2.Evaluation of pathologic response of breast cancer to neoadjuvant chemotherapy with magnetic resonance diffusion weighted imaging.

This paper aims to investigate the value of diffusiion weighted imaging (DWI) and different apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) methods to predict the curative effects of neoadjuvant chempotherapy (NAC) for breast cancer. From March 2010 to December 2012, seventy-one patients were pathologically confirmed invasive breast cancer by needle puncture biopsy received before surgery, and underwent magnetic resonance before and after NAC, the ADC were measured by mean ADC method and lower ADC method. The pathologic response after NAC was divided to major histological response (MHR) group and non-major histological response (NMHR) group according to Miller & Payne system. Results displayed that ADC values obtained before NAC, at the end of the second cycle of NAC, and after whole course of treatment, had good correlations between mean and lower ADC methods (the Pearson's correlation=0.699, 0.749 and 0.895, respectively). Significant difference in ADC obtained both with mean and lower ADC methods could be found between MHR and NMHR groups after the second cycle of NAC (P< 0.05). After the second cycle of NAC, significant difference in the change rate of ADC could be found between MHR and NMHR groups by using lower ADC method (P<0.05), but not be found by using mean ADC method (P >0.05). In conclusion, DWI could monitor the pathologic changes of breast cancer after NAC, and the lower ADC method might be used to evaluate the curative effect of NAC with the change rate of ADC.

3.Perioperative hemodynamic monitoring in children with congenital heart disease undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass

Hemodynamic monitoring is an essential part in the care of children with congenital heart disease during perioperative period to guide clinical management.Currently,there are several methods available for hemodynamic monitoring.The invasive methods include the Fick method,thermodilution method,using the Swan-Ganz catheter and the pulse contour method.The noninvasive methods include partial carbon dioxide resorption,impedance method.In this paper,the principle,advantages and disadvantages of these monitoring methods in children undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass surgery were reviewed.
4.Effects of ganoderma lucidum triterpenoids on learning and memory function of aging mice induced by D-galactose

Objective To observe effects of ganoderma lucidum triterpenoids(GLT) on learning and memory function and anti-oxidative ability of aging model mice induced by D-galactose. Methods Senile model mice were established by D-galactose hypodermic injection for 8 weeks.GLT had been administered to two therapy groups.All the mice of different groups were tested with Morris water maze.Then the mice were killed and biochemically assayed of total anti-oxidative capacity(T-AOC),superoxide dismutase(SOD) and malondialdehyde(MDA) in the brain. Results The model mice showed worse ability in learning and memory in comparison with control mice.The T-AOC activity and SOD activity in the brain decreased and the MDA content increased in model rats in comparison with control.GLT significantly improved the changes mentioned above. Conclusion GLT improved the learning and memory dysfunction in aging model mice by modulation of the anti-oxidative ability.

[Objective] To investigate the effect of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) on T-lymphocyte subsets levels, dendritic cells (DCs) counting and antigen CD80 expression in peripheral blood and tumor stroma of H22-bearing mice. [Methods] H22-bearing mice models were established. LBP in the dosages of 1.25 and 0.625 g?kg-1?d-1 was orally administered to the mice models for two weeks. The changes of T-lymphocyte subsets levels, DCs counting and antigen CDgo expression in peripheral blood and tumor stroma were detected by flow cytometry (FCM) . [ Results ] LBP increased the numbers of CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells, promoted the proliferation of CD4+ T-cells, and elevated the ratio of CD4+ /CD8+ in peripheral blood. 8.Screening and primary identification of anti-CCR7 scFv from large phage library

Aim To screen and identify anti-CCR7 single chain fragments variable(scFv)from lager phage library and to detect the scFv efficiency.Methods The insert ratio of ScFv antibodies library was identified by PCR.The products digested by Sfi I/Not I double enzyme.Panning against breast cancer cell and CCR7 were performed four and three rounds respectively.Positive clones were transformed to E.coli HB2151, and their dissolvability was assayed.The soluble scFv was purified by affinity chromatography, and its relative molecular mass was determined by Western blot.The ELISA assay was used to identify the immunocompetence of the antibody.Immunocytochemical staining and radioimmunoimaging were employed to determine the affinities of scFv binding with CCR7 in cell line and in nude mice.Results The insert ratio of ScFv gene was 90%(18/20), enzyme digest reaction showed the aim products on 1% agarose gel.ScFvs were obviously enriched after 7 round panning.Western blot result showed soluble scFv's molecular mass was about 34 KD.ELISA analysis showed dissolved antibody had high immunocompetence to MDA-MB-435 s cells.Immunocytochemical staining and radioimmunoimaging indicated that ScFvs were bound efficiently to MDA-MB-435 s cells which expressed CCR7.Conclusions ScFvs against CCR7 are successfully acquired by screening the phage antibody library.The soluble ScFvs have high affinity and specifical binding to human breast cancer cells.
9.Comprehensive visual impairment evaluation for cerebral palsy children

Abstract?AlM: To evaluate the visual impairment in cerebral palsy children with series objective indicators, and conclude their clinical features of visual function.? METHODS: Objective tests including following pursuing test, optokinetic nystagmus(OKN) drum test, refractive error examination, fundus examination, ocular deviation examination, pattern visual evoked potential ( P-VEP ) tests and brain magnetic resonance imaging ( MRl) were carried out in 43 cerebral palsy children ( 86 eyes ) with ocular visual dysfunction; The visual impairment data of the cerebral palsy children were collected, and the clinical features and possible mechanism were analyzed.?RESULTS: 1. Of the 43 cerebral palsy children ( 86 eyes) with the visual impairment presented diversified, 25 ( 50 eyes, 58. 1%) of refractive error, 24 ( 48 eyes, 55. 8%) of strabismus, 12 ( 24 eyes, 27. 9%) with nystagmus, 19 ( 38 eyes, 44. 2 %) of optical nerve atrophy or hyperplasia, 35 ( 70 eyes, 81. 4%) of VEP abnormality. Among children with spastic cerebral palsy, the incidence of visual impairment was statistically significant difference compared with other groups (P<0. 01). 2. There were 16 cases (32 eyes,37. 2%) with esotropia, 6 cases ( 12 eyes, 14. 0%) with exotropia and 2 cases ( 4 eyes, 4. 7%) with vertical deviation. Strabismus was most common in spastic cerebral palsy children, totally 13 (26 eyes, 30. 2%) with esotropia, and exotropia was common in hypotonia and other types cerebral palsy children; 3. 23 ( 46 eyes, 53. 5%) with hyperopia, 8 ( 16 eyes, 18. 6%) with myopia, 16 ( 32 eyes, 37. 2%) with astigmutism and 14 cases (28 eyes, 32. 6%) with anisometropia;4. Cerebral palsy children were usually with decreased VEP amplitude and prolong latency, and poor wave formation, mostly in spastic cerebral palsy children; 5. Visual abnormality was most common in occipital cortex damage and periventricular leukomalacia ( PVL ) . The incidence in PVL and occipital cortex had no statistically significant difference ( P > 0. 05 ), no nystagmus in patients with severe occipital cortex damage.?CONCLUSlON: Cerebral palsy children were usually with visual impairment, and presented with special clinical features; Comprehensive objective visual tests are accurate and reliable for evaluation of the visual function in cerebral palsy children.
