This paper aims to investigate the value of diffusiion weighted imaging (DWI) and different apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) methods to predict the curative effects of neoadjuvant chempotherapy (NAC) for breast cancer. From March 2010 to December 2012, seventy-one patients were pathologically confirmed invasive breast cancer by needle puncture biopsy received before surgery, and underwent magnetic resonance before and after NAC, the ADC were measured by mean ADC method and lower ADC method. The pathologic response after NAC was divided to major histological response (MHR) group and non-major histological response (NMHR) group according to Miller & Payne system. Results displayed that ADC values obtained before NAC, at the end of the second cycle of NAC, and after whole course of treatment, had good correlations between mean and lower ADC methods (the Pearson's correlation=0.699, 0.749 and 0.895, respectively). Significant difference in ADC obtained both with mean and lower ADC methods could be found between MHR and NMHR groups after the second cycle of NAC (P< 0.05). After the second cycle of NAC, significant difference in the change rate of ADC could be found between MHR and NMHR groups by using lower ADC method (P<0.05), but not be found by using mean ADC method (P >0.05). In conclusion, DWI could monitor the pathologic changes of breast cancer after NAC, and the lower ADC method might be used to evaluate the curative effect of NAC with the change rate of ADC.

Objective To observe effects of ganoderma lucidum triterpenoids(GLT) on learning and memory function and anti-oxidative ability of aging model mice induced by D-galactose. Methods Senile model mice were established by D-galactose hypodermic injection for 8 weeks.GLT had been administered to two therapy groups.All the mice of different groups were tested with Morris water maze.Then the mice were killed and biochemically assayed of total anti-oxidative capacity(T-AOC),superoxide dismutase(SOD) and malondialdehyde(MDA) in the brain. Results The model mice showed worse ability in learning and memory in comparison with control mice.The T-AOC activity and SOD activity in the brain decreased and the MDA content increased in model rats in comparison with control.GLT significantly improved the changes mentioned above. Conclusion GLT improved the learning and memory dysfunction in aging model mice by modulation of the anti-oxidative ability.

Hemodynamic monitoring is an essential part in the care of children with congenital heart disease during perioperative period to guide clinical management.Currently,there are several methods available for hemodynamic monitoring.The invasive methods include the Fick method,thermodilution method,using the Swan-Ganz catheter and the pulse contour method.The noninvasive methods include partial carbon dioxide resorption,impedance method.In this paper,the principle,advantages and disadvantages of these monitoring methods in children undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass surgery were reviewed.

[Objective] To investigate the effect of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) on T-lymphocyte subsets levels, dendritic cells (DCs) counting and antigen CD80 expression in peripheral blood and tumor stroma of H22-bearing mice. [Methods] H22-bearing mice models were established. LBP in the dosages of 1.25 and 0.625 g?kg-1?d-1 was orally administered to the mice models for two weeks. The changes of T-lymphocyte subsets levels, DCs counting and antigen CDgo expression in peripheral blood and tumor stroma were detected by flow cytometry (FCM) . [ Results ] LBP increased the numbers of CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells, promoted the proliferation of CD4+ T-cells, and elevated the ratio of CD4+ /CD8+ in peripheral blood. Objective To evaluate the value of iterative modal reconstruction (IMR) for reducing radiation dose and controlling image quality in cardiac CT. Methods Ten pigs were included. All pigs were scanned on a 256?slice prospectively ECG?gated cardiac CT utilizing routine dose (group A) and tube current reduced by 30%(group B), 50%(group C) and 70%(group D), respectively. Filtered back projection (FBP), hybrid iterative reconstruction (iDose4) and IMR were used for all data, respectively. Image noise and contrast?to?noise ratio (CNR) of ascending aortic root were measured, while overall image quality and coronary artery image quality was rated (five point scale). All results reconstructed by FBP, iDose 4 and IMR were compared. Objective measurements were compared with one?way analysis of variance, and subjective assessments were compared with Kruskal?Wallis H test andχ2 test. Results Compared with that of FBP and iDose4, image noise of IMR was(15.1 ± 6.1),(18.8 ± 5.5),(22.1 ± 4.8)and(33.0 ± 4.0)HU, respectively in group A, B, C and D with significant reduction (F=82.77, 90.71, 96.59, 95.51 respectively, all P<0.01). Using IMR, groups A, B, C, D had higher CNR (42.0±11.1, 37.2±10.4, 31.4±8.7, 23.7±7.0;F=50.65, 53.55, 76.60, 57.36, all P<0.01) and overall image quality (5.0 ± 0.0, 4.8 ± 0.4, 4.6 ± 0.5, 4.5 ± 0.5;H=20.96, 15.63, 18.66, 23.56, all P<0.01) than FBP and iDose4. Using IMR, group A (100%, 40/40) and group B (100%, 40/40) had no significant difference (P>0.05) in the diagnosis rates of proximal coronary arteries compared with that using FBP and iDose4, while group C (100%, 40/40) and group D(92%, 37/40) had significantly increased diagnosis rates (χ2=20.05, 45.72, both P<0.01). The diagnosis rates of distal coronary arteries of IMR reconstruction which were 100%(50/50), 98%(49/50), 90%(45/50), 78%(39/50), respectively in groups A, B, C, D had significant increase compared with that of FBP and iDose4 reconstruction (χ2=7.39, 16.75, 34.62, 81.33, all P<0.05). Conclusions IMR can significantly reduce image noise, improve CNR and image quality compared with iDose4. Application of IMR can reduce radiation dose but without compromising image quality.

OBJECTIVE: To study the effects of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) on tumor microenvironment T-lymphocyte subsets and dendritic cells in H22-bearing mice and the mechanisms for intervention of tumor immune escape by LBP. METHODS: H22-bearing mice were given LBP orally for two weeks. T-lymphocyte subsets and the phenotypes of dendritic cells in tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) were detected by flow cytometry (FCM). RESULTS: LBP could significantly increase the numbers of CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells in TIL as compared with those in model control group (P<0.05). In model control group, the number of dendritic cells in tumor microenvironment decreased markedly, while in LBP-treated group, the increased number of dendritic cells and B7-1 expression were observed, but there were no significant differences between these two groups. CONCLUSION: LBP has anti-tumor effect probably by increasing the numbers of CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells in TIL to relieve the immunosuppression and enhance the anti-tumor function of the immune system. But whether LBP can recover the phenocyte and function of dendritic cells in H22-bearing mice should be further studied.

Objective To construct a human phage single chain-antibody library, and to sieve out the antibody ScFv against lung cancer from the library. Methods Total RNA was abstracted from lymph node tissue of the lung cancer, and was used to amplify V_H and V_L gene by RT-PCR. V_H and V_L were joined by a DNA linker by SOE-PCR to form the single chain variable fragment ( ScFv) gene. ScFv gene was coloned into the phage vector pCANT-AB5E. Panning against lung cancer cell line A549 was performed and positive clones were chosen for soluble expression. Results A recombination phage single chain-antibody library was constructed. After 4 rounds panning, the number of eluted phages increased by 115 times. Positive reactions to A549 were detected in 7 of 10 random clones. The human ScFvs against lung cancer were produced and confirmed by SDS-PAGE and ELISA analysis. Conclusion ScFvs against lung cancer were acquired by the construction of phage single chain-antibody library. The soluble ScFvs has specificall avidity to human lung cancer cells.
