Objective: To evaluate the effect of parallel scalp acupuncture therapy on hemodynamic function of cerebral circulation in post-stroke patients. Methods: Twenty post-stroke patients were taken as our objects. The cerebral circulation indices before and after parallel acupuncture therapy, were detected with KF-3000 Brain Circulation Analyze, to compare the change of hemodynamics indexes before and after parallel scalp acupuncture. Results: After the therapy, minimum and mean blood velocity of carotid artery (Vmin and Vmean) increased significantly (P<0.001); peripheral resistance (Rc) decreased significantly (P<0.001). And the other indices had no significant differences. Conclusion: Parallel Scalp Acupuncture can improve the state of cerebrovascular autoregulation, raise the velocity of blood, decrease the peripheral resistance, and increase the steady energy, total energy and the ratio of kinetic energy to total energy, decrease the ratio of oscillatory kinetic energy to total kinetic energy.
2.Search in sports and learning situation of children in Nantong with short stature causing by different etiologies
Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui 2015;(8):1146-1149
Objective To investigate the common etiologies, sports and learning situation of children in Nantong with short stature, and discuss the relationship between the two. Methods Did a retrospective analysis of 108 cases of children with short stature in Nantong University′s affiliated hospital since January 2012. Through detailed past illnesses, physical examination, laboratory tests, diagnose short stature and clarify the cause. Did a questionnaire to these children with short stature about sports and learning situation. Use statistical methods like multivariate Logis-tic regression analysis and link analysis to analyze sports and learning situation of children in Nantong with short sta-ture and find the relation with the etiology. According to the principle of group matching, the control group elected representative of 108 children. Results In 108 cases, 61 cases were because of growth hormone deficiency (GHD), accounting for 56. 5% ; 47 cases were because of non-growth hormone deficiency (NGHD), accounting for 43. 5% . Logistic regression analysis showed that participation in physical exercise was a protective factor. Rest-less anxiety and inattention were as risk factors, and these make a lot(P < 0. 001, OR = 7. 483, 95% CI = 2. 620 ~21. 374). There was no significant relation between common cause and sports, learning situation ( P > 0. 05). Conclusion Various types of sports (basketball, badminton, running, cycling) are protective factors for children of short stature. Restless anxiety and inattention are risk factors for children with short stature. Whether there is growth hormone deficiency or not, children with short stature should increase the right exercise as much as possible and avoid or reduce exposure to these risk factors.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2015;(11):1298-1303
Objective To investigate the prevalence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in the army old male hypertensive patients in Beijing. Methods From October 2011 to April 2014, old male patients in the geriatric department of the General Hospital of Chi-nese People's Liberation Army were enrolled and categorized into 3 groups: normotensive, well-controlled hypertensive and poorly-con-trolled hypertensive groups. The prevalence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases was recorded and binary logistic regression was used to analyze the differences among the groups. Results 719 old male patients were enrolled, 228 in normotensive group, 389 in well-con-trolled hypertensive group and 102 in poorly-controlled hypertensive group. Compared to normotensive group, there was more incidence of angina (OR=2.547, P<0.001), myocardial infarction (OR=2.493, P=0.003), cerebral thrombosis (OR=3.438, P=0.003) and peripheral artery atherosclerotic disease (OR=1.766, P=0.026) in the well-controlled hypertensive group, and it was more of angina (OR=4.123, P<0.001), la-cunar infarction (OR=2.810, P=0.020), cerebral thrombosis (OR=3.484, P=0.001) and peripheral artery atherosclerotic disease (OR=3.773, P<0.001) in the poorly-controlled hypertensive group. There was not significant difference of prevalence of cerebral hemorrhage (0.9%, 1%and 1%, respectively). Conclusion In the army old male hypertensive patients in Beijing, control rate of blood pressure was higher than com-mon population, but the prevalence of ischemic diseases was still higher than in the normotensive patients. Anti-hypertension and control of other risk factors could reduce the mobidity of cerebral haemorrahge.

Objective To investigate the effects of acupuncture at points Baihui (GV20), Yintang (Ex-HN3) and Sishencong (Ex-HN1) on spatial learning and memory abilities and hippocampal expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in a rat model of post-stroke depression (PSD). Method Thirty male adult SD rats were allocated, using a random number table, tocontrol, acupuncture and sham operation groups, 10 rats each. A rat model of PSD was made by classical middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) using an intraluminal thread technique, chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) and solitary feeding. At the fourteenth day after the beginning of stress, the acupuncture group received acupuncture intervention for 14 consecutive days. At one week after the end of stress, the Morris water maze test was conducted to assess rat spatial learning and memory abilities. After the completion of the water maze test, hippocampal CA3 regional BDNF expression was determined by immunohistochemical method. Result Rat learning and memory abilities decreased significantly in the control group compared with the sham operation group (P<0.05). Space exploration time and the number of crossing platform reflecting memory abilities decreased significantly in the control group (22.36±6.20 s and 3.72±0.90 times, respectively) compared with the sham operation group (48.73±5.40 s and 8.60±1.10 times, respectively); there were statistically significant differences (P<0.01). Learning abilities, space exploration time, the number of crossing platform and BDNF expression increased significantly in PSD rats treated with acupuncture compared with the control group; there were statistically significant differences (P<0.01). Conclusion Acupuncture can improve spatial learning and memory abilities and raise hippocampal regional BDNF levels in rats with post-stroke depression.
