Chinese Journal of Neurology 2011;44(3):171-173
Objective To investigate the situation of visual memory impairment in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG).Methods Thirty MG patients and 28 normal control subjects were tested with a battery of computerized tests (modified Smith working memory software), which was designed to assess visual-spatial and visual-object working memory. Results There was no significant difference in the accuracy rate of visual-object working memory test between the MG group and normal controls (MG group 73.4% ±9.7%, normal controls 72.7% ±8.5%).The accuracy rate of the visual-spatial working memory test in the MG group (76.6% ± 16.5%) was significantly lower than that in the normal controls (86.6% ±7.5%, Z = -2.204, P = 0.028).Conclusion The visual-spatial working memory is probably impaired while the visual-object working memory is relatively spared in MG patients.

A 56-year-old man with 1-year history of palpitation, heat intolerance and sweating, was diagnosed as thyrotropin (TSH) -secreting pituitary adenoma based on the symptoms of hypermetabolism, enlarged thyroid gland, inappropriately increased serum TSH concomitantly elevated plasma thyroid hormones and a pituitary tumor demonstrated on magnetic resonance imaging. Long-acting octreotide formulation was administered at a dose of 20 mg intramuscularly. Tumor volume shrinkage and improvement of thyroid function was achieved after a single drug injection; and the thyroid function returned to normal in 28 days. It is suggested that long-acting octreotide formulation might be used as a routine therapeutic approach prior to pituitary surgery, which may enhance the effectiveness of surgery and postoperative recovery.

Objective To explore the predicative value of transvaginal ultrasonography and 48 hours blood HCG ratio for ectopic pregnancy(EP).Methods A total of 90 patients in our hospital from June 2014 to May 2016 were selected as the object according to the pregnancy result and postoperative pathology (40 cases in EP group and 50 cases in control group). The endometrial thickness was measured through transvaginal ultrasonography while blood HCG was detected by chemiluminescence technique and 48 hours blood HCG ratio was calculated. To evaluate the individual and combined predicative value of endometrial thickness and 48 hours blood HCG ratio for EP,receiver operating characteristic curves(ROC) were generated and logistic regression analysis was conducted. Results The endometriam thickness and 48 h blood HCG ratio of EP group were (11.75 ± 3.42) mm and (1.06 ± 0.38) %,respectively, which were lower than (15.52 ± 3.98) mm and (1.46 ± 0.20)% of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P =0.000).The AUCs and their corresponding 95% confidential intervals(CI) were 0.77[95% CI(0.67,0.87)] and 0.82[95% CI(0.73,0.91)],respectively.Combined ROC analysis based on the 2 indexes revealed an elevated AUC of 0.89 [95% CI(0.83,0.95)],the differences were statistically significant(P =0.04).Conclusion The endometrial thickness and 48 hours blood HCG ratio can be acted as useful predicative biomarkers for detection of EP.A combination of the two indexes could be a useful predicative biomarker for future clinical trials with EP and may act as a suitable add-on biomarker to the panel of methods already existing for EP.

National Journal of Andrology 2014;20(4):372-376
Adrenergic receptors are members of the G-protein coupled receptor superfamily. Recent studies revealed that these adrenergic receptors are playing an important role in the growth and metastasis of prostate cancer cells. The expression of adrenergic receptors rises significantly in prostate cancer cells and tissues. Agonists of these receptors promote the growth and mobility of prostate cancer cells, while antagonists may suppress their proliferation, trigger their apoptosis, and inhibit their metastasis. Clinically, receptor antagonists can significantly reduce the risk of prostate cancer and improve its prognosis after androgen depravation therapy. This article presents an overview on the roles of adrenergic receptors in prostate cancer.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2016;48(3):550-554
Objective:To evaluate the surgical corrective results of maxillary hypoplasia in patients with cleft lip and palate withtranspalatal modified Le Fort Ⅰ osteotomy. Methods:In the study,1 1 patients (4 women, and 7 men)with maxillary hypoplasia secondary to cleft lip and palate underwent transpalatal modified Le Fort Ⅰ osteotomy at Peking University School of Stomatology from Jan.201 2 to Dec.201 3, with the mean age of 21 years (from 1 8 to 27 years),Bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (BSSRO) and genioplasty were performed simultaneously in 9 of them for better appearance and functional occlu-sion.Lateral cephalometric radiographs were taken and traced before surgery, immediately after surgery and 6 months after surgery. The position of subspinale (A)on horizontal direction, the angle of sella-na-sion-subsipmale (SNA)and the angle of sella-nasion-supramental (SNB)were collected and analyzed to evaluate the results. Results:All the patients were uneventful with transpalatal modified Le Fort Ⅰosteotomy. All of them had a better profile and a satisfactory occlusionafter operation. The position of A was moved forward (6.6 ±1 .1 )mm on average in horizontal direction when surgery was completed, and maintained (6.0 ±1 .2)mm on average 6 months after surgery. The average of SNA was 75.9°±2.8° before surgery,81 .6°±8.6°immediately after surgery, and maintained 81 .0°±2.6°6 months after sur-gery.The average of SNB was 82.6°±3.7°before surgery,78.0°±2.4°immediately after surgery, and maintained 78.5°±2.4°6 months after surgery. Conclusion:The maxillary hypoplasia in cleft lip and palate patients can be successfully corrected with transpalatal modified Le Fort Ⅰ osteotomy and the func-tional occlusion can be achieved simultaneously. The effect of deformity correction was satisfactory. Transpalatal modified Le Fort Ⅰ osteotomy can move maxilla more sufficiently, especially applicable for the patient with severe palatal scars preoperatively.

Objective:To discuss the regulation of berberine and dioscin extracted from traditional Chinese medicine in the expression of protein moleculer related with glucose metabolism in trophoblast cells, such as IRS-1,P1-3K,Glut1,PPAR ?. Methods:To culture the chorion trophoblast cell in the early pregnancy,to induce cells to suffer glucose metabolism obstacle with the use of WortmaninnTake advantage of berberine and dioscin extracted from the Chinese traditional medicine with intervention, simultaneously set the troglitazone(T) and dimthyl(R) for the control group. Detect the gene expression with the use of RT-PCT,simutaniously detect the protein expression in molecular level. Examine the expression in the protein level with the technique of Western blot in combination with the technique of LSM for the expression location of protein moleculer related.Results:① With the induction of WT,the glucose metabolism inside the tropholast cells becomes abnormal, compared with normal(P
