol x L(-1) in Sf9[hCD36] and CHO [hCD36] cells, respectively. Fluorescence microscopic photography and flow cytometry revealed that IMB-1680 could significantly reduce DiI-AcLDL uptake. Meanwhile, IMB-1680 also could reduce lipids accumulation in RAW264.7 macrophages. In all, the data indicated that IMB-1680 might be a potent effective anti-atherosclerotic leading compound.

Objective To prospectively study the dynamic variation of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF),the short-term efficiency and the tolerability of the esophageal cancer patients treated by radiotherapy combined with thalidomide.Methods The serum samples of 86 esophageal cancer patients were collected before,during and after the radiotherapy.The VEGF levels were assayed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).3 patients interrupted the treatment because of intolerance radiotherapy.Based on the changes of VEGF level,32 esophageal cancer cases whose VEGF levels increased or remained were assigned to the group to which thalidomide was given during the whole course of radiotherapy.The rest 51 patients whose VEGF level decreased received radiotherapy without thalidomide during the whole course.In addition,30 healthy cases were included in control group.Then the efficiency and safety of the introduction of thalidomide in radiotherapy were investigated. Results The VEGF levels of 86 esophageal cancer cases were significantly higher than the 30 healthy control cases ( t =5.07,P ＜ 0.01 ),which were also correlated with the primary tumor size ( t =4.55,P ＜ 0.01 ),lymph node metastasis ( t =7.50,P ＜0.01 ),histological type( F =3.40,P ＜ 0.01 ) and clinical stage ( t =2.52,P ＜ 0.0 l ).However,it was irrelevant to the lesion site,distant metastasis,X-ray pathologic type,gender or age ( P ＞ 0.05).For the thalidomide involved group, the VEGF level after radiotherapy was significantly lower than during radiotherapy (t =2.37,P ＜0.05 ) with an effective rate of 71.88％.For the rest 51 cases without using thalidomide,the effective rate was 78.43％ yet there was no significant difference between the VEGF levels during and after radiotherapy ( t =0.18,P ＞ 0.05 ).62.50％ patients reported symptoms of dizzy and burnout after using thalidomide,while this incidence was 15.69％ for the rest patients (x2 =19.28,P =0.000).For the groups with or without thalidomide combination,the sleepiness incidences were 18.75％and 1.96％,respectively (x2 =5.168,P =0.023 ); the Ⅲ - Ⅳ grade esophagitis incidences were 12.50％ and 11.76％,respectively (x2 =0.061,P =0.806) ; the Ⅱ - Ⅳ grade leukocyte decrease incidences were 6.25％ and 9.80％,respectively (x2 =0.026,P =0.872) ; the Ⅲ - Ⅳ grade platelet descend incidences were 3.13％ and 5.88％,respectively (x2 =0.002,P =0.965 ) ; the Ⅲ - Ⅳ grade nausea and vomiting incidences were 9.38％ and 27.45％,respectively (x2 =2.913,P =0.088 ). No anaphylaxis was observed. Conclusions Thalidomide can decrease the VEGF expression level of esophageal cancer patients.Patients treated with thalidomide show good tolerance and compliance.

Objective To investigate the changes and clinical value of serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) level before,during and after radiotherapy in patients with esophageal carcinoma.Methods The sera of 67 esophageal carcinoma patients and 30 healthy control cases were collected.The VEGF level in serum samples were measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.The relations among VEGF level changes,clinical stages and radiotherapy effect were analyzed.Results The VEGF levels of patients with esophagus cancer before,during and after radiotherapy were significantly higher than those in control group ( F =11.65,P ＜ 0.01 ).The VEGF level after radiotherapy was significant lower than that before radiotherapy ( F =10.72,P ＜ 0.01 ).The average VEGF level of patients with T3 and T4 was significantly higher than that of control group ( F =14.10,P ＜ 0.01 ).The average VEGF level of patients with N1 and N2 was significantly higher than that of control group( F =8.64,P ＜0.01).In 62 patients,the serum VEGF level increased in 21 cases but decreased in 41 cases after radiotherapy.With difference in radiotherapy efficiency of 61.90％ and 90.24％,respectively(x2 =6.08,P＜ 0.05).The average VEGF level during and after radiotherapy for 50 cases of CR + PR were significantly lower than that before radiotherapy( F =7.98,P ＜ 0.01 ).Conclusions Monitoring the serum VEGF level of patients with esophagus cancer can help evaluate the radiosensitivity,which has a significance in predicting the prognosis of radiotherapy.

To create a comparative referential system for syndrome classification study by viewing from the thinking characteristics of TCM on syndrome differentiation dependent therapy (SDDT), through analyzing the thinking process of SDDT, and the basic features of disease, syndrome and prescription, combining the basic principles of modern evidence-based medicine and feasibility of establishing integrative disease-syndrome animal model. The practice of creating a comparative referential system based on clinical efficacy of prescription was discussed around syndrome pathogenesis and its relationship with disease and prescription, which was one of the important scientific problems in TCM syndrome study. The authors hold that, it may be one of the available approaches for the present study on integration of disease with syndrome by way of insisting on the thinking pathway of stressing the characteristics of TCM and intermerging with modern scientific design; on taking the efficacy of prescription as the comparative reference system to accumulate and improve unceasingly according to the TCM method of syndrome diagnosis inferred from effect of prescription with reverse thought (i.e., to differentiate syndrome from the effect of prescription), and thus build up the syndrome diagnostic standard on the solid clinical and scientific base.
